There it is again . . .

. . . that swelling warmth inside of me.
I don’t like the idea of him being alone.
He’s been alone too long.

My First Aesthetic For DREAMER!
There it is in all its glory: my first aesthetic for DREAMER! It’s just a little glimpse of some of the adventures and moments that Jessa gets to experience and of course, you get to tag along! TRAVELER got us started, but DREAMER is when you need to fasten your seatbelt and prepare for one wild ride through the multiverse. Everyone ups their game in this one, and Jessa has to learn to depend on her most valuable resource: herself (or ‘selves’).
I know it’s maddening having to wait for this one to hit the shelves, but I promise, you’re going to be blown away when it does. I am fiercely proud of how DREAMER came out. You’re going to love it!

I feel like I’ve known you forever . . .
“Like we’re two old shoes sitting side by side in the same closet.”
“I’m an old shoe?” He makes an exaggerated face. “Well, that’s not very romantic, is it?”
“It’s romantic,” I defend myself. “Aging is wildly romantic. Not everyone gets the luxury of growing old together.”

I Had A Blast At B-Fest!
That’s me, signing for the beautiful and utterly awesome Jessica at Barnes & Noble’s B-Fest teen book festival this weekend in Exton, Pennsylvania! And before that, I got my butt whooped at YA trivia at B-Fest in Plymouth Meeting, PA. I swear to God, Stephanie was a ringer sent in from corporate or something. She was like the Yoda of YA. She knew every title, every cover, every plotline–she was nothing short of amazing.
And along with Jessica and Stephanie, I got to meet so many new faces, some who already had the book and some who stopped to say “Whoa, look at that cover!” then heard my pitch, and walked away with a copy.
All in all, despite the long day, it was a world of fun. Anytime I can get to know readers (or potential readers), it’s a good time.
Thanks again to Barnes & Noble for hosting me, and I’ll see you all next year at B-Fest 2018!

Happy ‘Talk Like A Pirate Day’! I Love Me Some Pirate Finn!
He was born with the sea in his veins and the smell of salt in his hair. . .
That’s a line from my YA fantasy novel, TRAVELER, and yes indeedy….it’s got a pirate! Despite their often smelly and bloodthirsty reputations, movies and books seem to be chock full of handsome pirates, quick with a witty retort or a clever bit of swordplay. And why not?
The call of the sea, the break of the waves, the clean, fresh air and the moonlight on the water….
*sigh*
It’s just made for romance. So when my protagonist, Jessa, started stepping through mirrors into fascinating new worlds and meeting all sorts of versions of the people she knows and loves, I knew one of those adventures was going to have to take her into the arms of Pirate Finn, the alter-ego of the rather stoic but sensitive Finn she’s come to know in her own world. And ohhhhhh, is that a great first meeting…
Come on, who doesn’t love a handsome pirate with a devastating amount of charm and a devilish sense of humor?
