Imagination

When we admire life from its smallest building block, we see the sum of our hopes, fears, desires, dreams and imagination. That is why it is important to choose our thoughts wisely.

Touch Tomorrow

sunrise

I wrote the song, Touch Tomorrow, in 1981. It is funny how a concept that was once so profound could become insignificant later in my life. I currently do not believe that reaching for the future has any benefit when one does not realize the awesomeness of the present. I currently believe it is now! and today! that are the most important aspects of our lives. The lyric now goes against my beliefs that one must reach outside themselves to find happiness and fulfillment. I am simply sharing this lyric I composed while searching for the meaning of life at twenty-three years old.

Touch Tomorrow

I try to touch tomorrow and leave today

I long for chance but it turns away

So now the night drops, into the stars I gaze

Wishing for the Book of Time to turn another page

I try to touch tomorrow and forget I’m here

The dreams of yesterday have all disappeared

The feeling lingers forever in my heart

Of all the hopes that have been torn apart

I need someone to help me

I need someone to help me

Forget today and touch tomorrow

I see little people going nowhere

Hanging dreams on a star that was never there

Some touch petals, some touch thorns

But now I know they’ve not yet been born

They need someone to help them

They need someone to help them

Forget today and touch tomorrow

So I close my eyes and search for paradise

In hope that I may find, inside my weary mind

I can’t feel myself beneath the sky above

I’m a fish without a tail, I’m a ship without a sail

We need someone to help us

We need someone to hear us

We need someone to help us

Forget today and touch tomorrow

Won’t you help me touch tomorrow?
