Comment on Discoverability by Grant at Tame Your Book!
Well said, Benda! Like you, I’ve learned my lessons. I now use a specialized app to assess titles, keywords, and categories. Using the insights produced by the app, I can minimize the need to re-title a book. Better still, I can embed the keywords into the sales blurb, increasing the discoverability. The app completes the research in minutes, which would take days manually. Also, I love how the app lists the keywords in descending importance and eliminates duplicate (ghosted) categories.

Perfect timing, Brenda. My wife and I are starting a new website titled WritingForEternity dot com. We haven’t launched it (yet), but have spent months preparing. Your post helps. Thank you!

Comment on There Are Words, And There Are Keywords by Grant at Tame Your Book!
Hi Brenda. I saw your post below my October 18 article on book blurb and keywords. I discovered the same challenges and made it my goal to fix the issues with a book re-launch of my self-published book. That included a new cover, title, blurb, keywords, and categories. The feedback I’m getting so far shows the effort was worth it. Because of Amazon’s recent changes, choosing the most appropriate keywords and categories would have been hit or miss without the app. Thanks for making a difference by sharing your writing journey!

Comment on Those Critical First Three Chapters by vicgrefer
great point, the first three chapters or so will be the sample and that can’t be overlooked, but the whole piece needs to be quality, all the way through

Comment on Every Instinct is Telling Me To Do This by vicgrefer
you seem to be asking all the right questions, especially, is the character arc ended? Is it needed? Basically, is it something that will feel like a cheap shot that insults the reader, or is something that authentically flows with and from the story as it has been developing

Comment on When Being Distracted Is A Good Thing by Stuart Danker
I actually use writing to get the house chores done, lol. Because when I’m faced with the blank page, suddenly sweeping the floor seems like the better alternative. I like how you explored this topic. Thanks for sharing!
