I was born and raised in Ashford, Middlesex in the south-east of England. My love of science fiction started young, and I remember sitting and watching Star Trek episodes on Sundays while my mother cooked a roast dinner. Today I can't watch the Next Generation without feeling hungry!

While I enjoy other Science Fiction (Star Wars, Battlestar to name a few) I always came back to the Star Trek franchises. I think it was the element of exploration and wonder that drew me in and still drags me back even to this day. Controversial as it may be, Captain Janeway remains my favorite.

What’s your advice for aspiring writers?

Or, more helpfully I tend to try and live by Terry Pratchett's advice to new authors - "Write 500 words a day. No excuses."

Sometimes I don't write 500 words a day, but I never make excuses. So I am like 50% of the way there.(less)
