Wellsboro BookFest 2019 - Announcement

I will be at the Wellsboro BookFest this year!
I am excited to announce that I will be at the 2019 Wellsboro BookFest! On October 19, 2019 from 9am to 3pm, you can catch me in Wellsboro, PA taking part in the event held by From My Shelf Books & Gifts at the Deane Center at 104 Main Street. This will be the first book-centric event I've had the chance to go to, and I am absolutely stoked! Check out the event's Facebook page here and From My Shelf's Facebook page here!

I will be writing a blog post about the experience afterward, so if you can't make the event, be sure to look for my recap the following week or so!

As usual, thanks for reading and don't forget to drop a comment below! :)

A Quick Announcement - New Website!

I know this is stating the obvious, but my new website is officially up and running! I am so excited! It looks so good, if I do say so myself! I will hopefully be keeping up with the site better now that it is more accessible for me to edit and post on.

Also, my email (basil@basilebacorn.com) is back up and running as well!

With that quick announcement out of the way, feel free to check out the site! The blog is pretty weak still, but all of the other pages are (or should be) fully updated and ready to go! If you have a suggestion for anything I should add, please let me know! It would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks for reading! Comment what you think of the new site below! :)

The Blog is Back! Or at least, I'll try...

Hello everyone! Basil here, and yes, it has been awhile. About two years to be exact. I have graduated from high school, spent a semester of college in Maine, and opened my first retail storefront. Let's just say I've been a bit busy.

I have decided it is time to try again, to keep this blog somewhat active! With Basil E. Bacorn Books, Art, and More's new activity, I wanted to try and keep you all clued in to everything else that is going on!

So this is our almost two-year, unplanned

College Time

An update on what's to come now that I'm officially moving to Atherton, California for college (yikes!). A new blog name, a new "Shop Local" index, a new online store, and of course, a new book! Read the first Babbling Basil Leaf post to find out more!

Like a Lady: A Short Story

I originally wrote this as a submission to a literary magazine, but I decided to just post it on here for you all instead. It may or may not be a tad, um, Edgar Allan Poe-y, so consider yourself warned.

The Ponderings: How does a peanut get salted?

I was eating a bowl of my mom's salted peanuts, and my dad caught me off-guard. He said to me, "Here's a question for ya: How do they salt the inside of the peanut?" Since I didn't know the answer, I began to ponder the possibilities.
