Valentine’s Day…
Just curious of how you spent YOUR Valentine’s Day??? My amazing wife and I started our celebration at our church, Southland, where we also volunteer. We’re in a fantastic series right now centered around relationships, called XOXO. It was a great way to start our first Valentine’s Day as a married couple!! She is wonderful, and she is the reason why I didn’t go nuts after finishing my career with the Navy… hoo-rah babe!
Southland Christian Church has been an integral part of my physical life, and my spiritual life, since departing the Navy back in 2013. There are amazing people here, and even if you don’t live in the area, I would definitely suggest you check out there website, or even watch a few of their sermons online… I promise they won’t let you down! Please feel free to share your Valentine’s endeavors, and I certainly hope y’all have a blessed week! Hoo-rah, and I’ll see you between the pages :)

TToD Announcement…
Dear world… I’d like to take this moment to announce my next work in progress. Like my previous novel, it began during my naval days back in 2011… it all spurred from the nightmarish imagination of one of my dear friends and shipmates, to whom I made a promise. A promise that I could take her freaky-@$$ dream and weave it into a novel.
The idea itself was by no means a challenge… just in hearing her tell the tale of her nightmare, it would be easy enough to weave the story. The challenge, comes in inventing the other 95% of it and writing it ALL down without scaring the wits out of myself while doing so!!! It might sound ridiculous at first, but I’m here to tell you, that if you have ever served in any Navy, or have ever been stationed aboard a sea-faring vessel for any length of time, then you know about the “things” that go bump in the night. We ALL have imaginations, and out there… in the middle of the sea, surrounded by nothing but the black of night, the wake against the ship, the howling of wind against steal, the moan of your ship’s belly against the current… or even radio calls that go unanswered. A lot can be said about the loneliness, the abandon… or to the civilian, the unseen.
I look forward to announcing more in the future… like specifically the synopsis, or even a time frame. It’s been a heck of a ride so far, getting what’s been written actually out of my head. There’s been a LOT of downtime, my wife can tell you… it’s not easy weaving a tale that can take you to the edge of fear, and leave you there teetering at it throughout… but that is the plan. Now if only I can get it to work on everyone else as well as it’s working on me!!!
Well, I hope that everyone’s Holiday season was as blessed as my own!!! If you haven’t made New Year’s resolutions yet… well now is the time my friends! Hoo-rah, & I’ll see you between the pages!

Giveaways are IN the mail…
10 Copies of The Phoenix Gate have been shipped out to the corresponding winners of the recent Goodreads Giveaway… and there was much rejoicing!!! My prayer is that the 10 winners who receive their signed copies, enjoy reading this book as much as I have loved writing it over the years, and as much as Mr. Martinez… who recently posted a customer review over at Barnes & Noble. You can check it out following this link:
I have no way to measure its success, but I would say the Giveaway was a HUGE success! 553 people had entered, of which 251 people have added it as “To Read”. I don’t know what to say to that, except that I am extremely humbled. I see this is as 553 people who ARE interested, who ARE fellow readers… 553 people who are genuinely interested in reading it. I love it, & I want to give a HUGE shout-out to the Goodreads community, & everyone else who participated in the Giveaway.
I appreciate your words, your support, & everything else in between. This whole experience continues to be a blessing. I wish everyone the happiest of holidays, and the greatest of New Years. As an old friend of mine once said,
“Eat, like you’ll never get fat! Live, like you’ll never die!… and Dance, like no one’s around!”

Review from Bookpleasures.com
“… All these elements are woven into a very fast-paced and jagged saga that presents puzzle piece after puzzle piece continually surprising the reader. The Phoenix Gate is not for young readers, and those who join the quest should expect to be challenged by the swirling events as four hundred pages will go by before any resolutions become clear. And then Part Two begins. It’s cerebral sci fi full of the unexpected and you don’t need any recreational chemicals to enjoy the kaleidoscopic ride.” – Dr. Wesley Britton, bookpleasures.com

I apologize for the lack of updates! I have been in full-force supporting The Phoenix Gate & everything else that entails. Hoo-rah!… it’s fun stuff! Remember you can ALWAYS stay up-to-date from one of these other sources also:
Dont’ forget to write reviews of your own. I’m always looking forward to hearing feedback, praise, criticism… or even ideas. What do YOU think happened to your favorite character in the end?? :)
