Dan Cooper: Based on the Real Story of the Relentless Pursuit of the Northwest Orient Flight 305 Hijacker D.B. Cooper by Jude Morrow
In the chilling haze of a Pacific Northwest evening, on November 24, 1971, a mysterious man calling himself ‘Dan Cooper’ boards Northwest Orient Flight 305. Armed with a briefcase bomb and dark shades to mask his intent, he swiftly extorts $200,000 along with four parachutes and disappears mid-flight, leaping into the unknown from a Boeing 727’s aft staircase.
Using real case evidence and eye-witness testimonies, Jude Morrow has crafted an authentic and creative duel narrative of why ‘Dan Cooper’, or ‘D.B. Cooper’ as he became popularly known, committed the crime that he did, and the relentless efforts of the FBI to track him down.
Beneath the hijacker’s enigmatic facade lies a past intertwined with rural Canada, service in the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, and daring aid-drops in war-torn Vietnam.
As the world grapples with his audacious crime, relentless FBI agent Clifford Harding finds himself consumed by the chase for ‘D.B Cooper’. Young, sharp, yet teetering on the edge of obsession, Harding’s pursuit blurs the line between justice and vendetta. With shadows from ‘Dan’s’ past looming and Harding’s intentions growing murkier, one is left to wonder: Who is the real villain in the hijacking? Will Harding unravel the mystery, or become its next casualty?

Biography

Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS)
Slipped and bulging discs
Unrelenting chronic nerve pain and increasing weakness in her limbs
Enough was enough.
Katie started making changes in her life over the next couple of years, but hadn’t yet resolved the unrelenting nerve pain down her legs. While preparing for back surgery in 2020, Katie was introduced to Cognomovement, a way to access the subconscious mind through the physical body. Cognomovement helped Katie put an end to her decades of chronic pain.
Katie immediately immersed herself in Cognomovement, both to earn her practionership, as well as exploring classes on a personal level to see what else within her life could be improved. She never had back surgery, and Cognomovement has transformed her life, as well as the lives of others. Katie is now a Level 2 Cognomovement practitioner.

The Chris Voss Show Podcast – MCU: The Reign of Marvel Studios by Joanna Robinson, Dave Gonzales, Gavin Edwards
MCU: The Reign of Marvel Studios by Joanna Robinson, Dave Gonzales, Gavin Edwards
INSTANT NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER
“A superb chronicle of how Marvel Studios conquered Hollywood…. This definitive account of the Hollywood juggernaut thrills.” ―Publishers Weekly, starred review
The unauthorized, behind-the-scenes story of the stunning rise―and suddenly uncertain reign―of the most transformative cultural phenomenon of our time: the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Marvel Entertainment was a moribund toymaker not even twenty years ago. Today, Marvel Studios is the dominant player both in Hollywood and in global pop culture. How did an upstart studio conquer the world? In MCU, beloved culture writers Joanna Robinson, Dave Gonzales, and Gavin Edwards draw on more than a hundred interviews with actors, producers, directors, and writers to present the definitive chronicle of Marvel Studios and its sole, ongoing production, the Marvel Cinematic Universe. For all its outward success, the studio was forged by near-constant conflict, from the contentious hiring of Robert Downey Jr. for its 2008 debut, Iron Man, all the way up to the disappointment of Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania and shocking departures of multiple Marvel executives in 2023. Throughout, the authors demonstrate that the original genius of Marvel was its resurrection and modification of Hollywood’s old studio system. But will it survive its own spectacular achievements? Dishy and authoritative, MCU is the first book to tell the Marvel Studios story in full―and an essential, effervescent account of American mass culture.

About The Guest(s):
Joanna Robinson and Dave Gonzalez are authors and podcasters who have worked together for over a decade. Joanna has hosted podcasts about film and television for years and wrote for Vanity Fair for eight years. She is currently at The Ringer, where she continues to podcast about film and television. Dave has been writing about film for the internet for 15 years and has a passion for the business of storytelling in the entertainment industry.
Summary:
Joanna Robinson and Dave Gonzalez join Chris Voss on The Chris Voss Show to discuss their new book, “MCU: The Reign of Marvel Studios.” The book provides a comprehensive overview of Marvel Studios, from its inception in 2008 with the release of “Iron Man” to its current status as a cultural and financial powerhouse in Hollywood. The authors delve into the business deals, creative decisions, and behind-the-scenes stories that have shaped Marvel Studios into the success it is today. They also explore the impact of Marvel Studios on the film industry and its ability to captivate audiences with its superhero movies.
Key Takeaways:
Marvel Studios started as a scrappy underdog, leveraging lesser-known characters like Iron Man and the Hulk to build its brand.
The success of Marvel Studios can be attributed to its ability to push boundaries and take risks, such as casting Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man.
The creative committee at Marvel East Coast, led by Ike Perlmutter, initially had regressive ideas about representation in superhero movies, but Marvel West Coast eventually broke free from their influence.
“Guardians of the Galaxy” was a turning point for Marvel Studios, proving that audiences were willing to embrace unconventional characters and stories.
The future of Marvel Studios lies in its ability to continue pushing boundaries and telling fresh, engaging stories that resonate with audiences.
Quotes:
“We got as close as we could to current events as we could, including things that happened over the summer of this year into the book to try to explain how a superhero movie studio could take over Hollywood for well over a decade.” – Joanna Robinson
“Marvel Studios will finish up movies weeks before they release because that’s what worked for them on the first Iron Man.” – Dave Gonzalez
“Marvel at its best offers so much beyond because they started with characters that weren’t burdened with that much expectation.” – Joanna Robinson

The Chris Voss Show Podcast – Unmanaged: Master the Magic of Creating Empowered and Happy Organizations by Jack Skeels
Unmanaged: Master the Magic of Creating Empowered and Happy Organizations by Jack Skeels
Former executive, two-time Inc 500 award-winning entrepreneur, and think-tank management scientist Jack Skeels, in his new book, Unmanaged: Master the Magic of Creating Empowered and Happy Organizations, lays out the blueprint for how to make agencies – and many other types of organizations run better, faster and happier.
Drawing on more than a decade of applied research with over 200 agencies and other high-performance organizations, Skeels presents a compelling case that managing less can be the key to managing better. In its six-part structure, the book takes leaders and managers through the origins of why we manage the way we do today, and how a new style of managing—within which one can see the echoes of Agile methods—boosts everything from project success rates to organizational productivity, profitability and happiness.
In its 300 pages, Unmanaged both provides not only the rationale, but also a large number of battle-tested methods for implementing better managing, proven both within his consultancy and in prior work. The book is laced with real-world vignettes that often make managers and leaders laugh (or cringe) in recognition of their own managerial faux pas. There are over ten practical new models of managing that the reader and their organization can make, ranging from better ways to kick-off and scope projects, boost team skills growth, align better with stakeholders and clients, and ensure worker and team productivity. Leaders will be drawn to several topics that explain the power of Unmanaged’s techniques to reduce the cost of meetings, enhance DEI initiatives, and implement better organization models and metrics.
While Unmanaged has its origins in digital and marketing agencies, Skeels, who spent much of his career in technology and management consulting, makes a compelling argument that the project-driven workthat they perform (complex, unique, innovative or complex projects) represents the future of human work as AI and other forms of automation displace simpler factory and service style workers. The future of knowledge work is project work.
The book is written from a manager-centric perspective, informing many managerial roles found in agencies and elsewhere, including a significant focus on the discipline of project management, its many challenges and failures. At its heart, the book preaches a gospel that hints of Buddhism, urging that managers and leaders can do better by being more aware and less reactive.

The No BS Kettlebell and Bodyweight Kickstart Program by Aleks Salkin
Cut Through the Endless Sea of Training BS
Get Strong, Resilient, and Fit
With 1 Kettlebell and Your Own Fair Flesh
When it comes to getting real-world strong, carving out a lean, athletic physique, and building a body that turns heads and drops jaws, nothing beats the 1-2 punch of kettlebells and your own bodyweight.
Yet most budding kettlebell and bodyweight enthusiasts struggle, strain, and ultimately FAIL to make any real progress toward their goals – instead racking up aches, stiffness, and discomfort in place of new personal records, finding themselves in an endless cycle of being stuck at Square 1.
To make matters worse, probably not 1 in 1,000 personal trainers (even many of the so-called “experts”) knows how to combine these tools into an effective, efficient program for busy people with big ambitions and little time.
That’s why I wrote The No-BS Kettlebell & Bodyweight Kickstart Program.
I took the best tips, tactics, techniques, and strategies that I’ve learned from over 10 years of teaching real people like you – NOT natural athletes – how to positively dominate the essential kettlebell and bodyweight moves in less time than they thought possible.
If you’ve got a kettlebell, a suspension trainer, and a little bit of floor space, all you need now is this book and a little bit of grit and you can be well on your way to new and exciting levels of brute strength, raw power, and personal confidence.
