They sent me an email asking me to write for them.
They sent me an email asking me to write for them. Since I write fiction and poetry I'm not sure why they bothered.

Yeah, it is considered a classic now.
Yeah, it is considered a classic now. Not so much a "How to" type book, but just a very inspiring read about a fairly regular guy that after many years of banging away at it finally broke through and became one of the most successful writers in history.

I remember reading in "On Writing" that King doesn't remember writing a few of his books in the early and mid-80's because of his drug and alcohol addiction. And he said he was terrified after he quite that he wouldn't be able to write again.

The setting and characters are influenced by King's personal experiences, including both his visit to The Stanley Hotel in 1974 and his struggle with alcoholism.
