Jeff Bailey Reviews In The Midst Of My Heart's Troubles by Katernia Busch

In The Midst Of My Heart’s Troubles by Katrenia Busch was an absolute delight to read. I’m always impressed with how much a good poet is in touch with their feelings and by how much it seems to apply to me. I actually read it twice through. Each thought seemed to build on the previous poem Well done. I recommend In The Midst Of My Heart’s Troubles as a great vacation by the pool or vacation on the beach read. Poets sure feel the world.

Jeff Bailey Reviews Glacial Fear by Holly Peterson

Glacial Fear by Holly Petersen was right up my ally for so many reasons. One, I likefinding debut authors with so much potential. This is Petersen’s first novel, and it was amazing. The main character is Rowan Campbell (strong female lead), afederal agent for the National Park system. When a dismembered body is found ata camp site in the Glacier National Park, Rowen is assigned the case. Goodmurder case and an excellent conspiracy. I’m all smiles. No, I grew up spendingmuch of my summer in Yosemite National Park and the golden chain of parks inthe Sierra Nevada Mountains of California. For me, the setting was old homeweek. The descriptions were so real, I swear that I could feel the coolmountain breeze on my face and smell the pine scent in the air. I wondered if Petersenlived in or near or worked in Glacier National Park for real. Well done debutnovel Petersen. I can’t wait for the next Holly Petersen thriller. I can’t helpbut recommend Glacial Fear by Holly Petersen one hundred percent.

Jeff Bailey Reviews Intersection: Parallel Planes #1 by Ayden Lockwood

I love finding a good Sci-Fi thathas potential for a long run of future books, a series of movies and/or a TVfranchise.  Intersection: Parallel Planesby Ayden Lockwood is just such a find. In Intersection: Parallel Planes, agents of the Global Research Center(GRC) are concerned when a global world peace seems threatened. Unknown to theGRC, another secret government agency has developed the capability to exploredivergent timelines and parallel worlds. With a great cast of characters, Parallel Planes presents a mind-bending series of potential story lines as a Divergent TimelineTeam seeks to unravel what seems to be going wrong in our timeline by exploringwhat has gone wrong (or right) in other timelines. They also want to know whois behind the suspected sabotage. As I said, infinite story possibilities aboutan infinite number of parallel planes. For instance, why does the Sphinx have anose in the latest timeline explored and is it significant. Five stars forParallel Planes and for Ayden Lockwood. I recommend the journey.

Jeff Bailey Reviews Spy Games For A Deserter by Ephraim

Spy Games For A Deserter.  Paris, August 1969. Brad James is living the dream. Martial arts champion and sometime CIA stringer with a brand new Master's degree, he has money, youth, freedom and charm. A brutal attack on his soulmate and high school sweetheart, Alice, ends the dream. When he seeks justice, he is plunged into a nightmarish underworld of espionage, murder, white slavery and extortion where he uncovers a twisted Soviet plot to scuttle the fledgling Paris Peace Talks. Every spin of the wheel draws him deeper into a deadly spy game against an American deserter, a sadistic egomaniac pimp and a squad of intractable Soviet agents. The game changes and the stakes rise when Brad learns that Alice is connected to the plot. It is a zero sum game where the winner takes all and the losers die. To win, he has to outsmart them and outfight them. That's the way he is. When Brad James finds trouble, he cannot back down. Never has. Never will.

I, of course like a good mix of suspense, mystery, and possibly conspiracy in the books that I read. Written in the Deep: Closed Door Romance at the Blues Avenue by E. L. Irwin delivered (asdo all of her books.) I’m a binge reader of Irwin’s books. They are captivatingand keep my attention. From Scotland to Ireland to the U.S., Written in the Deep was a cascade lovable of realistic emotions. I especially like thatIrwin not tells us a story, but she takes us to her destinations as well. AfterWritten in the Deep, I feel like I took a trip to Ireland. Excellent. Ofcourse, there was a touch of conspiracy surrounding a crime against women. Thisthread was expertly woven into the main story. I highly recommend Written in the Deep: Closed Door Romance at the Blues Avenue and all of Irwin’s books.

Jeff Bailey reviews The Levitation Game by Sharon Wagner

Forme, The Levitation Game by Sharon Wagner was a fascinating read. It wasan interesting blend of great Sci-Fi, mild paranormal, and relationship drama.Of course, finding the mysterious box (possibly extraterrestrial) in Guatemala didn’thurt. The story centers around young adults (unique adults) Joseph and Esme. Theywere childhood friends, and both developed the gift of levitation. ‘The Gift?’ Everymiraculous gift is a two-edged sword, one edge good and one edge, well, hot sogood. What could go wrong? As they become a couple, they take different pathsto apply their skills. What could go wrong? As I said, The Levitation Gamewas a masterful blend of the paranormal and social aspects of this couple andtheir friends that made the story for me. It was blended perfectly. I willfollow and read more of Sharon Wagner’s books.

Jeff Bailey reviews Above And Beyond by William Wright

Above And Beyond: Radio Silence by William Wright is a memoir account of one airman’s World War II experiences. While the various scenes are fiction, the basis of the book and of the scenes themselves is historically accurate. Told in the first person, the stories are grippingly realistic. This is the third William Wright book that I’ve read and reviewed. The three are so different from one another that one might assume that they a reader might assume that they were from different authors., which screams of William Wrights skill as an author. Above and Beyond is a first person, fictionalized account of the rear stories told to Wright by his father. It is not the account of great battles or popular generals, but the down-in-the-trenches memories of a true war hero. I read the book in one sitting, and it was superb. My highest kudos William Wright. The book is a jewel.
