Commemorate Canada – Youth Writing Contest

Calling all teenagers–crack those pens, paper, tablets or laptops and fictionalize your flag in flash fiction or poetry! In celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Canadian flag, the SWG is pleased to announce our Commemorate Canada Youth Writing Contest. Youth (aged 13-19) are invited to submit an original piece of prose or poetry based on the theme of our national flag. The restrictions for this theme are that each piece of prose or poetry submitted must contain all three of the words Flag, Canada, and Maple Leaf.

Jurors will select the top five in both the prose and poetry categories. The winners in both categories will receive prizes, and will also be invited to read their works at the Regina Farmers’ Market on June 27 for Multiculturalism Day.

For full contest details visit: skwriter.com
