Every book in the series can be read as a standalone, but To the Stars and Back is a bridge between the previous three books and the following three—basically all the female leads make an appearance in this novel. So if you're knew to the series it's a great point to start, but as I said, all standalones, so it really doesn't matter where you begin :) as long as you have fun!
What I love most about this book: The meet-cute and the fact that Lana is an engineer and super smart!
