Envy is a Dead End – Proverbs 23:17-18
 
The passage for today is Proverbs 23:17-18. It says, “Don’t let your heart envy sinners. Instead, always fear the Lord, for then you will have a future and your hope will not be dashed.”
This verse tells us that we should not envy others, but instead fear the Lord. When we envy others, we are focused on what they have and what we don’t have. This can lead to discontentment and unhappiness. However, when we fear the Lord, we are focused on Him and His promises.

Avoiding Eternal Poverty – Proverbs 22:16
 
The passage for today is Proverbs 22:16. It says, “Whoever oppresses the poor to increase his own wealth or gives to the rich will only come to poverty.”
This verse warns us that if we take advantage of the poor or give to the rich, we will only end up in poverty ourselves. This is because God is just and He will not allow us to profit from the suffering of others.
Instead, we should be generous to the poor and help them in any way we can.

Compassion for the Poor – Proverbs 21:13
 
The passage for today is Proverbs 21:13. It says, “He who shuts his ear to the cry of the poor will also cry himself and not be answered.”
This verse warns us that if we are not compassionate to the poor, we will not be shown compassion ourselves. We need to have compassion for the people around us, especially those who are struggling financially or in other ways.
As Christians, we are called to be compassionate and to help those in need.

Avoiding Strife – Proverbs 20:3
 
The passage for today is Proverbs 20:3. It says, “Honor belongs to the person who ends a dispute, but any fool can get himself into a quarrel.”
This proverb is reminding us that it is better to avoid conflict than to engage in it. It is easy to get into a quarrel, but it takes wisdom and maturity to end one.
As Christians, we are called to be peacemakers. We should strive to avoid conflict and to resolve disputes peacefully.

The Word Became Flesh – John 1:14
 
The passage for today is John 1:14. It says, “And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we saw His glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.”
This verse tells us that Jesus is the glory of God in human flesh. He is the only Son of God, and He came to earth to save us from our sins.
We can enjoy Jesus by spending time with Him in prayer, reading the Bible, and worshiping Him.

Find the Truth in Correction – Proverbs 19:20
 
The passage for today is Proverbs 19:20. It says, “Listen to counsel and accept discipline that you may be wise the rest of your days.”
This proverb reminds us that we should be open to criticisms and correction from others. This is the only way we can learn and grow. When we are defensive, we are not able to take in new information and we are more likely to make mistakes.
We should also remember that criticism and correction are not always easy to hear.

Patient Listening – Proverbs 18:13
 
The passage for today is Proverbs 18:13. It says, “If one gives an answer before he hears, it is his folly and shame.”
This proverb teaches us that it is important to listen before we speak. When we speak before we have heard the whole question or situation, we are likely to say something foolish or embarrassing.
We can avoid this by being patient and waiting to hear everything before we respond.

Tested By God – Proverbs 17:3
 
The passage for today is Proverbs 17:3. It says, “The refining pot is for silver and the furnace for gold, but the Lord tests hearts.”
This verse tells us that God tests our hearts to show us what we are made of. He does this by allowing us to go through difficult situations. When we face these challenges, we have the opportunity to respond in a way that reflects our true character.
God tests our hearts to help us grow and become more like Him.

Wisdom and Understanding – Proverbs 16:16
 
In today’s passage, Proverbs 16:16, we are told that it is better to get wisdom than gold, and to get understanding is to be chosen rather than silver. Wisdom is the skillful application of understanding or knowledge, while understanding is the ability to comprehend something. Both are important, but wisdom is what allows us to put our understanding into practice.
As Christ followers, we have been given the Holy Spirit and access to a greater understanding of the world.

The Delight of God – Proverbs 15:8
 
The passage for today is Proverbs 15:8. It says, “The sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination to the Lord, but the prayer of the upright is his delight.”
This verse tells us that God is pleased with the prayers of the righteous. This means that when we pray to God with a sincere heart, He is happy to hear from us.
Prayer is a powerful way to connect with God and to experience His love and peace.
