Yes, the manuscript for the third Lady Frances book is already with my publisher. "Death at the Emerald" takes place in Edwardian London's lively theatre world and the very beginnings of the British film industry. It will be out later this year. It will eventually appear on Goodreads, and I'll also be making announcements on my Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/ladyfrancesf...

Thank you again.(less)

New Series About to Launch!

I'm pleased to announce a new mystery series featuring Wren Fontaine, an architect who specializes in restoring historic homes.

In her first outing, The Greenleaf Murders, she is restoring one of the finest Gilded Age mansions in Manhattan. But she quickly finds that at Greenleaf House, "skeleton in the closet" is not just a metaphor. A century ago, people killed for control of the mansion. And th Read more of this blog post »

Raymond Chandler
“down these mean streets a man must go who is not himself mean, who is neither tarnished nor afraid. He is the hero; he is everything. He must be a complete man and a common man and yet an unusual man. He must be, to use a rather weathered phrase, a man of honor—by instinct, by inevitability, without thought of it, and certainly without saying it. He must be the best man in his world and a good enough man for any world.

“He will take no man’s money dishonestly and no man’s insolence without a due and dispassionate revenge. He is a lonely man and his pride is that you will treat him as a proud man or be very sorry you ever saw him.

“The story is this man’s adventure in search of a hidden truth, and it would be no adventure if it did not happen to a man fit for adventure. If there were enough like him, the world would be a very safe place to live in, without becoming too dull to be worth living in.”
Raymond Chandler

Charles Dickens
“Mankind was my business. The common welfare was my business; charity, mercy, forbearance, benevolence, were all my business. The dealings of my trade were but a drop of water in the comprehensive ocean of my business!”
Charles Dickens, A Christmas Carol
