It’s (still) a work in progress

Work on my next novel has been slow the last few months, but it’s still moving along. Slowly, but I’ve made progress. The first few chapters are finished, and I’ve outlined the rest of the book. If you haven’t checked it out yet, you can read the first chapter in my last post.

I’m finishing up my bachelor’s degree this month, so I’m planning on dedicating a lot more time to fleshing out the rest of the book. The hope is to have it done by Christmas, and hopefully published in the spring. I’m...

Ash Night – Chapter One

Because I can’t stop the ideas in my head from disappearing, I write them all down. In detail. Then I go back when I have time and flesh them out until I get them where I think I can start writing.

In addition to the Eddie Creighton series that I have already started, I have another thriller series that I have been planning out for several months. The protagonist, Ash Night, is a little darker (OK, a lot darker), and I think he might be my favorite character that I have created (so far). I th...

The Hunt for an Agent

It’s been a hectic few months, but I’m finally getting back into the swing of things and moving into the next phase of my work on THE SON, finding a literary agent. After writing, re-writing, refining and finally getting my query letter to where I want it to be, I am in the process of submitting it to agents who can (and hopefully will) launch my career as a full-time author. After all, that’s the dream!

I had to do some pretty extensive research on query letters before I got started, and the...

And now for some Publicity!

After all the tweaking and hard work, The Son is now in its publicity stage. My publisher is sending out a press release to local, regional and national media outlets, and I will receive my own promotional materials soon so I can start planning events like readings and book signings. Needless to say, I’m VERY excited to be at this stage in the process!

I will be posting dates and times for any events here and on my Facebook author page. In the meantime, you can order The Son from any Barnes &...

Initial Feedback on “The Son”

It’s been almost a month since my novel was published. I’ve been getting a lot of great feedback from friends who are reading it. The readers that are avid mystery/thriller connoisseurs have told me they can’t put it down! I can’t describe how happy tgat makes me! It’s very rewarding knowing that readers are enjoying my work.

One of my friends said that I should definitely continue writing, and asked when the next book would be done. Well, I’ve been working on developing some of the secondary...

It’s Here!

First off, I just want to say how thankful I am that so many people have inquired about my book. I’m thrilled to share it, and the amount of support has been fantastic.

Now you can finally read it! “The Son” is now available in paperback on Amazon. The Kindle version will take an extra week or so, but if you like the feel of a real book in your hands, or really enjoy the smell of a book (like me…don’t ask, I can’t explain it), then go ahead and order a paperback copy now.

Order yours HERE, an...

I look forward to sharing this story with all of you. I hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed writing it!

Final Stages

After a few months of working with the publisher on editing, interior design, and cover art, my novel is finally in the printing stage! In just a week or two, the paperback will be ready for distribution and both paperback and ebook will be available for purchase. I’m very proud of the final product, and I can’t wait for everyone to read it!

What’s New?

In the tornado that is my life, I’ve finally found a few minutes to write an update and share some new ideas that I’m working on. “The Son,” my first novel in the Eddie Creighton series, is past editing and almost done with page design. It should (hopefully) be in print by the end of June.

As I mentioned in my last post, I have started writing the next book in the series. I now have it fully outlined and have written the first chapter, so yay! progress! I have also begun taking notes and doin...
