Sunday Snippet: A short poem
Hello everyone, hope you are all doing well?
Today’s snippet is a short poem at the end of a book called “And I Thought Divorce Was Bad“. The book was written by Wilnona Marie, Shel-bee and Jade Dee. The poem itself was written by Shel-bee and is called “I Learn”
The snippet:
“I LEARN”
I am what I am
I did what I did
I felt what I feel
I cried my own tears
I wish for no regrets…ah!
Mistakes needed to be made
Fragments of the past & present
Here I am…nothing more, nothing less
I am not invisible,
I stand strong with age
I was, I am, I will become the dreamer…the doer of my new found reality of being somebody to me!

Amazon Prime Benefits
There numerous benefits to having Amazon Prime, see below for some.
When I shop for nappies for my little assistant using subscribe and save, Amazon has hands down the best value for money.
That said, as an author and a book lover/reader, it is an essential service. As an author, when I enroll my book to Amazon’s Kindle Unlimited program, all those who have Prime membership and own a kindle tablet can read my book without paying anything extra. Another plus is that Amazon pays me a small amount for each page someone on Prime reads.
If you are not already on Prime, I recommend you sign up for the 30 day free trial. You have nothing to lose
Sunday Snippet – She: A Horror Novel
Hello folks, thanks for checking out my blog today. Today’s Sunday Snippet is from David Kummer and his book She: A Horror Novel.
Here’s a little intro from him (we connected on Goodreads)
Hi. My name is David Kummer. I’m an author that’s only in high school and so I’m still learning and growing (I’m not Caillou, so sorry if that sounded like it. If I was Caillou, I’d tell you for sure.) and figuring out how to become a better author.
I live in Madison, Indiana, which is a small town on the Ohio River. There’s lots of history and creepy places, which probably have influenced my writings. In my book SHE, most of the places and buildings are based off similar settings here in my home town, although I’ve changed them so that you wouldn’t know really if I didn’t tell you.
I would love to get to know you better, so email me at davidkummer7@gmail.com.
The Snippet
With a quick tear, he ripped the curtains back as they all looked out, and there it was.
Nothing. There was nothing unusual outside.
No lady standing there, no shocking revelation; there was a road, running off out of their vision to the right and left. There was a street lamp, casting its shadowy glow onto the bushes and lawns below. There were houses lining the side of the road, spaced apart but still close together. There was nothing.
“Brandon…” Crystal began to say, but he was stumbling backwards.
He fell backwards and landed on the bed.
“Brandon, it’s okay man,” Michael said, looking at his best friend anxiously. “Maybe she just didn’t come tonight.”
“I swear… every night… she …”
He looked up at them with wild eyes. His sanity came crumbling down, and every pretentious wall he built up was torn to pieces like shredded paper blown in the wind. Left with nothing and no sense of what was going on or what was real, he sat down with a thud on the bed and leant back, staring at the ceiling.
“Guys,” said Christian warily from over by the window.
“What do you want?” Michael said, sounding harsh. He did not turn around.
“I see…”
“What do you see, Christian?” his sister asked with attitude, not at all interested.
“I see her. And she sees me.”
In a moment, they were all staring down at the streetlamp.
There was a lady.
Her face was grave and serious, with wrinkles marking it like the ridges in wood. Her long, white hair seemed to have once been black, but nearly all traces of that color were gone. She stood, hunched in a way, but still menacing. One gnarled, shaky finger pointed up at them from the street, and her eyes seemed to glow.
“What… what is that?” Crystal asked, leaning on Michael for support.
Brandon was undaunted and steady, as if he had been expecting this all along.
“She.”

Sunday Snippet – The Spectra Unearthed
Hello everyone, thanks for visiting my blog
Today’s Sunday Snippet is from Christie Valentine Powell’s novel The Spectra Unearthed. Christie Valentine Powell wrote her first story in second grade and has been writing ever since. Her other hobbies include making toys, hobby farming, and eating at Asian buffets. She lives near the sunniest city in the world with her husband, four children, and five sheep.
The Snippet:
Keita tried to run on ground that swayed like water. She had gone only a few feet when theinsane mass of sliding rock overtook them. Dust filled her nose and eyes as she stumbled on. Then something slammed into her stomach. Her fingers tightened around rough bark and she heaved upward, while rocks behind hammered her back and shoulders. Gasping, she clambered onto the branch.
The tree she’d landed in was holding its own against the onslaught. The first wave of rocks had past, but pebbles and dirt still poured down the slope. A smear of reddish hair appeared above the surface, and was gone.
Keita took a deep breath. She couldn’t go back in there without more bulk, more power. She reached for her energy, like a white core inside her, and concentrated. Coarse black fur sprouted along her arms and through the folds of her skirt. She hooked new claws into the dipping branch as she finished her change.
The bear leapt. Claws sank through streaming dirt, and she stumbled. Gravel ripped her skin, and dust clogged her nose and eyes. A human cry, a smell of fear gave her direction. She lunged downstream, tripping and stumbling but ever moving forward. A scrawny arm broke the surface, and she caught warm flesh in her mouth. The head emerged, the girl screaming. The bear positioned herself behind the girl, taking the brunt of the impact.
The current of earth thinned, streaming around her legs and belly. A fist-sized rock crashed into a foreleg, and she stumbled. The girl shrieked once more. Past the rolling, sliding earth, straggly trees stood unmoving, out of the avalanche. The bear stumbled toward them, shuffling at an angle, slipping but still moving.
Claws found solid ground. The bear heaved one more time, and she and the girl collapsed onto motionless earth. Pain pierced her mouth. She roared, and the arm in her mouth dropped. The girl scurried back. She met the bear’s eyes, a clear challenge. Small, dusty, and in rags, she did not look dangerous, but the bear knew better.
In a flash of light, Keita returned to her true form. She weaved for a moment—her body felt unearthly light—and then spat. Large gray objects, spattered with blood, fell into her palm. Bear teeth, she realized, turned to stone.
