Everyday Faith – Acts 5:42

The passage for today is Acts 5:42. It says, “And every day in the temple and from house to house, they kept right on teaching and preaching Jesus as the Christ.”

This verse tells us that the apostles were committed to sharing their faith with others. They did this by teaching and preaching about Jesus, both in the temple and from house to house.

We can follow the example of the apostles by being intentional about sharing our faith with others.

The Cost of Obedience – Acts 5:40

In Acts 5:40, the apostles Peter and John were flogged and ordered not to speak in the name of Jesus after being released from jail. Despite this unfair treatment, they rejoiced and continued to preach the gospel.

As followers of Christ, we may also face unfair treatment and challenging circumstances. It’s important to be prepared for these situations and to trust God to make things right. We should not whine or complain, but instead, we should ask God to use our circumstances for His glory.

Fear of God Matters Most – Proverbs 31:30

Reliably Dependent – Proverbs 30:8-9

It’s important to have ambition, but our ambition should be centered on Christ, not on stuff, rewards, or accolades. We should aim to follow Jesus and do His will, rather than pursuing our own selfish desires.

Wisdom of Managing Our Temper – Proverbs 29:11

Running Scared – Proverbs 28:1

This verse tells us that the wicked are afraid even when there is no danger, while the righteous are confident and secure. This is because the wicked know that they are deserving of punishment, while the righteous know that they are forgiven by God.

We can be righteous by trusting in Jesus Christ for salvation.

Humility and Wisdom – Proverbs 26:12

Honor Others First – Proverbs 25:6-7

The passage for today is Proverbs 25:6-7. It says, “Do not put yourself forward in the king’s presence or stand in the place of the great. For it is better to be told, ‘Come up here,’ than to be put lower in the presence of a noble.”

This passage is warning us not to be arrogant or presumptuous. We should not think more highly of ourselves than we ought to. Instead, we should be humble and let others put us in the place that they think is best for us.

Rise Again – Proverbs 24:16

The passage for today is Proverbs 24:16. It says, “For a righteous person falls seven times and rises again, but the wicked stumble in time of disaster.”

This verse tells us that it is okay to fail. Everyone fails at some point in their lives. The important thing is to get back up and try again.

We can learn from our failures and become stronger as a result. When we stumble, we should not give up.
