My writer buddy Nancy Corrigan tagged me to play the lucky seven game, in which writers post seven sentences from page 7 or 77, seven lines down the page, from their current work in progress. Then I tag seven other lucky writers to participate!
I’m working on two pieces right now–one is a writing treatise and the other’s a Sherlock Holmes fanfic, called Sherlock’s Scandal–it’s in editing at the moment. I can’t imagine that anyone other than another writer wold be interested in the writing treatise! So here’s a snippet from the fanfic. Hope you like it! It will be released in a couple of months.

When he’d loosened the gown, he let it drop to the carpet. Billowing waves of blue velvet surrounded me, and he stepped inside the circle. I thought that surely he would strip me of my petticoats, corset and camisole next, rendering me naked as soon as he could, but he had spoken the truth about patience.
