Matt is grumpy, Phoebe is sunshine. AND the sister of his teammate –
are they a match made in heaven or hell?

Matthew
A Los Angeles Quakes Hockey Series
by Alisa Jean
Genre: Sports Hockey Romance

Matthew Holt uses his
anger on the ice, gaining him the title of enforcer for L.A. Quakes and high
minutes in the sin bin. But hooking up with a teammate’s little sister may earn
him the highest penalty of all.
Ever since pee wee hockey, I’ve
only known one way to play the sport I love – one hundred percent all in. My
focus has always been protecting my teammates, so when the only team I’ve ever
played for betrays me, trading me to a team thousands of miles from the family
that needs me, who can blame me for taking angry and bitter to a whole new
level.
Then Phoebe Anderson, the younger sister of my new teammate, literally falls
into my arms and suddenly my life takes another, weird turn. Because believe it
or not, my late sister voices her approval of the adorable klutz and refuses to
be denied. Or am I going nuts? Either way, will our siblings prove to be too
big of an obstacle to overcome? Or am I ready to let go of my anger and do
whatever it takes to earn Phoebe’s love?

“There is tension and chemistry that
jumps off the pages, not just between potential love interests, but the team as
a whole. This story is a definite attention grabber, so much I couldn’t put it
down. It has a gripping and incredible storyline, making you want to read it
again. If I could, I’d give it 5 plus stars. “
“Loved this book great read.”
“I enjoyed how there is more to him that no one knew. He
definitely was an enforcer on the ice but deep down he was a big softy. And
Phoebe is a girl who can’t stay on her feet literally…Definitely worth the
wait. Can’t wait to read book 4.”

Scare Thee Well

Meet Tansy Shackleton.
She’s just the witch to finish what her
ancestors started.

Scare Thee Well
Laurel Haven Witches Book 2
by ReGina Welling
Genre: Paranormal Women’s Fiction

Three hundred
years ago, one witch had to live with her mistakes. Today, another might have
to die for them.
Tansy Shackleton has spent her entire life carrying the
guilt of her family’s legacy. If not for her ancestor’s mistake, good witches
might not be trapped in the coastal town of Laurel Haven, Maine. But no matter
how hard she tries to make amends, she can’t stop seeing the stain on her soul.
Not even at the cost of her marriage.
Connor Shackleton has tried everything he can think of to
get his wife to see that she’s not to blame for the unwitting actions of a
long-dead witch. At his wit’s end and unable to watch Tansy work herself into
the ground for something that wasn’t even her fault, he proposes they take a
break for a few days, just to get some perspective.
He should have known Tansy would martyr both their happiness
on the alter of guilt, but he didn’t. He wanted her back almost from the minute
he walked away, but she’s shut him out of her life as firmly as the door she
closed behind him.
The problem is, life and death in Laurel Haven go hand in
hand for witches of the blood, and just like Tansy, Connor’s one of them. The
only way to move forward is to turn and face the past head-on. Together with
her new coven, Tansy will have to put all of Laurel Haven’s ghosts to rest or
die trying.

Rue the Slay
Laurel Haven Witches
Book 1
Three hundred
years ago, four witches went into the forest to cast a spell of protection
against the evil creeping into their town but they were too late.
Today, Rue Channing never sees it
coming, and she should because seeing is her special power. Still, who would
have expected to be kidnapped and hauled off to a small coastal town in Maine?
But that is exactly what happened. Now, Rue, a lover of order and strict
routines, is dragged out of her comfort zone and into a new life in the small,
coastal town of Laurel Haven.
Things could not be worse, she thinks, until she meets the man next door and
decides they could. Ry McFadden is the most infuriating man on the planet. He’s
a study in contrasts; grumpy yet generous, intensely private, but somehow open.
Rue can’t think what to do with him, except she can, and that just makes things
worse.
The problem is, Ry McFadden just might be part of Rue’s destiny as she learns
she’s been brought to Laurel Haven to finish what her ancestors started.

The Detective Tom Robertson Series

Join Tom and his colleagues in the feel-good Detective Tom
Robertson series, which combines police procedural crime fiction and murder
mystery with compelling characters and a thread of humour.

Wrath of Revenge
Detective Tom Robertson Book 1
by A.G. Winkworth
Genre: Crime Thriller, Murder Mystery

Detective Sergeant Tom Robertson has left the comfort of
rural Scotland for the Met.
He doesn’t need to be here. His business career earned him enough money to retire
at thirty and spend his days playing golf. But he has chosen to challenge
himself in a big city a long way from home. He thinks he might be able to make
a difference. Not through arrogance, but perhaps a naïve belief that one police
officer can change the lives of those in danger or trouble. He needs to test
his own resolve, and prove he isn’t too gentle a soul for this sort of work.
Tom hasn’t found where he belongs yet. He knows his mission isn’t as a teacher,
a doctor or a priest. Could it be here, in London, at Merran Road Police
Station?
When a blast from the past rocks the present
The discovery of human bones in a wooded area by a golf course gives DS Tom
Robertson his first case since moving to the Met. Who is the victim? Why was he
buried there? And how much can Tom and his new DCI, John Walters, find out from
their initial enquiries before they are off the case and the Murder
Investigation Team take over?
Two further murders narrow down the search for the killer. MIT has a suspect
with motive, means and opportunity. But Tom thinks they should be looking in a
different direction. Can he close the case while staying out of danger?
Join Tom and his colleagues for Wrath of
Revenge, the first full-length instalment in the feel-good Detective Tom
Robertson series, combining police procedural crime fiction and murder mystery
with compelling characters and a thread of humour.
**Only .99 cents!**

Deadly Justice
Detective Tom Robertson Book 2

A punishment is not the end, merely the beginning.
When a young boy opens the boot of an abandoned car, he
hasn’t just found one body, but lifted the lid on the chilling operation of a
serial killer. And now his own family is in danger. DS Tom Robertson is drafted
into the Murder Investigation Team and the evidence points one way, but is it
the right way? For while the team follows the trail backwards to find previous
victims, the killer is looking forwards. Can Tom hunt him down before he
strikes again?
Detective Sergeant Tom Robertson has joined the Met, to
challenge himself in a new environment and try to make a difference.
But someone else wants to make a difference too, and he’s
playing from his own rulebook. One where the law and sanctity of life mean
nothing.
Join Tom and his colleagues for Deadly Justice, the second
full-length instalment in the feel-good Detective Tom Robertson series,
combining police procedural crime fiction and murder mystery with compelling
characters and a thread of humour.

Dangerous Reprisals
Detective Tom Robertson Book 3

There is blood on the streets
When a drug dealer is stabbed to death at the wheel of his
car, a series of reprisals light the tinderbox of tensions on the Hessop
Estate.
Will innocent victims get caught in the crossfire? Can MIT
hunt down the killers and restore calm, or will gang warfare take over?
DS Tom Robertson’s career in the Met has started with a
bang. Now he returns to the Hessop for the second time in a week. Can his
knowledge of the local youngsters give him a crucial advantage in keeping them
safe and bringing an end to the killing spree? But he has to be ready to adapt.
For against this volatile backdrop, events take a different turn and the
investigation uncovers other crimes linked to the serial killer who is already
in custody.
Join Tom and his colleagues for Dangerous Reprisals, the
third full-length instalment in the feel-good Detective Tom Robertson series,
combining police procedural crime fiction and murder mystery with compelling
characters and a thread of humour.

I have always loved reading crime fiction, from the novels
of Agatha Christie and PD James, to Ian Rankin and Peter Lovesey, among many
others. This genre has so many talented authors, a topic which I will explore
more in my newsletters.
I started writing the Tom Robertson series in 2020, but
quickly realised I had so much to learn about writing, crime, and then actually
producing the book. I am indebted to all those who have helped me along the
way.
The first book I wrote, Darkness to Light, has been
reworked, and will probably be re-titled too, to become book 4 in this series.
I also wrote books 5 and 6 as I honed my craft. I felt readers would benefit
from Tom’s backstory, so I wrote Deadly Justice, now book 2, Murder at the
Museum, and book 3, Dangerous Reprisals. Then I decided the series needed a new
start, so I wrote the first book, Wrath of Revenge.
As a new independent author, I really feedback and support
from you, the reader. I hope you enjoy the adventures of Tom and his colleagues
and I continue to read as the series develops. Please contact me with your
thoughts so far, and leave a review on Amazon.

Best selling author Janet Morris began writing in 1976 and
published more than 30 novels, many co-authored with her husband Chris Morris
or others. She contributed short fiction to the shared universe fantasy series
Thieves World, in which she created the Sacred Band of Stepsons, a mythical
unit of ancient fighters modeled on the Sacred Band of Thebes. She created,
orchestrated, and edited the Bangsian fantasy series Heroes in Hell, writing
stories for the series as well as co-writing the related novel, The Little
Helliad, with Chris Morris. She wrote the bestselling Silistra Quartet in the
1970s, including High Couch of Silistra, The Golden Sword, Wind from the Abyss,
and The Carnelian Throne. This quartet had more than four million copies in
Bantam print alone, and was translated into German, French, Italian, Russian
and other languages. In the 1980s, Baen Books released a second edition of this
landmark series. The third edition is the Author’s Cut edition, newly revised
by the author for Perseid Press. Most of her fiction work has been in the
fantasy and science fiction genres, although she has also written historical
and other novels. Morris has written, contributed to, or edited several
book-length works of non-fiction, as well as papers and articles on nonlethal
weapons, developmental military technology and other defense and national
security topics.
Janet said: ‘People often ask what book to read first. I
recommend “I, the Sun” if you like ancient history; “The Sacred
Band,” a novel, if you like heroic fantasy; “Lawyers in Hell” if
you like historical fantasy set in hell; “Outpassage” if you like
hard science fiction; “High Couch of Silistra” if you like far-future
dystopian or philosophical novels. I am most enthusiastic about the definitive
Perseid Press Author’s Cut editions, which I revised and expanded.’

Steven Murphy spent his formative years in Sydney’s Redfern.
Abandoned by his mother when only weeks old, his father left him in the care of a cruel, alcoholic stepmother while he himself was in jail. Unbelievably, the child they dubbed the “Pyjama Boy” fought his way through life to achieve his ultimate goal. His story is a poignant and haunting one that captivates its reader from the very beginning and remains long after the book has been closed.
AN INSPIRATIONAL TALE OF SUCCESS AGAINST THE ODDS
Read an Excerpt
There was something odd about the woman driving the yellow station wagon. Her eyes darted around suspiciously. Steve watched her from his patrol car. Her 1988 Sigma moved off from his right at the green lights, to enter the late-night traffic. She had a passenger, a young man with
a wispy beard. As they moved, the man looked across at the police car waiting third in line at the red light and then glanced momentarily over his shoulder into the back seat. Sparks spat along the dark surface of the road as he tossed his cigarette out the window of the car.
‘Nervy little punk, ’ remarked the older police constable next to Steve.
‘There’s something odd about both of them in that Sigma…,’ said Steve.
‘Yeah, I think we should have a chat with them.’
As lights turned green and when they were clear of the intersection, Steve pulled past the two vehicles in front of them. The Sigma had increased its pace and was nearly out of view as it turned left almost without slowing. Steve’s pulse rate rose with the revs of the police car. They swung into the side street and passed the Sigma with Red and blue lights flashing, then slowed in front of it. The older policeman put his arm out his window, indicating that the Sigma should pull up at the curb.
While the woman searched a handbag for her licence, Steve noticed that there was someone lying on the back seat of the car. Shining his torch through the window, Steve realised with a jolt that the passenger was gagged, with a tee shirt twisted and pulled tightly into an open mouth. The arms were pulled back and bound at the wrists with a leather belt.
Within minutes a second patrol car had arrived at the scene and the couple were taken into custody, their bound and gagged passenger found to be dead. Steve looked at the victim, a man in his mid-thirties and recognised the face of one who had recently ‘helped him in his enquiries.’ Soon there were detectives and forensic officers examining the car and, as the body was being removed, Steve received orders to drive to an address in a nearby suburban street.
About the Author:

I’ve never thought of myself as special-just someone who has lived through life’s challenges like everyone else. But over time, I’ve come to see that by sharing my journey, with all its imperfections, I might offer something meaningful to others. Life moves so quickly, and the choices we make shape everything. My hope is that by being honest about my experiences, others might find encouragement or even a little clarity for their own paths.
Speaking at Schools and events across Australia has been an unexpected privilege. These moments aren’t about presenting a perfect image; they’re about connecting with people on a real, human level. I bring photos, videos, and documents to show the truth of my story-not to impress but to connect. When I speak openly, sharing the vulnerabilities and lessons I’ve learned, something powerful happens: the audience feels it, and suddenly, it’s not just my story-its something they can see themselves in, too.

GENRE: Women’s Fiction

BLURB:
When Jacqueline follows her trusty Labrador Bailey down a hidden path to the beach, she’s unaware that her vacation plans on a small island off the New England coast has already taken her life in a new direction. Running into an unassuming local beach comber stirs new thoughts, desires, and a self-determination she never knew she possessed. Jacqueline will need to trust her instincts and make the most of what fate has in store if she wants the future that, until now, she has only dared to dream of.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
EXCERPT
The ferry was taking its sweet time making its way to Block Island.
Time is the ultimate dictator. Where did I hear that? I couldn’t have just come up with that one on my own.
Jacqueline French grabbed one of the last outside seats on the Block Island Ferry. It had only left Point Judith, RI, ten minutes ago, but for her, it seemed like ten hours ago. This would be her fourth September visiting this tiny tear drop-shaped island nestled between the south coast of Rhode Island and Montauk Point, located at the eastern tip of the south fork of Long Island, New York.
Over the last several years, both Montauk Point and Block Island had become popular and expensive vacation destinations for well-to-do Manhattanites. They came seeking a reprieve from the overly manicured crowds who flocked every summer to the more fashionable vacation locale known collectively as the Hamptons.
She always preferred visiting Block Island this time of year, after many of the Labor Day vacation stragglers dispersed and the kids were back at school. Although there were still a fair number of visitors, the din of racing mopeds was confined mostly to the weekends. Thanks to Michael, who she met on her first trip to Block Island, she came to know virtually every back road and trail on this seven-mile-long by three-mile-wide island. Beyond its beauty, Jacqueline’s deeper connection with the island was its shape. She shed many tears lately over the fate of her marriage and the direction her life had taken.
Q & A With …
Tell us about you as a person.
I am a born-and-bred New Yorker who has transitioned from city life to full-time living and hiking in rural upstate New York with my trusty labrador Eddie. After retiring from a career in advertising, I am now pursuing my passion for grant writing—and, hopefully, my dream of becoming a novelist.
If you could hang out with one famous person for one day, who would it be and why?
The naturalist David Attenborough. Experiencing his passion and unending curiosity about nature would be a delightful and unforgettable way to spend a day in my life.
What’s the story behind your latest book?
My love affair with Block Island. From the moment I first set foot on Block Island 27 years ago, it captured a part of me I’ve never been able to reclaim. My alter ego has been relentlessly searching for a way to call it home ever since – – chasing the dream through every possibility, every longing. While reality may have kept me at a distance, my imagination refused to surrender. In its boundless landscapes, it found a way to live there, weaving stories that let me stay, even if only in spirit. My imagination was sparked by a very casual encounter I had with a young man I briefly met who was also walking their dog at the beach. Mine and his hit it off immediately and went missing. Then we ran into each other again on the island under different circumstances and I think we both felt the chemistry, but it never went any further. So, I asked myself what if?
What advice do you have for other writers who want to get the word out about their latest book?
Adam:
Men like me don’t get happy endings.
When my demons talk to me, I talk back.
I heeded their call when they demanded my parents’ death.
I even listened when they ordered my own.
And they nearly won.
Until her.
One night changed my life. Then I lost it all. I lost her.
Now, I’ll do anything to get my sunshine back.
But can a sinner like me be willing to share after learning I’m not the only one craving her light?
Jordyn:
When a man shows you his red flags, run.
But running from Adam is easier said than done.
When he re-enters my life, my world implodes with the secrets he’s keeping.
Can I forgive him and learn to live in his shadows? To be the light he thinks I am?
Or will his darkness consume me?
Abel:
Witnessing your twin nearly die, hardens something in you.
I’ll do whatever it takes to keep Adam breathing.
As kids, he’d protected me, even though that was my job as the older brother.
Now, it’s my turn to protect him.
This place really does serve a mean cup of Joe.
I lift the delicate-looking porcelain cup to my lips, letting my lashes flutter against my cheeks as I take another hearty sip of my mocha latte. Licking my lips, I glance around the bustling coffee shop, sunlight bathing my fellow caffeine fiends, kissing the glass enclosure showcasing treats and the checkered tile flooring. Behind the green counter, four uniformed bodies move in sync to crank out orders as people filter in and out of the building.
I wait, settling back into the booth I’d snagged early, only moments after the shop opened. I know Jordyn will be strutting her bubbly self through the frosted glass doors at any moment and there’s not a damn thing Adam can do about me intercepting her, unwilling as he is to blow our cover.
But I am fixing this, dammit.
I’ve wiled the hours away on my phone, gathering intel on the next assignment I plan to take as soon as things are cleared up here.
A vacation with your twin and girlfriend wouldn’t be a bad idea.
I freeze, sucking back air as the woman in question strolls in, oblivious to my position at the back of the shop and at the turn of my own thoughts.
My girlfriend?
No. Jordyn is Adam’s. He’s said so, and I’ve respected that, chalking up my moments with her to brotherly duties. My twin needed me and… God, look at the way that dress rises and falls from the delicious jiggle of her ass. I swipe at my mouth in the event drool slipped past my lips.
About the Author Mae K. Knight is a self-published author based in Louisiana, who enjoys writing “trauma boys” as her readers coined them, BIPOC FMCs that look like her and fast, smutty stories that leave you craving for more. When not writing, she’s reading monster romances penned by her fellow indie authors, studying for her nursing degree, or lifting heavy weights in the gym to feel like a bad bitch on a competition platform.
