When I finally started writing, the one thing that really helped the story take shape was the setting. The idea is that most writer's block is a result of getting lost in the story. Journaling about your story can bring you back to the reason you were writing it in the first place, often leading to a renewed sense of purpose. I usually find this works for me.(less)
