HUGE SPRING DRUGSTORE HAUL!

HUGE SPRING DRUGSTORE HAUL!

As part of the second instalment of my Spring Trilogy series (check out the first instalment here!) I decided to film the BIGGEST drugstore haul I’ve ever done! I don’t know about you, but there’s something about the change of season that inspires me to head to the shops and check out what new beauty items are hitting the shelves. For me, its also a time when I like to stock up on some of my everyday necessities to see me through the next few months. As well as taking a trip to some of my all time fave drugstore spots in Canada, the other week I also placed a rather large Boots order and ended up with a pretty huge collection of skincare, haircare and makeup goodies. So many of you guys tell me that you love my drugstore hauls and drugstore favourites videos so I really hope that you enjoy reading and watching my latest drugstore offering. Grab yourself a cup of tea for this one!

From the size of this haul you might have already guessed that shopping at the drugstore is one of my all time favourite things to do. When I first moved to London I remember spending hours upon end browsing the shelves of Boots and Superdrug, in awe of all the amazing things that I’d never heard of or seen before!

Soap & Glory is one of my all time favourite drugstore brands. When I hopped off the plane in London all those years ago, the Soap & Glory ‘Clean On Me’ shower gel was one of the first things that I bought and ever since then the signature super sweet scent has always filled me with a sense of nostalgia. Nowadays I always make sure to stock up on ‘Clean On Me’ whenever I notice my own bottle running empty in the shower. Speaking of showers, I also decided to pick up the L’Oreal Botanicals ‘Geranium Radiance Remedy’ Shampoo and matching Conditioning Balm. I’m always on the hunt for new hair products to try, so when I saw that the Botanicals range promised to revive dull, coloured hair I just had to add these babies to my basket. I’m yet to try them out but I already know that they smell incredddddible so I have no doubt that I’m going to love them!

It wouldn’t be a drugstore haul if I didn’t include some makeup items right? Well, that’s what I told myself as I approached the Revlon aisle (eek)! While back home in Canada I stumbled upon the Revlon counter and let me tell you, your girl couldn’t hold back! Revlon have such a beautiful collection of lip products available and I just couldn’t resist coming home with a couple to add to my ever growing collection (oops). I decided to pick up a few of their ‘Super Lustrous’ lipsticks including the shades ‘Sultry Samba’ which is a stunning hot pink colour and ‘Carnival Spirit’ a beautiful, sheer and shiny orange. From Boots I added a couple of the NYX ‘Away We Glow’ Liquid Highlighters in the shades ‘Crystal Glare’ and ‘Liquid Prism’. I hadn’t heard anyone talk about these NYX highlighters before so I thought that I would give them a whirl and see how they look IRL. I was expecting the formula to be quite harsh and require a lot of blending, but actually the pay off is lovely and subtle so I’ll definitely be using them a lot this season.

The products that I’ve mentioned are just a few of the items that I featured in my Drugstore Haul video, so make sure you head over to my YouTube channel to check it out and see what other goodies I’ve picked up recently. I’d love to know what products you guys would recommend that I try so please leave me a comment down below and tell me what your favourites are! I’ll be back soon with the last instalment of my Spring Trilogy series! Until then, enjoy!

‘THINK PINK’ MAKEUP TUTORIAL

'THINK PINK' MAKEUP TUTORIAL

I’m SO excited about publishing this post because this is officially the first post of this year’s Spring Trilogy series! If you’re new to my blog and you don’t know what the Spring Trilogy is, it’s basically something that I started about five years ago where I filmed three Spring filmed videos for my YouTube channel (head on over to my YouTube to keep up with this year’s videos!) So many of you guys have been asking me to put together a Spring Trilogy series again this year and since it seemed to be such a hit I decided that I would put something together to post on my blog too. The first Spring Trilogy instalment of the series is a makeup tutorial and let me tell you, I had so much fun filming and wearing this look! At the moment I’m totally obsessed with pink (you might have seen a post that I published the other week all about some of my favourite pink makeup products) so I thought that it was only right that I showed you guys how to recreate one of my favourite pink makeup looks!

While in Paris a couple of weeks ago I was lucky enough to get the chance to have my makeup done by Elsa, one of the extremely talented makeup artists at Chanel. It’s not often that I get my makeup done by someone else, but when I do I love to let the makeup artist go wild and completely take the reigns. I find it so interesting to see myself through someone else’s eyes and see what kind of look that they think will compliment my features! Elsa did this totally amazing pink eyeshadow look on me which was completely out of this world (I posted a pic on Instagram which you can see here) and made me look like a totally different person! The look was something that I would never normally go for but I loved it so much and found it so fun to wear. For this tutorial I thought I’d try and recreate a more toned down version which is slightly more wearable for everyday.

Pink eyeshadow is something that I would never normally reach for, but since Chanel kindly gave me one of the incredible Eyeshadow Quad’s with the exact same shades that Elsa used to create my look (No 238) I couldn’t resist giving it a whirl myself. After applying my base and tidying up my brows I dabbed a dusting of the lightest pink shade all over my eyelid as well as a teeny weeny wash of colour underneath my eyes. After that I take a little bit of the darker pink onto my brush and swipe that over the top before making sure that it’s all blended in. To add some depth to my eyes I then apply a little swipe of my Mac eyeliner in the shade ‘Teddy’ to my upper lash line before finishing off with a swipe of my favourite Lancôme Grandiôse Extreme Mascara.

YOU NEED THESE IN YOUR LIFE!

I never would have thought that a pink eyeshadow could look so subtle and wearable but I actually think it works really well and looks super gorgeous. After adding my blush (my go-to Lancôme Cushion Blush Subtil in the shade ‘Rose Limonade’) and highlighter (the RMS Living Lumanizer) I finish off the look with a slick of an Antipodes lipstick in the shade ‘Dragonfruit Pink’. When I first tried this look I was so tempted to stick to my comfort zone and apply a subtle nude lip, but I think that wearing a super vibrant pink actually really compliments the eyeshadow. Not only that but the Antipodes lipsticks are the most incredible matte-looking, balm-feeling formula which works perfectly with the rest of the look.

I’d love to know if any of you guys recreate this look at home! I think that this is a really ‘grown up’ way to wear an all-pink look and although it might seem quite daring it actually looks really pretty and surprisingly subtle. This is definitely one of my favourite makeup looks right now so expect to see me all pinked up for the entire Spring season! As well as being obsessed with all-things pink I’m also completely in love with peach toned makeup products, so definitely let me know in the comments down below if you’d like me to show you how I create a peach version of this look. Definitely make sure you head on over to my YouTube channel to see me apply this look IRL!

Stay tuned for more Spring videos!

LINDA RODIN LIPSTICK WARDROBE

LINDA RODIN LIPSTICK WARDROBE

If you’ve never heard of Linda Rodin then you NEED to check her out because she’s pretty much one of the coolest humans to exist on this planet. I’ve been obsessed with her for so long and I’m almost certain that I’ve watched every single interview that Linda has ever done because I really admire her style, her philosophy on life and of course, her beautiful poodle Winks! Linda Rodin has her own collection of cosmetics and the other week whilst watching a video about her on the ‘Into The Gloss’ YouTube channel I felt so inspired to bite the bullet and give some of her products a whirl for myself. Linda has a collection of 5 gorgeous lipsticks and 5 matching liners. The collection is called the ‘Lipstick Wardrobe’ which I think is so fitting because you pretty much have every colour you would ever need in just 5 lipsticks; everything from a beautiful baby pink to a vampy berry shade. I’ve wanted to try these products for SO long so I’m super excited to finally give them a go and tell you guys my first impressions.

The first lip colour that I tried from the collection was the shade ‘So Mod’ which is an absolutely beautiful rosy pink. It comes up a lot paler on my lips than I thought it would and it’s definitely something that I would never normally reach for, however after seeing the finished result I was actually really into it! I feel like this colour works surprisingly well with my pale complexion and just adds something a bit different to a normal, everyday pinky nude. The colour was inspired by the iconic muses of the 60’s including Brigitte Bardot and Twiggy and I can totally sense the 60’s vibe that Linda was going for with ‘So Mod’.

1. ‘WINKS’ LIPSTICK & LINER | 2. ‘RED HEDY’ LIPSTICK & LINER | 3. ‘SO MOD’ LIPSTICK & LINER | 4. ‘BILLIE ON THE BIKE’ LIPSTICK & LINER | 5. ‘TOUGH TOMATO’ LIPSTICK & LINER

Although I am in complete awe of every single shade in Linda Rodin’s lipstick collection I do have 3 favourite colours which are ‘Winks’ (a suuuuuuper vibrant pink), ‘Billie on the Bike’ (a delicious berry) and ‘Tough Tomato’ (a beautiful bold orange). Both the lipsticks and the liners have gorgeously smooth and creamy formulas which make them easy to apply and means that they feel wonderfully hydrating and smooth on your lips. One thing I will say is that you should definitely make sure that you use the matching lip liner whenever you’re wearing one of these lipsticks. I know that it can feel like a tonne of effort to apply a liner at times (trust me, I hate spending hours in front of the mirror so I totally get it!) but the liner really helps to lock in the product and ensure that the colour doesn’t smudge or run from your lips. Whenever I wear a lip liner I always notice how much longer the colour lasts on my lips and it makes it look so much more neat and precise.

All in all I’m completely in love with this entire collection and I’m so glad that I tried all 5 of the shades. Linda has definitely inspired me to be more confident with my makeup and rock a bold lip every now and again. What I love about these lipsticks is that although they’re super vibrant, they actually feel really versatile and I could see myself wearing any of these colours on a day-to-day basis rather than just saving them for a special occasion. If you want to see me try these bold colours on IRL then definitely make sure you head on over to my YouTube channel to watch me apply these babies for the first time! Let me know if you’ll be rocking any of the Linda Rodin lipsticks and liners, I know I will!

PRETTY IN PINK

PRETTY IN PINK

Lately I’ve found myself obsessing over all things pink. Despite not being a girly girl, I’ve always loved pink, but it’s kind of reaching new heights lately. It doesn’t matter what it is, whether it’s a bunch of beautiful flowers, a cute little bowl for the kitchen or a gorgeous rose tinted lipstick, if it’s pink, I want it! Maybe its something to do with the fact that Spring is starting to make an appearance here in London, or maybe its just a phase that I’m going through. Whatever the reason, I’m certain that my love for all-things-pink isn’t going to go away any time soon. That’s why for this blog post I decided to show you a few of my favourite beauty items that happen to be pink. Enjoy!

YSL Rouge Volupte Shine ’50 Fuchsia Stiletto’
A pink lip has always been (and will forever be) one of my favourite looks to wear, and this YSL lipstick in the shade ‘Fuchsia Stiletto’ definitely takes the biscuit (how British am I!?). I love adding a slick of this gorgeously pigmented colour to a subtle makeup look, it adds something super special and fresh to an otherwise natural looking face. The formula is really nourishing, surprisingly moisturising and feels like a real treat to apply. Feeling brave? Give this one a go!

Geranim Odorata Roll-On Perfume
This roll-on perfume by Diptyque smells absolutely heavenly, Geranium Odorata is without a doubt one of my most favourite scents from the Diptyque collection. If floral is your thang, this perfume is the one for you. Geranium Odorata is super fresh, clean and crisp smelling, with a gorgeous mix of Bergamot, Pink Peppercorn, Geranium Bourbon and Rose Geranium. This perfume will always remind me of summer because I tend to reach for it during the warmer months, the smell reminds me of blossom and flower-filled gardens, so it seems only right to wear this baby during my favourite seasons. I love roll on perfumes because they’re so easy to chuck into the bottom of a handbag or stow away in a jacket pocket. I’m a real sucker for fragrance so I like to make sure that my perfume doesn’t fade too much while I’m out and about. Roll on products make it even easier for me to top up my scent throughout the day which is perfect for me. All I do is roll a little perfume onto my wrists, neck and collar bones and I’m ready to go. Give this perfume a go if you’re a fan of floral!

Zelens Lip Glaze ‘Rose’
This Zelens Lip Glaze is a product that I’ve been reaching for more and more lately, I just love this stuff! It’s perfect for I’m feeling lazy and don’t have the patience to pop on a lip liner or carefully apply my lipstick, all I do is take out the wand and swipe it evenly over my lips. The formula is of this lip glaze contains collagen so it really helps to give your lips a boost of volume and give them a gorgeously plump look with a subtle hint of colour. The Zelens Lip Glaze is also infused with green shiso leaves which help to protect your lips from the damaging effects of the environment (perfect for any of you guys that live in the city like me!). It’s not super pigmented which is nice for those more natural days. Get yours here.

Nailberry Nail Polish ‘In Love’
A good nude is my go-to colour for my nails; it’s classic, minimal and looks good with pretty much every outfit. Although it’s rare that you’ll find me with anything else but nude (or red) on my nails, sometimes when the mood strikes I love to apply a slick of something gorgeously bright and daring. I love this Nailberry Nail Polish in the shade ‘In Love’, it’s such a delicious-looking candy coloured pink and I just can’t get enough of it! This polish adds something cute to every outfit and I love it! I pair it my classic camel coat, a crisp white shirt, washed denim jeans and some tan boots and I’m good to go. Paint away with your own Nailberry Polish.

By Terry Baume De Rose Hand Cream
You guys know by now that I’m the world’s biggest fangirl when it comes to By Terry products. I’m pretty much in love with everything By Terry and the Baume De Rose Hand Cream is no exception. This hand cream is my saviour! I’ve been fighting a constant battle with my dry skin since I can remember and when winter rolls around my hands are the first things to notice the bitterly cold air. The formula is surprisingly light given how intensely nourishing it feels on my hands. With a delicious concoction of rose butter, rose flower essential wax and rosehip oil, this hand cream leaves my skin feeling smooth and regenerated, not to mention that much like all the other products in the By Terry range, it smells absolutely wonderful! You NEED this in your life! Get your mitts on this gorgeous hand cream here.

Lancôme Cushion Blush Subtil ‘Splash Coral’
I absolutely adore this compact cushion blush by Lancôme (I have an entire post about these coming soon)! I love this stuff because it’s so buildable, the cushion applicator means that you have great control over how much product you want to apply to your face and how intense you want the finished look to be. It’s super easy to apply, just dab the cushion applicator (or a brush or your fingers) into the product, bounce onto your cheeks and voila! On first impressions the colour can look a bit daunting, but trust me when I say that this blush gives off a really natural, dewy look. Add some colour with your own Lancôme Cushion Blush.

So those are just a few of my favourite pink items from my beauty drawer. I’d love to know if you guys have any recommendations of pink products that I should try! Let me know in the comments down below if you do. My obsession with this beautiful colour isn’t going to go away any time soon, I’ve been lusting over so many gorgeous pink clothes, bags and shoes too! I’ve had a number of pink items lingering in my shopping baskets for a few weeks and now that spring is making its appearance I think it’s the perfect time to bite the bullet and add these pieces to my wardrobe. If any of you guys are just as pink mad as I am, here’s a few of the bits that I’ve been lusting over recently. *Warning* you will want EVERYTHING!

BEHIND THE SCENES WITH CHANEL

BEHIND THE SCENES WITH CHANEL

A couple of weeks back, I was lucky enough to be asked by Chanel (yes, THE Chanel), to attend a once in a lifetime trip to Paris with two of my blogger baes, Amelia and Victoria. Chanel invited us along on an adventure to check out their stunning Beauty Boutique and take us on the most amazing tour around Coco Chanel’s apartment (OMG!!) I also had the chance to get my makeup done by one of the Chanel makeup artists (she does Kirsten Stewart’s makeup *fangirls*) who made me look like a totally different human with a daring dark pink look which I adored! (You can check out the finished results here!)

While sitting here writing this post, I’ve realised that I’m actually lost for words when it comes to trying to sum up just how amazing Coco Chanel’s apartment really is. Walking up the beautiful spiral stairs and through the front door into the apartment was one of the most surreal moments of my life! I really tried to imagine her walking through the space and entertaining inside. Every room was the epitome of chic; every corner adorned with the most beautiful and ornate gold accessories. Amelia, Victoria and I were pretty much speechless throughout the entire tour, we were just desperate to try and take as much in as we could and store it in our memory banks for the rest of our lives!

Although I found it hard to contain my excitement throughout the entire tour, arguably my favourite part of the experience was getting to immerse myself into Coco’s office space. What I loved about this room is that it was filled with tonnes of beautiful deep red toned books which reflected an iconic shade of Chanel lipstick that she created. I also discovered that Coco was a fellow Leo which was represented by the beautiful gold lions in almost every room. I’m making it my personal mission to leo-ify my house (what a Leo thing to do!). It was incredible to see such an intimate insight into one of the world’s most notorious designers in history!

As you might have guessed from my collection, Chanel is one of my favourite beauty brands. Personally, nothing makes me feel quite as special as finishing off makeup look with a slick of Chanel lipstick. My favourite shade is ‘Boy’ which is a nude that makes me feel like a million dollars and I’m confident that I’m not the only makeup lover that feels this way. There’s something about the Chanel collection that feels so luxurious, as if it should be saved for special occasions to add to that extra special feeling even more.

I’m a huge fangirl of anything Chanel but lately I’ve been super into the new Rouge Coco Glosses, which we were introduced to on the trip. I’m such a ‘gloss’ kinda girl, but only if they’re non-sticky! I can assure you that these glosses are going to be an all-time favourite for me. They feel like a silky, moisturising balm and they come in the most gorgeous shades. 714 ‘Caresse’ is my ultimate though, it’s a beautiful terracotta nude shade which is right up my street. I’m also a massive fan of the Le Rouge Crayon de Couleurs which are a collection of easy-to-apply lip crayons that come in THE most gorgeous selection of shades ever!

Of course I’m a fan of pretty much everything from the Chanel makeup collection and as a self-confessed hoarder of fragrances, the classic Chanel perfumes are some of my most treasured in my stash. The infamous No 5 L’eau is of course one of my go-to’s thanks to its fresh, floral scent which sums up everything I look for in a fragrance. It’s a lot younger than the original and definitely more wearable for me.

You might also have heard me mention the Chanel Blue Serum once or twice and that’s because it has been a permanent fixture in my skincare collection for quite some time. As someone who suffers with dry, sensitive skin, the soothing and hydrating properties of the Blue Serum make this stuff my skin’s saviour. I religiously apply a pea sized amount of this serum to my skin every morning and night after cleansing.

I hope you enjoyed reading all about my amazing trip to Paris with Chanel, as well as learning a little more about my favourite Chanel makeup and skincare products. Huge thanks to the wonderful team and Chanel for bringing me along on this adventure and making so many special memories!

FRESH UMBRIAN CLAY: A CLOSER LOOK

Last week I was lucky enough to hop on a flight to Italy with Fresh to learn more about where they source the very special Umbrian Clay they use in their skincare products. We were also the first people to see the limited edition new collaboration with Rometti Ceramics. As someone who already uses the Umbrian Clay Mask at least once a week I was especially curious to learn more about the development of the products as well as how Fresh discovered this very special clay. Lev and Alina are the founders of Fresh and were also the hosts of the trip, which was very special because we could learn directly from them and ask them any questions we had. Lev and Alina are some of the most generous and genuinely great people to be around, so it was great to spend time with them in such a beautiful setting.

On the first day we headed to Asissi, Italy where we went on a guided tour of the Basilica of Saint Francis of Asissi. After that we headed to the Nun Spa and Museum which was such a treat! We had a few hours to spend in the hot tub and sauna before having a glorious facial using Fresh products. I was very relaxed!

On day two we were taken to the quarry where the Umbrian clay is sourced and we also got to see inside the factory that turns the clay from dirt onto the ground to a useable ingredient for skincare. I especially love that the factory uses only water from the creek beside the factory when producing the final product.

Umbrian Clay has been the basis of therapeutic treatments for centuries and is one of the earliest known cosmetic ingredients. Umbria was home to the ancient Etruscans and first Romans, and the discovery of white clay tablets inside the 6th century BC tombs of the Etruscans suggests that the clay possessed mystical meaning for this ancient civilization.

If you’ve never tried the Fresh Umbrian Clay products before I honestly can’t recommend them enough. I have very dry skin, so using clay masks is usually a bit of a no-no for me…until I discovered Umbrian Clay. It has a high-mineral content that works to help balance, purify, and clarify the complexion. I didn’t realise this, but Lev told us that they did loads of research about different types of clay and this was the only one that doesn’t completely dry out the skin and leave it feeling desperate for moisture. It’s suitable for all skin types and is genuinely my favourite clay mask I’ve ever used. Other ingredients in the mask include Sandalwood oil which is known for its astringent properties and helps to calm the skin, Chamomile flower and lavender water are notable for their soothing properties and Olive leaf extract helps to promote suppleness and is known to protect against free radicals.

I was also introduced to the Umbrian Clay Treatment Bar which is 100% clay and is great to use on the face as well as the body. I’ve started using this in the shower and I think it’s great.

On the last and final day in Italy we were taken to Rometti Ceramics to finally see the collaboration with Fresh. They teamed up to create a little ‘house’ for the Umbrian Clay mask and we learned about the entire process of making this beautiful and bespoke jar. Rometti was founded in 1927 where local artists create handmade objects using clay pulled from a local quarry that dates back to Roman times. Rometti’s limited-edition design for Fresh features an Etruscan figure in homage to the clay’s origins. This woman, chosen to represent beauty, is updated with a modern silhouette and set against a bold geometric pattern. And while Rometti is usually known for stark colours, the packaging features a soft, earthy palette inspired by the Umbrian landscape.

Huge thank you to Fresh for bringing me along on this dream trip! I had such a fantastic time (despite losing my voice) and made memories that will last a lifetime!

The Limited-Edition Umbrian Clay Purifying Mask (£52) will be available in May 2017 at Fresh boutiques, Harrods and fresh.com/uk.

Check out the rest of the Fresh Umbrian Clay range here.

LUST LIST: HIGH STREET BAGS

LUST LIST: HIGH STREET BAGS

You might have noticed by now that I have a bit of a weakness when it comes to beautiful bags. Handbags always have been (and probably always will be) the one thing that I find almost impossible to resist. The thing that I love about bags is that they can completely MAKE your look. Pair a beautiful red leather cross body with a monochrome outfit and it becomes instantly lifted and transformed. With the warmer weather fast approaching, I’ve been scouring the internet searching for some beautiful accessories to add to my spring wardrobe, and for this blog post I thought I’d share some of the high street handbags that have been tugging on my heart strings. Although it’s nice to treat myself to something more luxurious every once in a while, I’m still a sucker for a good quality, affordable bag. Here’s a few of my faves that I’ve been eyeing up recently.

When it comes to high street accessories, I’ve been having a bit of a love affair with Mango. A few months back, I’d never really have thought to head to their site or step into one of their stores, but lately they’ve been releasing so many beautiful pieces that I’ve found myself stalking their website almost every evening! The thing that I love about Mango is that they have the perfect mix of versatile, timeless accessories and show-stopping statement pieces. Zara and Topshop are also my ride or dies when it comes to handbags; they’re always so on trend and every visit to one of their stores gives me heart eyes. What are your favourite stores to visit when you’re on the hunt for affordable accessories? Are there any places that I should check out on my search for the perfect handbag? Let me know in the comments! Make sure you check below for the links to all the bags that I’ve mentioned in this post!

CLUTCHES:  EMBROIDERY GOALS | TOUCAN CUTIE | LEAFY LOVE | PATCHWORK HEAVEN

BACKPACKS: REPTILE STYLE | WICKER DREAMS | FLOWER POWER | SUPER CHIC

HANDBAGS: BRAIDED LEATHER | BAMBOO HANDLE | STRUCTURED TOTE | WOVEN LEATHER

HARVEY NICHOLS: THE WELLNESS EDIT

HARVEY NICHOLS: THE WELLNESS EDIT

Harvey Nichols is one of my favourite department stores in London because it has a unique selection and it has something for everyone. It’s still a busy place, but it’s not quite as hectic as some of the Oxford Circus area department stores which makes for a more leisurely shopping experience. Anyway, Harvey Nichols has launched a new beauty lounge at the flagship store which offers an edit of express services and hand picked products. I haven’t had a chance to pop down yet, but the next spare chance I get I’ll be heading over for a few treatments. Check it out here.

To celebrate the launch of the new lounge they have created something called The Wellness Edit which is a selection of luxury beauty and wellbeing products. Here’s a look at some of them!

Karen Walker ‘Runaway’ Perfume
I’m a bit of a self-confessed hoarder when it comes to fragrances and this perfume by Karen Walker is a welcome addition to my ever-growing collection. Runaway is quite a spicy, exotic fragrance with a deep, smoky undertone so it’s probably the kind of perfume that I’d save for evenings. Give this one a go if you’re a fan of woody perfumes.

Potion London ‘Probiotic Capsules’
I’ve never been one to stick to a daily routine of taking vitamins or supplements, but I know loads of people who swear by them. This particular supplement provides 5 BILLION probiotic bacteria (I don’t know about you, but that thought makes me feel slightly uneasy!?), which help to regulate your blood cholesterol, support your immune system and improve your resistance to allergies. This probiotic also encourages your gut to absorb loads of healthy nutrients alongside helping to support weight management and improve the appearance of your skin. Maybe I should give it a try?

This Works ‘Stress Check Breathe In’
I’ve been a fan of all things ‘This Works’ for quite some time, so when I discovered the ‘This Works’ Stress Check Beathe In oil in my box of Harvey Nichs goodies I was so excited! The Stress Check Breathe In is a calming blend of fragrant oils which you can apply to your pulse points to reduce tension and anxiety.  The thing that I love the most about ‘This Works’ products is that every single item from their collection smells absolutely wonderful and really does help to soothe your senses and calm your mind. This therapeutic treatment contains a beautiful blend of Lavender Oil which helps to reduce tensions and insomnia, Eucalyptus to fight fatigue and Frankincense to boost your immune system. Usually I like to roll a little of the formula onto my pulse points, however you can also roll it into a tissue or into your hands before inhaling.

Sisley White Ginger Contouring Oil for Legs
This White Ginger Contouring Oil by Sisley is absolutely dreamy. I’m not going to lie, this stuff is particularly pricey but its definitely one of those products that feels like the definition of luxury to wear and apply. This oil has been designed to immediately sooth sensations of discomfort and restores lightness and tone to the legs. The formula contains White Ginger which helps to combat fatigue, Essential Oils of Rosemary and Litsea Cubebe to tone, Gelidivum Extract to remodel and Shea oil to enhance. It’s said to be slimming, firming and contouring and leave a silky veil on the skin. Something that I love about this oil is that it doesn’t leave a greasy residue and I don’t have to dance about in my underwear for an hour while waiting for the formula to soak into my skin; it’s super hydrating and nourishing but allows me to dress quickly after I’ve applied it. This oil isn’t something that I’ll be using as part of my daily routine, but it’s certainly a product that I’ll be saving for special occasions. Check it out if you’re curious!

Sophie James ‘The Fan’ Scented Candle
In my Harvey Nichs Wellness Edit parcel I was lucky enough to receive a scented candle by Sophie James. ‘The Fan’ candle has a wonderfully light, fresh and floral fragrance which is thanks to its beautiful blend of Lemon, Grapefruit and Bergamot notes. I’m usually a fan of scents that are slightly deeper and more smoky than this, but something about that clean, citrus aroma has got me hooked. I have a feeling that this fresh and fruity candle is going to work perfectly as we transition into Spring.

Radial ‘Bee Venom Micro Sting Patches’

I’m not going to lie, I’m a little bit nervous to try out these bee venom micro-sting patches by Rodial. Call me crazy, but I’m not sure that I’m completely comfortable with applying something to my face which promises to inject my skin with ‘venom’. To apply, just remove each patch from its protective film and position carefully onto the face (recommended areas to apply are on smile lines, crow’s feed, under eyes or over forehead creases), firmly press the patch onto the skin and remove the plastic sheet. Leave it on for 30-60 minutes depending on how much treatment you need. After using the patches regularly you should start to notice that your skin looks plumper and smoother and any visible crow’s feet, smile or frown lines will have started to vanish. Just make sure that you steer clear from these patches if you have any allergies to bee stings and patch testing prior to use is highly recommended! I’m always wiling to try something new, but I don’t think I’m quite the target demographic for this product so maybe I’ll convince my mom to be the guinea pig! Hee hee!

Let me know if you’ve been to the new Harvey Nichol’s space! Do any of these products sound interesting to you?

LOLA JAMES HARPER: CANDLES, PERFUMES & HOME FRAGRANCE

LOLA JAMES HARPER: CANDLES, PERFUMES & HOME FRAGRANCE

I’m obsessed with anything that makes my home smell special, so Lola James Harper thought that they would send me a handful of their beautiful products to test and try. Something that I really admire about the Lola James Harper range is that every single one of their candles, perfumes and home fragrances is inspired by memories of founder Rami Mekdachi’s favourite places, people and things. Even though the fragrances are obviously very personal to the Rami, there’s still something within each scent that feels nostalgic to me. Rami is a professional perfumer by trade and that’s something that really translates in his gorgeous range of candles and sprays. It’s clear that he really understands how imperative scent is in igniting some of our forgotten memories. Lola James Harper is slightly high on the pricey spectrum, but if scent is something that is really important to you, then these pieces are definitely worth checking out.

Within the parcel I was lucky enough to receive two of the Lola James Harper Eau De Toilette’s and I adore them both! I’m quite picky when it comes to fragrances, so the fact that I have been wearing these on alternate days shows how much I really do love them. I was gifted a bottle of the fragrance ‘No 27 Do What You Love With the People You Love’ as well as a bottle of ‘No 23 Everything Will Come Together’. The names are simply fantastic aren’t they!? These scents are completely different from each other, but both equally beautiful in their own right. On first impressions the notes of Iris, Rose, Vanilla and (perhaps most interestingly) Carrot, make No 27 appear super light and floral but the subtle hint of Patchouli gives it a lovely musky feel. No 23 is the woodier scent out of the two, with notes of Oakmoss, Vetiver, Bergamot, Neroli and Chilli. So many of the perfumes by Lola James Harper contain notes that I think are rare and unique and that’s something that I really love about this range!

As well as becoming the proud owner to two of the Lola James Harper Perfumes, I’m super excited to be able to add two of their beautiful candles to my collection. The team kindly sent me one of the ‘No 1 – TV Basement of Jonet’ candles alongside a ‘No 16 – The Woody Office of Daddy’. I love both of these and as soon as I lit them my whole office was full of their luxurious-smelling scents; they’re super fragranced so you only need to have them lit for a short amount of time to notice the smell drifting around your house. No 1 is inspired by Rami’s friend Jonet’s basement in her house. Apparently her basement used to smell of old leather couches, dusty carpets and wooden furniture, so this is translated into the candle with notes of Patchouli and Sandalwood.

No 16 is inspired by Rami’s father’s office; a place which smelled of old books, pencils, paper and wooden tools and Rami uses notes of Mahogany and Sandalwood to reflect that. It’s super deep, smoky and mysterious, so if you’re into smoky scents then this candle is the one for you.

Since testing out a few pieces from the Lola James Harper range I’ve felt compelled to add a few more to my fragrance and candle collection. At the moment I have my eye on a couple of the home sprays, in particular ‘No 5 – The White Coffee on Teta’s Balcony’ and ‘No 8 – The Red Garden of Tata and Jeddo’. No 5 sounds super fresh with its notes of orange blossom and honey (right up my street) while No 8 is fragranced with notes of exotic plants, oakmoss and carrot. I was so impressed by the pieces that I received from the Lola James Harper range and I know they’ll become some of my all time favourites. Let me know if you give any of the candles, perfumes or home fragrances a try. I’m curious to know what your favourite fragrances are!
