I bought this because the people at Amazon claimed this was the best book so far for 2025. Yes, it was different, well-written and hooked me from the beginning. My problem with it is that it's one of those stories that is doom and gloom from the get- ...more

Nora's suspense novels are an auto-buy for me. I'm glad she only has one a year. But I have to admit I'm disappointed in this latest one. Yes, I liked the characters. And the opening pulls you in. There are truly evil villains too. Good job, Nora. Bu ...more

Hurray! Finally a book with a happy ending. Yes, you have to work to get there and, if family drama gets to you, it might even make you shed a tear. But Jimenez is a star when it comes to creating sympathetic characters. Don't read this if you've los ...more

Another World War II book? Yes, I'm here for it. This is the horrible blitz in London and two teenagers are caught in it. Is this a YA book? It could be, but there are traumatic things happening to both of them. This is not a romance. Baldacci brings ...more

Dragons! Well, at least near the end of the book. This fantasy was full of texture, a great setting and characters you won't soon forget. Tamsyn is a whipping girl. It is her duty to take punishment for the royal daughters in the household where she ...more

I have never read a book with so many twists and turns. Fascinating. And one of the worst villains I've encountered in a long time. A woman falls off a bridge. Or was she pushed? Nurse Meghan is taking care of her in the ICU. The woman's parents are ...more

Finally, I found a book I couldn't put down! Coben is a master of the mystery. Sami Kierce is not your typical hero--short, Pakistani, disgraced cop. But he's so good at figuring out things. This book races along as Sami sees a woman he thought was d ...more

John Sandford is one of my auto-buys. I had looked forward to this new book. It was Lucas Davenport and Virgil Flowers together again. Yay! But maybe the boredom and burnout of the two characters is a reflection of the author here. There's a killer o ...more

Sandra Brown has always been one of my favorite suspense authors. This time she's in Louisiana and there's a killer on the loose. The hero is a detective who doesn't play by the rules. I thought he did some pretty stupid things that didn't really hel ...more

This was what I've learned is a typical Hazelwood story. The heroine is smart, a real brain, and there's plenty of sex. This time it's kinky. Not my thing, but interesting. The setting is Stanford University in California and the characters are all o ...more

Thanks, Carolyn. I'll be self-publishing it and am trying to finish it now. Now sure it's the absolute last as I still have some ideas that won't let me stop cold turkey. Anyway, sign up for my newsletter at gerrybartlett.com or friend me on Facebook to get the latest on when it will be released. I'm aiming for the next month or two and will have it available in print and e-book, most outlets but not in bookstores, I'm afraid.
