Lost in between release blitz, K.L Kreig
I voluntarily received an advanced review copy of this book and chose to review it.
I wanted to love this book. I loved Black Aswan Affair and so I was hoping I would love Lost In Between too, but I didn't. I just couldn't connect with the characters and I find the fake fiancé thing so tired, everyone is doing it right now. Sure, this has a twist, or two or three, but I just couldn't get into this book. Sorry!

Oh, he wasn’t just any guy. He was perfection.
He was all man, his police uniform hugging all the right places of his delicious body. Across his chest, “James” was written in script. He grinned at me, his dazzlingly crooked smile spreading into his dimples. His dark features gave him a mysterious look. I was riveted, and clearly I’d been staring for longer than acceptable because he cleared his throat. I ducked my head and blushed, trying to find something to do to take the attention off my faux pas.
“Oh, here.” I shoved the clipboard at him and he signed his name and flashed me his ID, which read Colton James.
“Are you new?” he asked.
“Yeah. I’m Brad. Just started today.”
Olivia smiled at us both.
“He’s so good, Uncle Colt. He used to be a surfer!” She animatedly talked about my surfing days and I smiled because Olivia wasn’t his kid. He was her uncle. Not that I minded kids, but in the back of my mind, knowing Olivia wasn’t his child, I figured I might stand a chance.
“Surfer, huh?” He gripped his belt and shifted it back to the center. My eyes automatically focused on his dick, because he adjusted his belt, which was near his dick, so… yeah. I couldn’t get a good visual with all the crap that was hanging from his belt. Dammit.
I glanced back up and Colton was grinning at me, catching me yet again mesmerized by his body.
“Well, I have to get Olivia home before my sister has my head.” I nodded, afraid my words would betray me if I opened my mouth.
“Uncle Colt.” Olivia tugged on his hand. For five, she was a good swimmer. Long arms and legs, a perfect swimmer’s body. She was fearless in the water and reminded me a lot of Taylor. “Brad likes boys too.” She clearly meant it to be a whisper, moving closer to Colton, but I heard it.
I nearly choked. Colton shook his head and shrugged.
“Kids, huh?” was all he said. My initial reaction was to be embarrassed for him, but he didn’t seem fazed in the least. He seemed like a man who didn’t let much bother him, his stern face and uniform just adding to my theory.
“Yeah. Kids,” I agreed, shoving the clipboard underneath my arm.
“See you around, Brad.” He tilted his chin at me—his magnificent, chiseled, clean-shaven chin—as he walked away, hand in hand with his niece.

My writing processe
A lot of people ask "how do you write a book?" I know it's a hard concept to grasp if you're not that way inclined. 50,000, 60,000, 70,000 words is a lot for some people yet I churn them out. But how do I do it? The short answer is I sit down and write. Not what you were wanting to hear right? But it's how I do it. Sometimes I feel like a fraud because I don't really think about what I'm writing, it just comes. Structuring the story just comes to me. I don't really spend a whole lot of time thinking about what I want to write or how I'm going to write it, I just sit down and write it.
Writing has always been like this for me. I remember in my first year of high school we had to write a newspaper report based on something that happened in the book we were reading. We hadn't been taugh about newspaper reports or how to structure them but somehow I knew how to do it anyway. I still remember my teacher asking me to read mine out and telling everyone that was exactly how you did it. That's probably why I got my degree in journalism, because it came naturally to me. And the novels I write come the same way.
Yes, I have plot points I want to hit but I never know how I'm going to get from A to B, I just know I'm going to get there somehow.
A lot of writers talk about hearing their characters talk to them. I'm one of them. I legitimately hear my characters words in my head. I'd worry about it but again, it seems to happen to a lot of writers so either there's a massive mental health issue going on amongst us or it's not that strange! Not that this happens all the time mind you. In fact, I'd like it to happen a lot more often than it does but I'm nothing but a slave to my muse, lol.
But the in between times? I think sometimes I get so far into my characters world that things just pour out of me, they follow from one part of my brain I don't consciously tap into and flow straight to my hand and I don't know what's coming until it ends up on the page.
I was never formally taught how to write. I was never taught about protagonists and antagonists. I was never taught about all that fancy storytelling jargon that I can't remember the names of now. I think I learn best by seeing examples and following that. It's probably why I read a lot, to learn how to structure things, or to see how I can spice my own stories up. I can't tell you about all those 'proper' story writing terms, but I can tell you what's wrong with a story. Maybe that's the essence of being self taught, and until now I didn't realise that was what I am, and sometimes I feel like I'm massively behind, especially when I get manuscripts back from my editor, but I also know that what I write, no one else can. They can't tell it like I can. I read a lot and I know my voice is quite different from other people. That's good, I want it to be. But again, it's not something I consciously developed, it was just what came out.
So much of my writing, basically all of it, is what comes naturally to me. I love it, it makes me feel special. It also makes me feel like a fraud. But then I sit down to write and find my imaginary friends are off playing somewhere else and I know I'm like every other writer out there at times. Still, nothing feels as good as it does when the words are flowing, when you have so many ideas you're racing to put them down on the page. I'm a writer, it's just what comes naturally.

Her Touch release blitz, Alexa Riley
I voluntarily received an advanced review copy of this book and chose to review it.
I loved this story. I liked how there was a longer lead in but I wished there was a bit more detail between the end and the epilogue. Her Touch is a typical Alexa Riley offering, with a greater focus on story this time. Eli is great, and Maggie is sweet but I would've liked to have seen a bit more heat, I think it was missing a bit of it this time. I did like the bonus read with Alice too.

BLURB:They say everyone’s a superhero to someone. I’m not sure who I’m supposed to save, but I know who saved me.
We were kids. His name was Christopher. And up until the day he pulled me from death’s grip, he was nothing more than a boy I felt sorry for. In ablink of an eye, he became the only person who made me feel safe.
And then he disappeared.
Now I’m seventeen. I’m not a kid anymore. I haven’t been for years. While death didn’t take me that day, the things that happened left me withscars—the kind that robbed me of everything I once loved and drove me into darkness. But more than anything else, that day—and every day since—has taken away my desire to dream.
I wasn’t going to have hope. I wouldn’t let myself wish. Those things—they weren’t for girls like me. That’s what I believed…until the new boy.
He’s nothing like the old boy. He’s taller and older. His hair is longer, and his body is lean—strong and ready for anything. I don’t feel sorry forhim. And sometimes, I hate him. He challenges me. From the moment I first saw him standing there on the baseball field, he pushed me—his eyesconstantly questioning, doubting…daring. Still, something about him—itfeels…familiar.
He says his name is Wes. But I can’t help but feel like he’s someone else.Someone from my past. Someone who’s come back to save me.
This time, though, he’s too late. Josselyn Winters, the girl he once knew,is gone. I am the threat; I am my worst enemy. And he can’t save me from myself.

She’s in love with her father’s best friend…
Kate Crawford’s always had a scorching attraction to her father’s best friend, sexy hotelier Graham Davenport. Now she’s going to study in Europe, but she wants to realize her secret wish and lose her virginity to Graham. After all, she’s not a teenager anymore and ready for some Adult X-rated fun.
Graham Davenport hires Kate as his trainee in his luxury hotel as a favor to her father, but seeing her flaunt her hot body is driving him insane and he’s about to lose his self-control. He doesn’t want to betray the man who helped him turn around his life, but this woman is no longer a teenager with a crush. And her desire unleashes secret passions and fantasies that neither of them can deny…
1. Tell us a bit about yourself.
Hi! I’m Carmen. I’m a mom, wife, daughter and a friend. I’m also an avid romance reader. I’m addicted to dogs—I have three crazy pugs. I love going to the movies, power walking, traveling, meeting friends for lunch. I skydive once a year. Okay, that was a lie. I said that so my life would sound more exciting. LOL.
2. What inspired you to write your first book?
I was a teenager and that book will never see the light of day, LOL. But I think what made me want to write then is the same reason that makes me want to write now—simply because I can’t imagine myself not doing it.
3. Describe your main character in five words.
Kate Crawford is determined, smart, flirty, fun, relatable.
4. Have you ever done anything strange or weird in the name of research?
All the time. I write romantic suspense as well, so sometimes I have to watch out for what I have on my DVR list if we have sitters over!
5. How long does it take you to write a book?
It depends. Every book is different, and I’m never really just writing a book. I’m also promoting other books, emailing editors, revising another project. Oh, and Facebook. I love Facebook. But I’d say the first draft of a category length book takes between four and six weeks.
6. Can you share a little of your current work with us?
Of course. I’m editing Forbidden Inmate, a book about a male prison counselor who gets involved with an inmate in a women’s prison. Think an erotic Orange is the New Black. It’s actually available for pre-order on Amazon.
7. Do you have anything specific that you want to say to your readers?
It sounds cheesy, but thanks for supporting me in my journey. I really appreciate the feedback, the reviews, and the friendship. It feels great to know I’m not alone.
Random Questions:
What’s in your fridge right now?
A bunch of fruit, organic meat and yummy ice cream.
What song do you sing at the top of your voice every time you hear it?
I love music but I generally listen to whatever’s on the radio. I like pop, jazz, some rock, oldies. I’ve been known to sing to a lot of Taylor Swift songs especially while driving (don’t judge).
Where did you last go on holiday?
I visited my family in Brazil. That’s where I go every summer.
If feral aliens attacked your house and they were zapping your home with their Über super bombs, what five items would you save?
My laptop, my passport, my camera, family albums and a keepsake box with my children’s stuff. (I’m assuming my hubby, kids and dogs would be waiting for me outside).
