Listened to the audiobook and liked the narrator but the plot was a bit underwhelming, especially the romance which seemed so rushed. Rebound alert!

Would listen to more of these when resting as no need to concentrate deeply.

“You’re wrong. I do want to be with you. I didn’t ask just because of the promise, I asked because all I’ve ever wanted is to be with you. I love you, Cer. Always have, always will.”
Katey Lovell, Three Men and a Maybe

“dance!” Dancing”
Katey Lovell, Three Men and a Maybe

“back-to-back drinking sessions, combatting their January the First hangovers with greasy fry-ups and disco naps so they’d be ready to go again, but they no longer had the stamina for those kinds of shenanigans. Tonight they were raising a glass to Huw clocking up another year of bohemian living, as well as ringing in the New Year. Two birds, one stone. Huw had never been one for settling down and getting”

“If you only read the books that everyone else is reading, you can only think what everyone else is thinking.”
Haruki Murakami, Norwegian Wood

“Wicked people never have time for reading. It's one of the reasons for their wickedness.”
Lemony Snicket

“Standing there, staring at the long shelves crammed with books, I felt myself relax and was suddenly at peace.”
Helene Hanff, Q's Legacy: A Delightful Account of a Lifelong Love Affair with Books

“Books can be possessive, can't they? You're walking around in a bookstore and a certain one will jump out at you, like it had moved there on its own, just to get your attention. Sometimes what's inside will change your life, but sometimes you don't even have to read it. Sometimes it's a comfort just to have a book around. Many of these books haven't even had their spines cracked. 'Why do you buy books you don't even read?' our daughter asks us. That's like asking someone who lives alone why they bought a cat. For company, of course.”
Sarah Addison Allen, The Sugar Queen

“I hope that in this year to come, you make mistakes. Because if you are making mistakes...you're Doing Something.”
Neil Gaiman
