My writer buddy Nancy Corrigan tagged me to play the lucky seven game, in which writers post seven sentences from page 7 or 77, seven lines down the page, from their current work in progress. Then I tag seven other lucky writers to participate!
I’m working on two pieces right now–one is a writing treatise and the other’s a Sherlock Holmes fanfic, called Sherlock’s Scandal–it’s in editing at the moment. I can’t imagine that anyone other than another writer wold be interested in the writing treatise! So here’s a snippet from the fanfic. Hope you like it! It will be released in a couple of months.

This blog poses a question: is it cool to create a blog that takes advantage of more than one blog hop at the same time?

 Caressing her head, he turned her so he could kiss her mouth while he continued to move inside her, tiny little thrusts, but enough to push her toward the rapture she knew she could reach…with his help.
And she did, more quickly this time, as though her body had started to learn the path toward completion and to tread it with sure feet. He came with her; she sensed his growing need from the tension in his body and the speed with which he surged inside her, little hammering prods that strengthened until he was gripping her hard and slamming into her solidly.
She clutched his shoulders and spread her knees wide, altogether open to him and he responded by snarling out his climax before he buried his face in her hair—to quiet his cries, she supposed. He ground his hips hard against her cunny and she screamed into his neck as the colors surrounded her.
A sharp sting bit her throat, a bright counterpoint to the afterglow that already was dragging her down into sleep. Dugald was nibbling on her neck as he spurted, his seed shooting over her belly, a sign that life could continue even in this tiny, wretched grotto surrounded by rot and death. He sucked hard at her throat, and she arched her body with a whimper that betokened her utter surrender.

Like Dragons? Like Kick-Ass Heroines? Meet Beth Barany and Henrietta

On Kick Ass Heroines by Beth Barany

When I first started blogging about kick ass heroines in 2011 when my first YA fantasy came out, I actually started out by calling it the Bad Girl Archetype. I said that the Bad Girl archetype is a powerful and ancient one, and well represented in our modern stories. The Bad Girl archetype is about reclaiming female power for the good of the community and for benefit of the Bad Girl, who sometimes becomes more than just a Bad Girl.

Who was that more? I realized that there was more to the Bad Girl than being a bad ass, so I focused on the Kick Ass heroine archetype in my blogging.

In normal everyday life, I don’t know about you, but I have to be polite. (Okay I don’t have to… but I am). I can’t go around punching or kicking folks. I’m not five, anymore. Actually, I wasn’t that kind of kid, where any of the adults could see me. But I was a bully sometimes to my young siblings. Is that why I love bad-ass or kick-ass heroines? I don’t know. Actually I think it’s my nature to be a warrior, but there isn’t enough women warrior archetypes in my life, so I wrote about one! Yep, she’s Henrietta The Dragon Slayer in a book by the same name. And her adventures continue in Book 2, Henrietta and the Dragon Stone.

He knew with that question she was agreeing to their touch, but he held in the shout of triumph. He put up a shield net around them. It wouldn’t hurt anyone who encountered it, but it would warn them of the approach. “Before you get even a whiff of a strange scent, we’ll know.”

“Um, you’d better be sure of that.” She smirked tauntingly. “My nose is very good.”

“We’re doubly sure, baby.” Kane nipped at her neck and pulled her closer. “Now give me a kiss and let us get acquainted with your body.”

“You held me last night,” she whispered the words. She leaned toward him and her mouth raised for the kiss.

“Not like we wanted to. We had clothes on and I wanted to feel every inch of your skin on mine.” Michael drew his hands down the outsides of her thighs and then back up them. He didn’t want to force her into more than she was ready to accept.

“I wanted that too.” Alana barely got the words out before Kane’s lips covered hers.

Michael explored the curve of her thigh, ass and up to her waist. He pushed the shirt up while his hands traveled over the warm skin of her belly. He wanted to go slow, but he needed to touch her in some way. He’d love to see it, but he wanted to let her relax a little more.

She moaned and her stomach tightened beneath his fingers. He loved the sound. He wanted to learn how she responded to the feel of his lips, what she liked and what sent her right over the edge. His imagination didn’t come close to how sweet it was to touch and simply be with her.

“What do you want us to do? What do you like?” Michael trailed his fingers up her ribs.

Alana wiggled. Her mouth tore away from Kane’s. “Tickles a little. Touch me anywhere. My breasts, my legs, my—”

Michael held back a laugh when her voice cut off as Kane’s lips once again closed over hers. Michael took the “anywhere” as an invitation. He unbuttoned her shirt slowly. He gave her time to object to the touch. She didn’t even tense. Once he reached the last button, he spread the fabric wide, baring her to his gaze.

He licked his lips at the sight of her breasts in a pink lacy bra. He wanted to peel the the delicate lingerie off of her slowly, but at the same time, he ached to rip it away and bare those gorgeous mounds. The fabric loosened and he realized his brother must have unfastened the catch at her back. Michael tugged it down and let it hang beneath her breasts, the straps caught up on her arms with her shirt.

Those firm mounds entranced him. They were perfect. Not too full, but enough to provide a nice bit of cleavage and the perfect amount to suck and nibble. He reached out and drew his fingers across the underside of one. He traced the mound, staying carefully away from the nipple even though he’d love to touch and taste. Not too fast. He kept the litany in his head. Her hand covered his and pressed it to her breast.

He reveled in the knowledge she wanted more. He was happy to give it to her.  His fingers tightened He squeezed the mound and stroked his thumb over the taut nipple. Her back arched, mashing her breast tighter into his hand. A soft groan rolled from her, muffled by Kane’s mouth. Michael used his free hand to pluck at the nipple of her right breast while he squeezed and caressed the left.

Alana groaned and her legs shifted restlessly.

Check and see, definitely his pleasure. He let his hand trail down her bare stomach to the closure of her pants. He’d love to strip her out of them, but she’d feel to exposed and vulnerable here. Drawing his fingers over the zipper, he let his eyes trail up over her taut body. His fingertips trailed down the seam between her legs.

“I think I feel a little moisture here.” Michael drew his finger up and down the seam over her sweet cunt.

“Touch me, Michael.” Alana’s thighs widened more and her hips lifted.

“Better give our Familiar what she needs. She might decide to make you pay if you don’t.” Kane spread kisses from her neck back up to her lips.

Both of them knew she wasn’t talking about the air mattress. He had to say something, anything, before he jumped her bones like the love-starved, pathetic fool he was.
“Did you, uh, know you have your own washer-dryer?” Suave, Fisher, really suave. Jerking his gaze away from her, he reached for the knob of a small closet on his left. Opening it, he showed her the apartment-sized setup.
“Oh, that’s nice.” The sexy timbre of Valerie’s voice altered into innocent delight.
He breathed easier. “Works great too. If you ever have a problem, just let me know.”
Valerie looked into Fisher’s eyes and smiled. “Yes.” Coupled with the female heat in her smile, the implications weighing that one word tied his tongue into twenty knots, sucked every molecule of air from his lungs and forced all the blood in his body southward.
She was temptation incarnate. Though he knew it was wrong, he couldn’t help wanting her, and if he didn’t get out of her orbit soon, he’d kiss her. He’d be a goner. If he kissed her, everything would change. He would change, and he couldn’t handle that.
