I hit a wall. A solid, warm wall that smells dreadfully sinful. Before I have time to process, two firm hands are on my shoulders to steady me. “Hey, watch where you’re going” comes the deepest, sexiest voice imaginable, which would be incredibly hot if the words spoken were anything other than rude and demanding. Looking up, which is crazy, considering I’m one step higher, I freeze as my eyes land on a dark, handsome god of a man who looks like he wants to commit murder. What is it with me and jerks tonight?
His eyes get bigger, and his brows furrow as soon as my shocked gaze meets his. He has short black hair that’s longer on the top and styled perfectly. His menacing eyebrows are folded downward from scowling at me. The dark scruff that shadows his face is so sexy, trimmed razor straight, accentuating his perfectly chiseled jaw. Mentally slapping myself, I apologize.
“Crap, I’m so sorry. I didn’t see you there.” He doesn’t release his hold.
“That’s because your head was down. Your eyes should be looking forward.” His voice is hard and demanding.
Flustered and—I reluctantly admit—slightly turned on by his strong, firm grip and penetrating stare, I stand there frozen in place. After what seems like minutes but I’m sure is only seconds, I snap out of it and apologize again. “Sorry, I’ll watch where I’m going from now on.” The words rush out as I pull away to leave, this time keeping my head up. I think I hear him say something else behind me, but I don’t stop. Running into one of the hottest guys I’ve seen in a while should’ve been the highlight of my night. Instead, I’m more irritated. Do all good-looking men have a license to be an ass?

If you could have one paranormal ability, what would it be?
Invisibility. Wait…mindreading. I think it would be so fun to call people on their crap. However, sometimes, it’s really none of your business what other people think of you. So, let’s go back to invisibility.
What is one thing your readers would be most surprised to learn about you?
Like Lily, the main character in my first book, I was abandoned by my dad at the age of 15 and moved in with my best friend. It made me the driven person I am today, and I wouldn’t change a thing.
When writing descriptions of your hero/ine, what feature do you start with?
Funny, I always start with hair. It’s weird, but I’ve always been a hair person. I think it makes or breaks the look of someone. I didn’t realize until asked this question, but it totally makes sense why I start with the hair every time.
Are you a plotter or a pantser?
Oooh, I’m a little of both. My first book was more pantser because, well, it was my first book. I’ve outlined my next two, but even as I write my second, I find I’m changing the heck out of it as I go. And I just heard the best advice from an author friend who said you’re supposed to write the ending of your book first. Oh my gosh, would that have made my life easier with this last one. I’m a third of the way through book two, and I think I’m going to hit pause and write the ending. I’m excited to see how it goes.
Did you learn anything from writing this book? If so, what?
It was my first, so I pretty much learned it all. But the most valuable thing I learned was to dive deep into your character descriptions up-front. Their hopes, dreams, struggles, and even little things like their favorite colors. I didn’t do this until midway last time; this time, I did it out of the gate. It made the story come together easier and helped with flow.

Usually it’s at a time and-or place where I can’t do much about it. Like for instance, while driving the school bus. Or when I just start drifting off to sleep. Showering. Etc.
