And .... drum roll ... we have cover!

From award-winning romance author Loreth Anne White comes a story of justice, loyalty, and unbreakable bonds that is both a thrilling mystery and a moving love story. Newly exonerated ex-con Jeb Cullen is determined to prove his innocence to his former neighbors and win back the heart of Rachel Salonen, the only woman he’s ever loved.
Nine years after her testimony helped put Jeb behind bars, Rachel’s life is finally getting back to normal. But it’s turned upside down by the sudden death of her sister and her new responsibility for her sister’s adopted daughter, Quinn.
Now Jeb is back in his hometown, and he’s willing to risk everything to discover who was really responsible for the crime he was accused of. But there are people in Snowy Creek who will do anything to keep the truth buried, a truth that could tear the sleepy town apart and cost Jeb everything he holds dear.

THE SLOW BURN OF SILENCE coming Aug 5 from Montlake Romance

The ScoopI'm thrilled to announce that Montlake, Amazon Publishing's romance imprint, has acquired my first indie release, PIECES OF YOU ~ A Romantic Thriller. This means that the book has now been pulled from the marketplace and will be repackaged, re-titled and re-launched as THE SLOW BURN OF SILENCE, a Montlake frontlist title, on Aug 5, 2014.
A big thank you to everyone who helped with the 'soft launch' and who took the time to write thoughtful reviews. It all helped bring the book to the attention of Amazon, and I couldn't be happier for the partnership!
This means 'Annie's story' (BROKEN INTO YOU wt), the sequel, will have to wait a little longer to reach readers, but in the meanwhile, please stay tuned for news of a brand new romantic thriller coming soon by signing up for my Newsletter ---> here.

Why I write ...it's equipment for living
@ Melanie , a reader, asked in a post on my Facebook author page what it is that inspires me to write. I could have been glib and said, as many authors do, that I don't actually like writing--I like having written. Because the process is as often frustrating and hateful and time-consuming as it can be enjoyable. I could also have said that it's much more fun to make up things in fiction than to tell the truth, as was the goal in my old job of journalism. But then there's often more truth in fiction than 'news'-- fiction has to make sense.
I think, at the root of it, it's more about loving and being inspired by STORY than writing. Story, as screenplay guru Robert McKee says: " ...rivals all activities--work, play, eating, exercise--for our waking hours, and even then, we dream. Why? … because Stories are equipment for living. " They are metaphor for life.
A Story is about emotion and values, which are at the soul of art. A writer, says McKee, shapes Story around a perception of what's worth living for, what's worth dying for, what's foolish to pursue, the meaning of justice, truth…all the essential values that make us human. Or not.
And in reading them, in listening to Stories told in a pub, on the bus, when someone returns from a trip afar, or from the grocery store down the road, we hold mirrors up to ourselves and examine our place in society, our belief systems. We get to feel emotion vicariously, without the danger. We experiment and question our own values. And we root for a hero who gets to win! That gives us both pleasure and power in our own lives.
And yep … a long winded answer

USA TODAY's HEA weighs in on Pieces Of You
USA Today's HEA weighs in on PIECES OF YOU!- "Pieces of You is electrifying and engrossing, a provocative, intense, tiptop thriller. Loreth Anne White can't get me back to Snowy Creek fast enough...
...The setting — a ski community in the mountains of British Columbia — is majestic and merciless, and plays a pivotal role in the story. It's a close, closed off community, surrounded by glaciers and harboring seething emotion. White's deft descriptions, and her inspired use of Snowy Creek's natural features, add striking menace and full tilt tension..."
Thank you to the fabulous @Kathy Altman!
