not quite five stars

Can't Spell Treason Without Tea (Tomes & Tea Cozy Fantasies, #1) Can't Spell Treason Without Tea by Rebecca Thorne

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is a nice, gripping read full of twists and turns with a nice romance, my only regret is that the relationship between Rayna and Kianthe always rests at kisses and then fade to black so it's what some readers might call a clean romance - meaning no sex scenes. For the fifth star from me one good one would have been enough. Pity.

Wild!

One Last Shot One Last Shot by Lily Seabrooke

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is the wildest tale about the music industry I can imagine and I've been part of it, the touring and all, until I got too old at 36. It is funny, too, the whole idea to start with, but even more the dialogues.
All of the characters are well worked and the romance is everything you expect, too. A great read.

Update on "The Doc"

The Doc by Natalie Debrabandere

OK, here's the news, I downloaded the ebook to carry me over the waiting time for the paperback.

Imagine my surprise, when it was gone again the next afternoon on my kindle cloud reader, when I wanted to start reading. Not only was it gone from my cloud reader, but also from Amazon.fr's website.

Being me I flipped and contacted Amazon.com, told the story and asked to move my KDP account to the US. Here's my comment:

Ah , dear readers, so we as authors are not allowed to have an opinion and ... oh my God ... even worse expressit in a romance novel? Well, I share everything Nathalie might think, or - like me- even kow about that fake pandemic. I recommend you actually form an informed opinion insted of word vomiting your brainwashed beliefs.
I know a lot about this so called pandemic thanks to my life experience and my, from birth, unvaccinated fabulous health. The Grand Jury, whose videos on the topic you can find on Odyssee, I assume, you won't have the courage to watch and have your unfounded beliefs being not only questioned, but proven wrong.

It's just as well, that I am prepared now, because my next book might hit like a nuclear missile by comparison.

The five stars are just for the courage, Nathalie, as I know I'll love your book, that I have ordered as paperback from the US.

New book for April!

I have finally reached the point, that I can announce my new book with reasonable certainty. It will be a spin off from Foreign influence, that can nevertheless be read as a stand alone. As a change for my style there are two sapphic women as the main characters telling the story and their romance is set before the re-unification of Germany as background.

Kerstin and Olivia by Monique S.

Even though this is a spin off of Foreign Influence it can be read as a stand alone, as everything that happened before my two main characters meet and the connections to the ones from the “mother novel” are explained from the involved characters point of view.

Kerstin, a new member of the organised crime unit of Hamburg’s police, who has just had to experience her new boss in a case of a tourist seriously beating his wife for two nights hospital treatment being necessary. As her boss wants the man, who is American, in jail, even though his wife doesn’t want to press charges.

The General Staatsanwalt (ADA) sends his newest assistant, Olivia. As the two of them meet they find out, that they were at the same school together, each having had a crush, supposedly not reciprocated, on the other.
Being tasked to get to know each other and solve the problem as to send an American to a German jail, they revive the mutual attraction quickly, even though twelve years have passed. When they tell each other of their time at university and why they never met there, even though they both read law, Olivia remembers things from her time in the US, that put what is going on with the re-unification of Germany into serious doubt, even more so the politicians pretending to be operating in the interest of the Germans.

Nice

Silk and Sword (Scions of the Underworld, #1) Silk and Sword by P.S. Scott

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I was dithering with my rating here between three and four stars, because I really didn't like this world! in the end, though the two great women won the day with their difficult but wonderful romance and I rounded up to four stars, as in the end, when the world around them didn't really play a role any more, I really enjoyed the read.

A great first novel

Lily's Fire Lily's Fire by Lise Gold

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I had no idea, when I ordered this, it was enough that it was a book (paperback) and by Lise Gold. Reading it it was obvious that she evolved with the next books, but for a first novel? WOW. There were some parts that seemed a bit long winded with Lily, while the development of River, who is by far the more interesting character was too sudden and there was nothing at all, how she got herself ready to meet Lily again. But hey it was still a very good first try.

Things are changing!

Things are changing in my life and I decided to add something like a blog to my website.

So, while I was trying to make myself finish the second part of Viper, I found I had written myself into a corner. That’s unfortunately where it has stopped so far. I joined “A Tale of Seduction” parts one and two into a paperback volume and that is on Amazon. I have a first outline for volume 3, but really I had to find, that I am a pantser at heart.

And as I re-read Foreign Influence, to find out why it was less popular on Goodreads than on Amazon an idea struck me for a spin off for Kerstin and Olivia, and thanks to all the lesbian romances I read in the last three years, I decided to make this another crime story, this time with two female born ladies, who are in love with each other and guess what, within a week I have created the title (Image, type setting and all) formatted the file ready for printing on KDP and written the first 15000 plus words. True to my pantser nature the story is more or less writing itself as soon as I sit down at the trusted notebook computer. So watch this space for more.

If I can manage to keep everyday problems at bay and the idiots in world politics hold back from starting world war III (I can only say here Baerbock in die Klapsmuehle and Macron destitution!) I hope there will be a new book this spring.

Sam Skyborne's new book out!

Sugar and Spice (Lesvos Island # 4) by Sam Skyborne is out today. Have a look at my review, if you're NOT German it's going to be the full fun experience, as being German does reveal the central mystery pretty quickly, at least it did for me. SORRY Sam!

Other than that I enjoyed the book just as much as
Eye of the Storm A Lesbian Romance Novel (Lesvos Island Collection) by Sam Skyborne
(set in the same environment).
If your more into crime stuff, try
Risk Three Crime-fighting Women RISK All for Love, Lust and Justice. A Lesbian Fiction Thriller by Sam Skyborne also from Sam.

Thats the news for today.

I'm disappointed.

Destination You: An Age-Gap Lesbian Romance Destination You: An Age-Gap Lesbian Romance by J.J. Arias

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

I know a lot of you will not agree with my rating, but I can only give pretty weak three stars here and that is because the reasons I didn’t really enjoy this read are very personal.

First of all the kind of phone sex was a horrible downer. Then of course because of my rather adventurous life and personality as well as the title image, I was at first expecting, then less and less hoping for Raquel to set free her own wild side. So, in the end, it was a pretty bad disappointment.
