That voice inside, you know the one, the insistent chatter that keeps you company on a forest walk or asks you to dig deep while watching a full moon rise? That voice in me sometimes comes out on a screen (or on paper), accompanied with pictures and whatever else I can pull together – music, crayons and sparkles – whatever works, to make the magic touch you and become real.

That voice is magical and we all have it inside of us. It is powerful and can change your life for the better or worse, depending on what you want it to say. My choice is to say good things. I believe that we engage spectacular power through the way we think and feel. I also believe we can change our lives through the power of a wish.

I could hear his steps come closer, closer and I held my breath as he suddenly ripped the door open and screamed, "You're it!" and broke into shocked, four-year-old scoffing laughter as my grandson watched my pee dribble in horrified droplets down my leg.(less)

There, I would advocate sustainable gardening in our own home back and/or front yards (it really could be a cool new trend!), keeping chickens and a big fresh water catchment area and having solar-fed roofs and roads. I would make it cool to play games outside and make it mandatory to have family time around the dinner table. I would do everything I could to encourage our young people to achieve their best by creating the possible from the impossible - by reallocating municipal and federal funds to the betterment of our society. Reaching out to our leaders of tomorrow has always been my passion. Being a force in a world of the future to bring back the traditional values of a family backing their babies and communicating wisdom for their future, living in a world where we tend to our own needs on our own property and work together in a community of love and acceptance would be my wish.
I am working on a storyline for my sequel to "Gifts of the Crysnix" where these values are incorporated.

A Season of Stars and Hope

Have you ever noticed how many stars there are in the season’s traditions? Venus calls out in the night sky as we pretend it is the Star that lead the wise men. Christmas carols sing out the magic of a holy night with stars brightly shining, treetop decorations twinkle everywhere and Hanukkah’s star of David shines its indigo beauty.
