You and You Alone – #RomanticTuesday #Love #Poetry

It is a Space of Time which Holds no Fainting,

That Lives and Breathes in Me, Just Waiting,

Yearning that Delves into the Heart of me,

Like a Blade, Debating Indecisively,

The Right or Wrong of Holding On,

Of Needing You, Of this Zeal so Strong,

Kissing the Sky with Tears of Longing,

While all the while, I dream of Belonging,

To You and You Alone!

O Brightest Light that E’er was Shone

Two Souls Aflame within just One,

To this poor Heart, most Timid, most Frail,

Listen not as my Memory Wails,

Yet Stand beside me in the final Hour,

A Blushing, Blossoming Delicate flower

Whose Colours Sing of Youth and Favour,

Of all the Dreams I Long to Savour

With You and You Alone!

These tears that steer me to new misery,

Breaking from Despair To Grasp and Seek Your Mystery,

While this Loving Fire Burns Deep Within

And my Imagination Tempts the Raucous Din

Of Passion, Desire, and Fair Lunacy

To Love You Utterly and So Completely,

As others Pass to the left and right,

They make poor Art for my Focused Sight,

Longing for You and You Alone!

Dulce – #RomanticTuesday for #TheDailyPost

.

Seduce me with

Your Honeyed Eloquence,

Painted Phrases,

Mesmeric Verses,

Whispering in

Breathless, Blushing Tones

Until my Heart Trembles,

My Strength Fails,

And Yearning Devours.

Memory and Bliss – #RomanticTuesday #Love #Poetry

Speak to my Heart, O Love;

Sing from my Soul, to Yours, True One;

Enrapture me with the Blissful Touch of Your Love

And I shall Ever Know True Happiness,

True Contentment;

In Knowing You

And

In Being Known by You,

Dearest, Sweetest Love of my Heart,

Soul of my Soul,

Breath of my Breath,

Memory and Bliss,

Beguilingly Melded

In Every Moment we Share,

In Every Moment we have yet to Share,

In Every Moment Until

We are United Once Again

In this Truest Love.

Fair Season – #Inspirational #Poetry

.

Shall I Sing in Sweetest Clamor

Harkening Thee to The Glory of Day?

Shall I Listen to the Lark’s Pure Chatter,

Spinning Gold From Flaxen hay?

Shall I Weave this Tapestry

Of Eloquence and Finest Speech,

Ignoring the Twinkling Light Afar,

The Simple Implication it Begs to Teach?

Tear down the injustice of captive fear!

Break Free from the harbingers of gloom!

Plant Sweet Roses in Aspiring Daylight,

Where Petals Fragrant shall Blushing Bloom

And Stand in Awe at Love’s Fair Season,

Bluster and Barrows insignificant falling,

While the Nighttide Sings in Harmony

And All of Heaven’s Truth is Calling.

Breathing Mania – #Meditative #Poetry

.

Did you ever say you were going to sit quietly and try, quite earnestly, to center your thoughts, focus your concentration, calm your ramblings, musings, and wandering notions? ( Believe it or not, I do this quite often) (No, really, though I understand your disbelief at such a preposterous suggestion) Whenever I try however, it always seems I end up thinking about 101 different things rather than enjoying a soothing, gentle, unhurried moment (or twenty). I end up spending half my time telling myself to be quiet and the other half of the time wondering about what is going to happen in an hour, during the afternoon, what I’m going to make for supper, if I bought enough cat food for the week, try to determine when I’m going to fit in time to finish the next installment of Dark Fey, attempt to remember if I turned off the light in the dining room before I left the house, remind myself that a car payment is due, and try not to think about my rumbling tummy that is empty because I rushed out the door in the morning before eating something and was too distracted to remember to grab a protein bar or a yogurt for lunch.

Meditation is not my strong suit, to be sure. After all, for someone who lives, breathes, eats, sleeps, thinks, dreams, and paints words like the ocean heaves and sighs, perpetually, upon the shore, trying to quiet all the words rushing around in my mind is never, ever ever an easy or simple proposition. (as this post, I hope, more clearly illustrate) It can be frustrating, however, when the manic mania that tends to be our daily lives, starts to eat away at my sanity; chipping away at the peace I like to carry around with me like a warm, soft blanket to soothe my nerves and steady my attention when work tries to eat me alive or the morning commute has far too many drivers in it who are more interested in their phone than the road.

We do lead frenetic lives, most of the time. Most of my friends have schedules that are packed and planned out for weeks in advance, bursting with one activity after another, special events, mundane appointments, children’s sports, dance, band, chorus, and school related comings and goings, work, family, maybe friends, car repairs, trips to the gym, to the spa, to the salon, book clubs, happy hours, shopping, coffee-shop stopping (sorry the rhymes just happen!), YADDA YADDA YADDA! We charge around like frenzied bumblebees, rushing hither and thither in restless haste ( to coin Dicken’s immortal phrase), cramming as much into our days (and sometimes far into our nights) (myself included since its nearing midnight and I’m sitting here typing when, in all honesty, I ought to be sleeping) as we can possible force 24 hours to hold.

Which leads me to the (long-awaited, no doubt) query: Why? What Purpose does this Mania really serve? Does it improve our Happiness, lower our stress levels? Does it add a sense of accomplishment and meaning to our lives? Does it do anything to develop the relationships we have with people about whom we care and love? Does it Bring us Peace? Hope? Joy?

Maybe.

Maybe Not.

Thus, I am trying to learn the fine art of meditation. A hushed moment (or twenty) in which I do nothing except breathe and try, with all my might, to still the mania of my thoughts so I may be quiet.

Online Book Club Official #Review

.

I just happened upon this 4 out of 4 Stars official Online Book Club review of Dark Fey The Reviled (Oh I Needed this today!)  OnlineBookClub.org is a free site for readers that has been around for over 10 years, before smartphones even!  They have a professional review team, so garnering any sort of review from them is wonderful.  Earning the coveted 4 out of 4 is enough to send my already Off-my-trolly happiness into the realms of chuffed-beyond-intelligible-expression!

“Of all the characters in this novel… my favorite is Gairynzvl. He has so many layers of emotion and strength so that I was overwhelmed…… The story was pieced together well so that the reader struggles to put it down…I rate this book a 4 out of 4 stars and recommend it to readers.”

Thank You Madison Degraffenreid, I cannot tell you how Delighted I am you enjoyed Dark Fey The Reviled and I am honoured by your review.

Inspirational Quote (Guest Blog)

Image: ArtsyBee, Pixabay

How those words ring in my ears as my heart urges me to remain true, always. Alas my feet have strayed far over the years from the path, from my dreams and from my Self. Such sorrows have we felt, me, myself and I. We and they have faced each other across chasms and felt the weight of sorrow and longing. Those emotions have passed to be replaced by warmth and joy at our reunions.

Sounds dramatic I admit but how many of us can relate to those words? They strike deep into our psyche and soul. Sometimes accompanied by regret, other times by shame at our perceived faithless natures. We touch the Soul of the Universe when reunited with our purpose and true natures. Why gaze in sorrow at the ground when we can unfurl our wings and fly?

In This Soft Hour – #Poetry of #Love

.

In this Soft Hour,

By which Light no Shadows fall

To Kiss the Silver Moonlight of my sorrow.

Alone, tis naught but my own Memory which Speaks,

Of Days long past that lie in Wait before me,

Yet by this Hollow Light,

Which Shimmers like true Spectres of the Silken darkness,

And Dances in bleak jibes before me,

This Heart and this Fair Memory Cries out in like Fair Hecuba.

Waiting, Thus,

In this Soft Hour,

By which no Light claims the weakness of my Heart,

I tarry ‘neath the Glimmer of one failing candle

And call out,

Out into the shifting tides of murky darkness swimming hence before me,

Gilded by the Glamour of far distant Lights,

Like remembrances peering down from Sweetest Heaven,

And Pierce this empty vale with acutest Hearing,

Longing for the Nearer Sound of Your Fair Voice,

Then how it Sings but now,

So Far From Me.
