I am sorry for some of the harsh words, Ms. Masts, but you had the unlucky fortune to find a sixty nine year old sapphic transwoman as a reader, who came out and started to transition in 1983.

I have worked in responsible positions in the entertaining industry during my transition and afterwards I used my experience with clueless psychiatrists and psychologists during my transition, to actually start investigating myself with the help of the world’s best astrologer and at the same time learn my inner truths about my life so far. When I left Germany in 1986 - disgusted by the farce the government called “Transexuellengesetz” - with my female partner to start a new life in the UK, I was already known for the quality of my counsellings and diagnoses of psychological problems of male to female trans persons, to be working as a travelling feelancer with established therapists in their groups, later even supervising established practitioners of psychology and medicine. So, yes, that is what still fuels my own books, that all have -no matter what genre I write – sapphic male to female trans heroines and cis woman, sapphic or bisexual, love interests.

What puzzles me, Ms. Masts, is the discrepancy between the original title image of the book and what you remark about the quality of the artist’s work you used for the original publication. It sounds like, at the time, you were striving for those qualities yourself. The development of Judy in the story is such a stark contrast … what happened?

I know that I will not make any friends with what I am going to voice here, but my life experience and some involuntary give aways in your writing have told me a lot of what possibly fuels people like Judy: a lack of love during childhood and a resulting lack of self esteem, rigorously repressed and replaced with wanton cruelty and an underlying envy of ‘how easy men have it’. That, I m sorry to say, is not a base to build a healthy life on, or to say it with the words of Crishnamurti “It is no sign of health to be perfectly adapted in a profoundly sick society.”

OK. so I faught down the urge to scrap my computer by thowing I out THROUGH the closed window and read this to the last word. Not an experience I will ever like to recall, so a no star rating, as I know a lot of people out there like this sort of crap and my professional pride prevents me from hurting another writers chances at making some money. This series, though, is more than dead for me.

Surprising

Undercover Nanny by Alexa Woods

Sometimes I wonder if there is a written law somewhere about the pacing of lesbian romances, no matter what genre. In some cases it really bugs me, in others it more or less ruins the experience for me, but this one was different, even though it seemed to stick to the concept and yet not. Thanks to the two points of view and getting to see Zilla and Bronwen/Colleen's thoughts it was perfectly obvious what was going to happen at the 80% Mark, even how it would be happening and ending. All that didn't matter because of the excellent characterisations and amazing writing. A well enjoyable experience.

breathtaking!

The Hideout by Melissa Tereze

I don't know many writers, who could write about such sad and controversial topic successfully.

I had to read it slowly, as, given the premise, I knew exatly where it would lead and dreaded every time I started a new section that things would go sideways within the next couple of pages ... and they did, but not the way I expected until the last third. So, yes, in a way this wasn't highly enjoyable on the emotional side, but an inredible experience of a caring and understanding approach and fantastic writing. If I was to have a say in this, I'd vote this for a 21st century classic in literature. I'll definitely buy the paper version for my top favourite shelf!

Testing Faith by A.C. Adams

I saw the review of one of my friends of Finding Faith and could not resist :) all I can say is that I did not have so much fun reading a book since Douglas Adams Hitchhikers guide to the Galaxy. Apart from that the new Theology is a hoot, AC you're absolutely brilliant!

Have you ever been to France? The bureucracy Below is exactly what I found here and it gives exactly the same kind of freedom to rebellious spirits like myself; they do their thing and I don't mind, I do my thing and they don't care. Heaven Below? No, on earth. In Brittany, France. Don't miss this, seriously!!!!!

c) I'll probably be more coherent to write a proper review -hopefully :)

WTF?

This book has been censored by Amazon France. I am worried now, as the book was there and I downloaded the ebook, but half an hour later it was gone again from my phone and the website.
In response I orderd the paperback from the US and got it without a problem ysterday.

So what do I do now? my next book has an even more controversial topic, that will shake up France as well as Germany. I have a big list of proof for what I claim, from the US, the UK, France and even Germany. All of that is going into the annexe at the end of my book. At the moment I am trying to get KDP US to accept me as an author, as I actually plan to remove all my books from Amazon France in protest.

The new title is: Dangerous Open Secrets, Kerstin and Olivia, a lesbian thiller by Monique S, it's on my author page as alternative title edition .

Just incredible

Meeting Millie by Clare Ashton

My rating: 5 of 5 stars


I could be gushing about this incredible book for weeks, but I'd create so many spoilers, so I just let it rest here. Five stars are nowhere near enough. Also I'll not even try to quote a trope here, as it beats them all.
