TBT: Clan, Honor, and Empire

Flencik stopped picking at his clothing to lean back and look Rajhir in the eye.  “I wouldn’t have thought anything more of it, except – see, I’m interested in the research side of medicine myself, along with the surgical aspects.  So when I get the chance, I pop in the lab, ask questions, help the research scientists out, run some diagnostics, and play with the machines.  I stay late a lot of nights doing that.”
One corner of Rajhir’s mouth lifted in a teasing grin.  “Some guys go out for drinks, you know.”
Flencik pulled a face.  “You’re cute when you’re condescending.”
Apparently he’d not meant to say that out loud, because his face went plum in his embarrassment.  As the Imdiko spluttered a little, Rajhir fought not to laugh and make him feel worse.
The handsome doctor was attracted to him and thought Rajhir was cute.  The Dramok might just have to take this gentle giant out after all.  Even take him home.  The thought of putting that big body under his made his dicks twitch.

WIP Wednesday - Worlds Away

Selena "Boom-Boom" Baumer makes an impression on Arga.

He wasn’t certain whether to be more amused or shocked as she belted out ribald lyrics she called limericks in tune with the band that played on the stage. When she wasn’t wailing in her thin, warbling alto, Boom-Boom told off-color jokes that left Anneliese screaming with laughter and Nex gaping in disbelief before he too roared. Although Arga guffawed with the same stunned hilarity as Nex, the outrageousness of Boom-Boom’s antics concerned him.
He leaned toward Anneliese as Boom-Boom shimmied in overt appreciation of the tune being played, much to the delight of nearby onlookers. “She is—ah—livelier than I expected.”
“Yeah, well, Boom-Boom is her own animal. Though some guys in her company told me she started off quiet and reserved. Hard to believe, huh?”
Indeed, it was hard to believe she’d ever been sedate. Arga hadn’t met anyone so loud before, whether Earthling or Risnarish. Not even Anneliese, as tough as any man and not afraid to indulge in impressive quantities of brew, came close to being as extroverted as Boom-Boom.

TBT: Alien Embrace

Rajhir watched Amelia rush away through the willowy crowd of Plasian elite. His eyes drank in her lush body, a pleasing collection of soft, pliant curves. Her auburn curtain of hair swayed, offering tantalizing glimpses of smooth skin bared by the backless gown. The tops of her buttocks were round, the shadow between them a teasing invitation. He longed to explore her there, in all the sweet dark places a woman’s body offered. To discover her with fingers, mouth, and sex organs. To uncover all her body’s treasures, to decode its secrets.
The Dramok had enjoyed his fair share of women. More than his fair share, in fact. So few females of his own kind were left, but first as the son of a councilman and now a councilman himself, he had never lacked for female companionship. His now-ignored distant blood ties to the royal family back on Kalquor had also ensured enough attention to keep him occupied when only the softness of a woman would do.
The few Kalquorian women still in existence were strong, proud beauties. Every bit as commanding as their male counterparts in most cases, they inspired awe and reverence. Rajhir had entertained many women of different species, but none had ever come close to one of his own.
It had taken every bit of his longtime friend Ambassador Ospar’s charm to get Rajhir to come to Plasius to meet Amelia Ryan. He and his clan had made the six-week journey on the thin chance that the Earther female would offer hope to his race when none was left. If she was breeding compatible, Ospar had told Rajhir his clan could keep her as their mate.
“Even if you don’t want her for yourself, you must bring her back to Kalquor. I don’t have to remind you of the duty you have to the Empire, my friend,” Dramok Ospar had said.
“So we’re reduced to kidnapping,” Rajhir said. He made sure Ospar heard the disgust in his tone.
“Distasteful as outright abduction may be, we’re out of time. Your own clanmate Flencik has told the emperors and the council’s medical funding committee that there is no hope of restoring our females’ fertility. If the Earther woman is compatible, Kalquor must have her and others like her. I’m already sending out other clans to collect the ones we can get as soon as Flencik confirms compatibility.”
Honor and Empire. It had been the dominant phrase in Rajhir’s upbringing. He knew his duty better than most, but he also knew when to let it pass. He had thought clanning Amelia Ryan would be one of those duties he would not take up, even if she was compatible to carry his children. Why should he when he could have one of his own species? He was content to enjoy the Earther and to teach her to enjoy men of his race in kind. Then he could take her back to Kalquor and let another clan not so blessed with opportunity have her.
Now Rajhir wasn’t so sure.

WIP Wednesday: Righteous Fury

Keeping the wrong company leads to trouble:
Kimi basked in the warmth and feelings of security until they veered off the main concourse into a far less populated corridor. Only then did she suddenly wonder why she felt so good.              This wasn’t her. No matter how much she enjoyed the contentment that had been missing from her life since losing her parents, it couldn’t be real. Yet it lulled her, a siren song that insisted everything was wonderful.              They veered again, this time toward a closed door which opened automatically at their approach.               “Through here, girl.” Baaniil spoke for the first time, his voice arctic cold.              It appeared to be another, albeit far smaller shuttle bay. Yes, some seats in the middle, the small arched doorways that Kimi had supposed were meant for private vessels to dock at—it looked almost identical to the much larger one she’d come from.               She fought to overcome the happy, floating feelings that left her drifting under the control of the two Paatiin. With effort, she managed a weak protest. “This is no medical facility. Am I drugged? Did you drug me? Where are you taking me?”              Neither answered. They tightened their grips on her arms and propelled her forward, heading toward one of the doors. Beyond it, the glittery surface of a ship like Laaruu’s parted open.              Kimi thought of bracing her feet. Of fighting the Paatiin who were undoubtedly abducting her. Yet her body wouldn’t cooperate. It kept right on walking, heading for parts unknown.              The only thing she seemed to retain any control over was her mouth. She ignored the muggy, dreamlike thought that drifted through her head: why bother?              Instead, she summoned what strength she had and poured it into her voice. “Hey. Hey! Laaruu! Help! Kidnapping!”              “Shut up, stupid booniiv.” Her good pal Waaleen wasn’t so pleasant any longer. He yanked her arm hard.               Nevertheless, Kimi swore she heard Laaruu’s voice calling her name from far away.               How sweet. He’s worried about me.              Damn it, get your head together! Fight!              Kimi had no chance to act, had she been able to. A few steps from the hatch, Waaleen turned to her, his hand flashing out.               The survivor part that had been shrieking in the back of her skull all along tried to make her cringe from the blow heading her way. But all Kimi could do was stand there and watch.
Releasing in March (date subject to change)

Friday Fiver Challenge: Who Am I?

Five character clues. Can you guess the character from the Kalquor universe?

1. My Matara affectionately refers to me as "gorilla".

2. People think my Global Security partner and I are a funny mix because of our difference in size.

3. Not a fancy guy. If I pick it up off the floor and it doesn’t smell bad and it fits, I wear it.

4. I can tow your shuttle without a truck. Just give me a rope.

5. To my profound embarrassment, I once dated the traitor Matara Feyom.

TBT - Ravenous Virtue

Before Raven figured out the auditor was an alien, it was just a night out with the co-workers.

Douglas sat down next to Raven at the small table.  His rough denim-clad thigh rubbed against her mostly bare leg by accident and stayed there.  Feeling deliciously naughty, Raven decided not to move away.
They ordered their drinks, both women going for Jack and Diet Coke.  After the waitress moved away, Raven asked, “What brings you here, Douglas?  Somehow I never would have picked a place like this for a guy like you.”
“No?  And what kind of guy would you picture me as?”
His easy grin held that undercurrent of danger Raven had seen before.  A curl of excitement went through her abdomen.  Her pussy actually spasmed a little at that knowing smirk.  She made herself quash the rush of arousal.
Kimi answered with a giggle.  “You’re an auditor, one step up from a stodgy accountant.  You should be having tea with dear old Mom in her doily-covered sitting room.”
That made Douglas laugh out loud.  “Dear old Mom is probably out snapping the whip over her underlings.  She’s not one to have tea with.”
Kimi’s eyebrows shot up.  “Oh, a woman of means?  Are you a spoiled rich boy?”
“Not at all.  Nor would I want to be.  I like the challenge of taking what I want.”
As the waitress showed up with their drinks, Douglas’ amazing golden gaze bore into Raven’s eyes, as if he would telepathically tell her what it was he wanted to take.  That hazy curl of excitement she’d felt transformed into a blatant erotic thrill.
She thought of the wilder things she’d done with Todd the other night and how much she’d enjoyed them.  She thought of how it might feel to do those things with Douglas.  To have her backside swatted by his long-fingered hands.  To have her wrists tied up in her stockings and a tie gagging her mouth while he fucked her hard.
What in the hell has gotten into me?

Available from Amazon, Amazon UK, Barnes & Noble, and Smashwords.  Also in print.

WIP Wednesday - Warriors of Risnar: Worlds Away

Let's clarify the situation.
Selena eyed the craft floating down from the darkened sky towards them, descending with silence. “That’s a flying saucer.”
“Yes ma’am.” Thompson was more interested in the stars overhead.
“Technically, it’s a collection pod. The Monsuda used it to collect lab subjects among your people. Anneliese was one of those.”
Arga’s words drifted past Selena, mattering little as she watched the circular object send down the central portion of its flat bottom to nestle in the sawgrass. She watched the spacecraft, but strangely enough, her attention riveted on the warmth his body radiated. Warm, self-armoring flesh, capable of fending off the bites of toothy reptiles. He stood next to her, his woodsy scent clean and fresh compared to the briny vegetation aroma exuded by the marsh.
Realizing she was far too aware of the alien man, of not only his scent but all those delectable swells of muscle within grabbing range, Selena focused on the things that should have been uppermost on her mind. “I’m not crazy? Not hallucinating?”
“Afraid not. This is as real as it gets,” Thompson assured her.
“And you expect me to get in that, go with you to Rushmore—”
“Risnar.” Arga’s tenor rumbled pleasantly in her ear.
“Risnar,” Thompson echoed.
“Risnar. And help you stop a hostile alien invasion of Earth.”
“Affirmative.”
“By exploding shit.”
“Bingo.”
“Uh-huh. You know, I have the chance to go to Vegas. I’ve been invited to explode shit there.”
