Chasing my forever review and release blitz, Heidi McLaughlin

3.5 stars.
I have enjoyed the whole Beaumont world, but I find these next gen stories a bit rushed and lacking something.In this book, I found it started really slowly and the two characters had so little overlap that it just didn’t make sense to me. I also felt that the end was cut short, like way short. It was almost as if she ran out of time and had to finish where she was. Still, I like Quinn. I liked Nola. I still don’t really like Elle.  All in all, this series is a little strange for me. I can tell there will be any number of spin offs but I’m unsure whether I’ll continue.

The Boneless Mercies review, April Tucholke

This was an interesting book. I loved the premise of it, four young girls, warriors really, making their way in the world.This book is rich in characters, from the four girls, to Trigve, to Sasha and Roth.But I felt it was lacking something, a bit of punch, something to spice it up.For me, I would've liked a bit more romance, just to give the book a bit of depth. I also felt the battle scenes were over too quickly and a little bit anti climatic.
Still, the cast of characters is great and the book is enjoyable for this reason alone. Give this book a try, I think it's worth your time.

I really liked this book. It’s been a while since I’ve read a dancer book and this one quenched the thirst.Lex is a cute character, naive but not annoyingly like it can come across as.Theo is a little dark, a little troubled, and a lot closed off but I like it. Together they’re a great couple.I will say the storyline is a bit predictable, but again, not to an annoying point. 
This is a great, light read where you can lose yourself for just a little bit. Give it a go, it’s worth your time!

I stretch my arm toward the wall and turn out the lights. With the light snuffed out, my other senses rise, hunting for her in the dark. The smell of her hair and her quick, shallow breaths. My sight adjusts until the heavy black curtain completely obscuring her fades to gray. Light from the outer room spills under the door, revealing just the shape, the outline of her, but still camouflaging details. I cup her cheek, taking a moment to appreciate the softness of her skin, the silky hair brushing my knuckles. I’m not an idiot. She wants the lights out because she’s self-conscious, but from my perspective, she has nothing to be ashamed of. “I think you’re beautiful, Ban.” “You do?” she asks, her voice hushed. My words surprise me as much as they seem to surprise her, because I don’t say shit like that to girls. The prettiest ones usually seem to already know, which makes any admiration I’d express redundant. But Banner . . . she’s so beautiful, and I’m not sure she knows. “I do.” I push the hair away from her face. “Uh . . . thank you.” Her laugh isn’t much more than a breath. “The lights are out, so I’m not sure that compliment counts.” “I know your face by heart. You have seven freckles here.” I swipe a finger over the straight bridge of her nose and drift down to caress her full lips and the tiny dent in her cheek her smile displays. “And a dimple right here.” I explore the smooth skin of her nape, under a heavy fall of hair. “Now I want to know your body, too,” I say softly. “Take off your clothes for me, Banner.” After a sharply indrawn breath, she raises her arms. I approximate her by touch, reaching for her arms and closing my fingers around the softness, the velvety skin. I lower my head and run my nose along her neck, discovering. “You always smell so good.” I’ve wanted to tell her that since the first night we studied here. “Pretty Pastel,” she replies, her laugh low, nervous. “What?” I pause. “The smell. It’s my dryer sheets. Yesterday is gone review and release blitz, HJ Bellus

I loved this book. It was sweet, it was angsty, it was dramatic.Whit was an absolute shining star.Jesse was so hot!This was a great second chance story. One thing I would’ve liked however, is a bit more detail at the start. I would’ve liked to have seen Jesse and Jules when they were high school students, and also maybe what happened after graduation.I also found the events after the grocery store a little confusing and Jules’s attitudes so quick to change, without much justification. Still, this was a great book. I enjoyed it and I think you will too!

Block shot review and release blitz, Kennedy Ryan

I really liked this book. I liked how unabashedly honest Jared was. I like how he was unapologetic for who he is and how he went about things. I think he was really the core of this book and that makes it great. Don’t get me wrong, Banner is incredible, someone every woman should aspire to be, but I think Jared was the shining light here.He’s tough, he’s honest, he’s an arsehole, but he is devoted to Banner and I loved that.
This is a great addition to the Hoops series and I can’t wait to read the next one.

The tenth girl review and release blitz, Carrie Aarons

This was a sweet book. It’s by no means an original storyline, we know how it goes, guy makes a bet, girl becomes object of said bet, they fall in love, she finds out etc etc.I have to say that Cain was a character I liked a lot. He was horrible at the start but then you get to know him and he’s surprising.I liked Harper, but for all her bravado I thought she gave into Cain way too quickly. I would’ve liked to have seen more interplay between them, really build up that enemies to lovers feelings.
Overall this was a solid book. It hasn’t reinvented the wheel but that wasn’t the aim. If you like this sort of books you’ll like this one.
