Some stories are not mine to tell

I am a story weaver. A wordsmith. I write erotica, horror, supernatural, historical fiction, science fiction (occasionally), fantasy, and romance. Mostly under pen names, of course, but I do so because I have a genuine and passionate love for writing. Sometimes I even blend two or more of these genres just for fun, and I can do that because they are my stories, and I can pretty much do whatever I want with them.

Some stories are just not mine to tell, however.

Like what happened last night. I know I posted that I was in the hospital with Natalie, and many of you have written me expressing concern. I appreciate that, and so does Natalie. However, the reason why is… delicate, and I promised her I would not make the reasons behind the hospital visit public. This is my Diary, not hers, and I promised I would be candid and open with my life. Not hers. Or anyone else’s.

That being said, she knows how to log in to my Diary, so if she wishes to discuss anything under her own name, she can.

And with that, I am done talking it.

Now as far as author issues are concerned, I primped the Patreon a bit (adding a goal and reward for reaching said goal), finalized my preorders, and spent the majority of the day doing the red revision (which I’m about halfway through) for The Qedesha’s Handmaiden, the end of the Qedesha Trilogy. It is turning out to be a doozy. You’ll see.

Anyway, for your convenience, here are my preorder releases for the upcoming months:

Preorders

March: The Champion’s Gift (A Qedesha Story)

April: Cramming Sis! Again!

May: Voyeur: Season 1, Episode 4

Several of you have asked why I’m doing preorders like this. The answer is simple: advertising. Amazon advertises preorders up to their releases in protuberant positions (to encourage authors to make use of the preorder system), and when the book is finally released, they (albeit in a different way) do the same thing. Since erotica authors can’t advertise traditionally within the Amazon ecosystem, this is the next best thing. Basically, after doing some research, I figured out how to optimize their book listing algorithm.

The more you know.

I’m going to go visit Natalie, so I’ll close this entry here. I’m going to work like hell tomorrow to finish the red revision of The Qedesha’s Handmaiden because I’m seriously considering giving a free copy of it away to any of you who purchase its predecessor, The Champion’s Gift.

I’m thinking about it.

Goodnight.

I love you all.

Thank you for reading.

At the hospital

I’ve been at the hospital with Natalie for several hours now, and to be honest I have zero desire to do an entry. Shit is just too real right now. Everything (including Patreon) will just have to wait until tomorrow.

Keep her in your thoughts.

Please.

Finally, home!

I am finally home! After five days of dog-sitting for my bestie, I am finally back in my inner sanctum! It’s funny, but I never realize just how imprinted I am with this place until I have to be away from it for a length of time. So many things are just the way I like them, and no matter how comfortable I try to make myself in someone else’s house I just can’t.

Even sleeping. I am dead-exhausted right now because my sleep schedule was so sporadic at her place; an hour here, a few there, all day long. It’s amazing I got anything done…

Which reminds me! The Bad Girls of Erotica’s Valentine’s anthology, which I am a part of, of course, is about to be released any day now! The story I submitted for it was Girl Fight (cause, you know, romantic as fuck 😀 ), so if you haven’t read it yet, this will be the perfect time to do so!

Anyway, I am one tired lez-bean right now, so I think I’m going to close this entry and try and rest as much as possible before I attack author-related tasks tomorrow.

Wish me luck…

Rude ghosts, a flurry of accomplishments, and a man forgetting how to walk

So, my besties house is haunted. Legit haunted. Like, shit “falling” off shelves, frequently creaking floors that sound exactly like someone walking around, and eerie sensations traveling down your spine at the most random times for seemingly no reason.

Now, this in and of itself does not bug me. I mean, I’m not ghost-racist or anything. It does piss me off, however: why can’t these motherfuckers use their energy more productively? Bring me a beer, or knock off an ATM and give me the money? You know, trivial things like that. I mean, why waste the energy to knock figurines off shelves when you can bring a beer to someone? It’s going to be one of the first things I teach my brothers spawn, trust me.

So fucking annoying…

Anyway.

So, I’m still a prisoner here dog-sitting for my bestie until tomorrow, which means I haven’t had any real distractions short of online ones. Which means my productivity has gone through the roof. Cases in point: Voyeur: Season 1, Episode 4 is available for May 1st preorder, the first part of the audiobook version of The Champion’s Gift: A Qedesha Story has been recorded and approved (and it sounds fucking amazing!), I sent the manuscripts to the narrators I hired for the audiobook versions of Girl Fight, Cramming Sis! Again!, and another book under a pen name that I can’t disclose here. Maybe on my Patreon. OK, definitely on my Patreon. I just scheduled it. 😜 Of course, you’ll have to be at least on the Patron tier to be able to see…

Speaking of Patreon: when I launch Patreon exclusive content, I’m going to start linking to it directly in a social media post to make it easier to find. I noticed that, since I post every day on that motherfucker, the paid-only posts seem to get buried, so I figured this would be an efficient way to combat that. A supporter can always just bookmark the link to look at later, but the thing is they’ll know its there. I’m starting to get this Patreon shit down!

Anyway, the first news story I saw today will also be the last thing I talk about: a man was gaming for 20 hours and tried to get up but discovered he couldn’t. True story.

That’s all for now.

As always, my loves: thank you for reading. 🙂

Sleeping in, irresponsibility, and being hard to handle

I love my Sundays. For some reason, my brain just refuses to be responsible whenever Sunday rolls around, no matter what I may have planned. If I even think about accomplishing something important, I develop a nervous twitch, and my energy just drains out of me. It comes back instantly when I start doing something inane, like playing video games or stumbling around on the internet.

It’s such a beautiful thing.

I love it.

So today, dear Diary, I slept in. And watched The Four on Hulu, played World of Final Fantasy, and flexed my mayoral muscles on Animal Crossing New Leaf. Want to know what I didn’t do? Watch the motherfucking Super Bowl. Cause Cowboys. Screw the rest.

In a complete (brief) moment of seriousness, I want to take time out to thank you. All of you. For reading this, yes, but for more than that: for taking precious time out of your life just to come to my little corner of the world and see what’s been going on in mine. You could be doing anything right now, but you’re here.

That means so much, and it says a lot about you, too. What does it say? I’ll get to that in a second.

See, a lot of people can’t handle a girl like me. I continuously curse, I’m a fiercely independent thinker, and I refuse to conform to anyone’s idea of what an author should be or how an author should act. I couldn’t care less. I’m confident, fiery, and approachable, and I keep my eyes and ears open to everything because I see everything as a learning experience. Not to mention I’m nowhere near a Christian – or any other religion. (I’ll get more in-depth on this topic in my Patreon.) I’m just me, and I don’t need a label or organization to define, dictate, or proclaim my morals or beliefs. I can do that all by myself. And my actions show what they are; words are unnecessary.

So, what does that say about you for being here and reading this? It says that these aspects appeal to you, which means you’re not a follower either. It tells me you like to not only think for yourself and to try and keep an open mind, but that you’re not afraid to be yourself and want to hang out with people who are not cookie-cutter carbon copies of the mass majority.

It says you’re a natural leader, not a follower.

Which is a good thing. There are so very few of us. If anyone ever looks down on you for being different, for not being like everyone else, smile and remember two significant things:

History never records nor is changed by people who want to be just like everyone else.
People fear what they don’t understand and hate what they can’t conquer.
So, congratulations. And take a bow…

Grounded from Skynet AGAIN, kidnapped, and voyeurs

So, I’m grounded from Skynet (my drone) again. And once again, completely unjustly. See, here’s what happened: I was flying it around the house (something I’m getting pretty good at doing if I do say so myself), and kind of got lost playing with the GPS return feature. It’s a button you can push where, no matter where it’s at, it automagically returns to you and lands.

Well, I wanted to see just how good it was.

So I made it hover in the living room and went down the hallway and to my room and sat on my bed. According to the manual, it will automagically avoid obstacles when it’s returning, so I didn’t think twice about it.

Well, it turns out the manual is a motherfucking liar.

Next thing I know I hear all kinds of crashing in the other room, so I rushed to see what it smacked. My brother did too, unfortunately, and…well…Skynet kind of a little but not really smacked him square in the face. Completely not my fault!

So now I’m grounded from it for a week.

Injustice, thy name is JC…

Anyway.

I ended up getting kidnapped by the bestie shortly after and am currently dog-sitting for the next four days, so the only real author thing I managed to do was submit Voyeur Season 1 Episode 4 for preorder for May 1. I’m just waiting for it to be accepted. Once it is, I’ll post the pre-order link here. If you haven’t read any of my Voyeur series, you are seriously missing out. At only .99 an episode (Patreon subscribers at the Voyeur tier get each episode free – and in advance) what do you have to lose? Give it a try. Each episode is short, but there’s a lot of freak crammed in there. It won’t disappoint you.

Time to go take a shower and figure out what to do with the rest of my night. Probably play World of Final Fantasy. Dunno.

Or maybe harass the internet.

We’ll see.

Don’t say I didn’t warn you… 😛

Up all night, lesbians, and chocobos!

I stayed up last night with the intent of getting everything processed. See, the first of the month is always hellish for me because dozens of author tasks spring up on my organizer as needing to be done today. I always run myself (and Natalie, poor girl) into the ground, but we still manage to pull it off.

This month was no exception. 🙂

My highlights? I switched up all my social media accounts to advertise the availability of Amore, my first erotic lesbian love story, and worked with my graphics team for the cover of the upcoming Bad Girls of Erotica Valentine’s anthology.

Fun stuff.

Want to know something else fun? Breaking sales records! I never talk about sales because that’s business and that’s not really why I’m a writer, but damn. I broke records in everything! eBooks, audiobooks, and even paperbacks! Stunned. Humbled. And very thankful.

You guys are amazing. For reals. I feel tears coming on.

Dammit.

Anyway, I’m about to take a much-earned break. I just started playing Final Fantasy XV on Anne’s PS4, and I have to admit it’s pretty addicting. Meanwhile, she’s developing her own addiction to Final Fantasy VIII (the first Final Fantasy I ever beat!) on my PlayStation.

Yes, we’re nerds, and we know it.

But we’re hot nerds. 😛

Guess who’s back, deep thoughts, and a favor

Guess who’s back, motherfuckers? This bitch! I am 100% healthy and have been blasting things all day like a motherfucking boss. I wrote well over 2,000 words on The Qedesha’s Handmaiden, knocked off all my tasks, and managed to get in some serious game time in on Final Fantasy XV. Of course, because of all my sleeping and napping when I was sick, my sleep schedule is completely thrown off, but it’s all good. I’ll fix it by staying up tonight and all day tomorrow, then going to bed at 10PM Thursday. It’s what I usually do to bitch-slap my circadian rhythm back into shape.

Natalie thinks I’m insane. I think I’m driven. Maybe you have to be one to be the other.

Deep thoughts…

I posted this request on social media, but I’ll post it here too: if you’ve ever read a book of mine, please take a few seconds out of your day to give it a rating. Those ratings not only influence sales, but they mean a lot to me as an author. I would really appreciate it. You can find all my books published on Amazon listed here: https://www.amazon.com/-/e/B017HLS6PK....

Anyway, since I’m working on making these entries more concise starting today, I’ll end this here.

Be expecting strange social media posts from me tonight.

Until then...
