Even More Interlinear Books in French

Best way to learn French while reading classic literature

Find here on Amazon!

Yet another French book I'm announcing that has been around for a few months now, the world famous classic Le Grand Meaulnes, now in interlinear format.

That means we added an English translation to every French word, and idiom where necessary.

Read and re-read the pages to memorize the chapter vocabulary and the French language structure. No need to look up words in a dictionary so stay immersed in the book. A fast and easy way to learn French, and fun as well.

If you're an absolute beginner though, I recommend you start with Learn French with Fairy Tales or Learn French with Beginner Stories or the recently published Learn French with Stories and Legends. Just look up the paperback versions on Amazon.

More Interlinear Books in French!

Best way to learn french fast and easy with interlinear books

First of all, another French beginner book. It's called Stories and Legends and written by socialist Louise Michel, as you can probably read from the stories.

Again all the stories have a word for word translation so you can stay immersed in the books.

They're all about individual hard work, so maybe also capitalists should take it to heart. The only difference with capitalism in these stories is the support for those with disabilities or those caught in the poverty trap.

Anyway, before starting a political discussion right here on HypLern, without much further ado, find Learn French with Stories and Legends on Amazon!

And I can add, there is more on the way!

Bilingualism is a Benefit

Lots of research has been done into the effects of bilingualism. The general view is that it has many benefits, it depends however on the way you are a bilingualist.

The Economist writes that bilingualism contributes to delaying dementia, having an edge in executive control by helping to perform complex tasks by focusing attention, and updating working memory.  So far novel research is unclear about how and when you would have these benefits. It all seems to depend on how the languages you speak are related and how you are using them. Switching regularly is a big factor in supporting executive control.

Nevertheless, aside from the subtle benefits that are scientifically researched, being bilingual gives you the opportunity to expand your cultural horizon. Reading in different languages gives you more perspectives and create a deeper understanding of other people.

One fun way to boost your learning of a second (or third, or fourth) language is interlinear learning. It is especially gratifying if you have a basic knowledge of another language. Interlinear reading boosts your vocabulary while you have fun reading.

Learn French through reading combined with flash cards

Do You Want To Read French?

Here's your chance. Read French Fairy Tales or Short Stories by Maupassant, Balzac or Zola with every word having a word for word interlinear translation.

Even with a small vocabulary it's easy to read the French text because of the fast and immersive translation.

Check out the example below and see how easy it is to read the interlinear. Too easy you say? Cover the words with a piece of paper and only take a peek if you don't know the word:

Learn Vocabulary With Spaced Repetition

The reading and re-reading teaches you the high and medium frequency words in the text because you encounter and look them up again and again.

This means you're studying efficiently. For low frequency more difficult words, just mark them in your eBook or paperback and re-read only those paragraphs. Or practice in our software on hyplern.com.

Going through your list of flash cards every day is extremely fast that way, and way more immersive and fun than having physical or digital cards of single words or single sentences.

No look up time, no time needed to create flash cards and extremely fast flash card checking, it all means you're learning to read French very, very fast...

Learn French with A Romantic Novel

This interlinear French to English novel that we published in paperback format is a work by Balzac. Its concept is surprisingly modern for its time, as a young woman decides to use a lover for her own plans. I won't give out any spoilers, read it for yourself. Learn French fast and easy.

Reading French in interlinear format saves you time and allows you to grow your vocabulary quickly and pretty easily, because English meanings are right below the French words. This is the best way to learn French.

Learn French with Fairy Tales

Learn French with Fairy Tales ("Contes de Fées - Tales of Fairies") is an interlinear French to English word for word translation that contains a number of French fairytales. This paperback is the best starter for French as it starts off with short and simple stories and expands its vocabulary and the number of pages per story towards the end. It also repeats a lot of the base vocabulary so we'd even advise reading this book before the "Learn French - Beginner Stories" paperback.

Success with reading French, only possible with interlinear French to English word for word translations, from day one!

Learn French with Famous Short Stories

Learn French with Short Stories

This book contains short stories by Guy de Maupassant and Honoré de Balzac. You can get free mp3s for it on this site as well. This is definitely the best way to learn French, just by reading.

Walter Schnaffs is a fun story about the 1870 Franco-Prussian war in which a jolly fat German soldier whose only thought is about his blonde German wife and four kids, and about good food, has to join in the invasion of France.

Losing his comrades after an ambush, he finds his own way around the French countryside, led mainly by hunger.

Un drame au bord de la Mer is a story where a young writer on holiday with his lover relates a family drama he encounters in Bretagne.

Find the paperback and Kindle versions of the book here on Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/Learn-French-Short-Stories-Interlinear/dp/1988830273
