Write—For Me

REBLOGGED! I’m deeply motivated and moved by this fellow author’s post. Especially this, “If I am genuine then I am sure to reach an audience that will appreciate what I have created as a writer and that is all I want, even if it is an audience of one.” Sometimes, it is only one and that’s fabulous, too.

A couple of days ago, I shared that exercise is one of the most important things one can do to stay healthy and if you’re a writer this is especially true! This “rule” or “tip” is one of ten that I learned from a fellow writer.

10 Rules for Writing Exercise daily! Mix with people of all ages and ethnicities. It’s good to be social AND making these new connections strengthens your ability to create and develop characters! TRAVEL! It’s fun to see people from all walks of life and while yo...

Don’t Know About You, but I Need a Little Motivation.

Writer’s Digest just completed their judging for the Popular Fiction Awards and even though I considered I wouldn’t win first place, I thought I’d at least get an honorable mention.

New Year, Old Problem: Innocent Author Rank-Stripped For Third Time

REBLOGGED! Whoa, hold the phone! What’s going on with Amazon’s KDP program? This article is scary news for what the Big Business Behemoth, Amazon is becoming. Google has a motto “Don’t Be Evil”. (Read between the lines, people.) Well, well, well, what have we here? Something is indeed rotten in the state of you-know-where.

Welcome 2018! Happy New Year, Everyone! Let’s Get This Party Started!

In about 15 minutes, I need to hurry to the gym to lift some weights. While organizing my brand new file cabinet (it’s gorgeous with its black lacquer-looking facade), I came across notes I took at a past Pinellas Writers (formerly called PINAWOR) meeting. Sheesh, I’m such a pack rat. These notes are from April 18, 2009! Lol.

At this meeting fellow author, Diane Sawyers, (I read her book the Montauk Steps and need to write a review) shared a lot of wonderful advice on the life of writers. One...

2017 Year-End Reflection AND 10 Reasons Why I Plan on 2018 Being Even Better!

Soon, the year 2018 will roll on in. Looking back to all that I’ve accomplished, in spite of the struggle and medical hardships (yup, maybe I’ll share that someday), I can finally admit that I’m amazed and proud of myself. Before I sat down to type this post, I had to think back on every single thing I did in order to own this feeling and not dismiss it. My mother and father raised me to always strive to be better. So, I blame them. Thank you, Mommy and Daddy. Thank you ever so much. Lol. For...

Earlier today I visited my local Barnes & Noble to purchase The Book. This book shall remain a mystery until a future post.

Start with Conflict to Connect with Your Story

Yup. Uh huh. I so had to REBLOG this fellow artist’s blog post because it speaks a truth that a lot of us are afraid to admit.

Man vs. Self – A Guide to Writing Internal Conflict

REBLOGGED R. Morgan Stories post! *New follower alert, Morgan!*

R. Morgan Stories

One of the classic conflicts in literature is Man vs. Self, where the characters have to face the inner demons lurking in their psyche. However, as much as an internal conflict is a pivotal tool for a strong story, it can also be the most taunting aspect, especially when the author has not necessarily gone through the inner conflict they want to represent on their character.

From a psychological point of view, I...

New York Literary Magazine: A Series of Unfortunate Events

Wow. REBLOGGED! Thanks to Foz Meadows for alerting fellow writers about the NYLM scam! I spied one of these emails, but sensed it was a scam and I’m so GLAD I didn’t pay the entry fee! Sometimes, being in a crappy mood pays off.

shattersnipe: malcontent & rainbows

It’s not every day that I’m indirectly accused of ruining someone’s business, but 2017 has been a hell of a year.

On Christmas Day, I – along with many other writers in the SFF community – received an email from something called the...
