Your pictures are always beautiful and your face is flawless! What's your skincare routine?

Honestly I’ve been to hell and back with my skincare routine. I had redness/acne pretty rough in high school/freshman year of college, so it’s been a wild ride but I think the last few years I’ve really found my happy place with it.

Going to a dermatologist really helped me. They gave me two topicals that I’ve been using for years and still work wonders for me, and they’re both fortified with intensely anti-aging properties, I’ve listed those below.

As for the rest, I switch it up morning and night. A quick disclaimer that these products work for me and my skin, but everyone is different and has different skin types/concerns. My skin type is oily/combination, with the main concern being redness or occasional acne - if you have dry or sensitive skin you’ll probably hate a lot of these products!

Morning:

Mario Badescu enzyme cleansing gel (the green one)Mario Badescu special cucumber lotion (it’s actually a toner, not a lotion, despite the name)Prevage targeted skin tone corrector
A pea-sized dab of Acanya gel (prescribed by my dermatologist)
Bobbi Brown hydrating face cream
Bobbi Brown hydrating eye cream

Night:

Anti-aging exfoliating cleanser my dermatologist makes specially, but La Roche Posay has a similar one that I love and they initially recommended to me) used with the Mia2 Clarisonic
Mario Badescu special cleansing lotionPrevage anti-aging serumPrevage anti-aging eye serumAtralin (prescribed by my dermatologist. This stuff is my best-kept skin secret, it’s AMAZING.)
La Mer “Creme De La Mer” moisturizing cream (this is really pricey, but the Bobbi Brown one from above is a fine swap, I switch off) OR sometimes I swap this for Botega Organica orange anti-blemish oil
Finish off with Bite Beauty’s agave lip mask and Revitalash (my other best-kept beauty secret, been using it since high school!)

I usually do a mask or two per week too. If you’re interested in knowing more about that just let me know.

If it sounds like a lot of steps, it’s because it is. You’ll thank yourself later. Also it’s important to note that I don’t do this ALL at one time - let the products sink in a bit before you layer another on top. I usually do this slowly over a 10-15min period while I’m doing other things (getting dressed, brushing teeth, feeding the pup, etc). Also, I know these aren’t the cheapest products, but I want to be honest about what I use. After suffering years of bad skin, I’m willing to splurge on skincare and make it a priority. I’ll check in when I’m 60 and let you know if it was worth it.
