Interview with Shawn & Ethan of “One Bullet” – Part 2
Welcome back! I’ve been talking with Shawn Greyson and Ethan Brant from One Bullet. The guys and I hope you enjoy the second part of the interview.
Casey: Favorite movie of all time?
Ethan: My dad loves old western movies, so Magnificent Seven is a favorite. Or Tombstone.
Shawn: Maltese Falcon.
C: Ethan, have you thought of getting a tattoo?
E: Honestly, I don’t know. Zach’s a really good artist, so I know I’d be in good hands with him, but it’s so hard to decide.
S: You should get a shooting star.
E: (grins)
C: Shawn, one of your closest friends is Davies-
S: That’s debatable.
C: When did you first meet?
S: After he was promoted. I was already a detective and never worked with him before.
C: So how long did it take before he started calling you Princess?
S: (glares)
E: (laughs) I’m guessing within the first week.
C: Ethan, you met Sebastian in college.
E: Yup. Seattle U. Sebby and I were in the same dorm, so we crossed paths a lot and ended up hanging out for meals and stuff. We just clicked.
C: Did you end up rooming together?
E: Oh, yeah. After he left, I was stuck with this total jerk. But Sebby got an apartment in the city, so I pretty much stayed with him.
C: What’s a skill or talent you’d like to have?
E: I’d love to be able to play guitar like Matty, but I just could never get the hang of it.
S: Maybe riding a horse?
E: (laughs) You are pretty bad.
S: Hey, I tried.
C: So, Shawn, you love to read. Who are some of your favorite writers?
S: Arthur Conan Doyle, George Orwell, F. Scott Fitzgerald, Oscar Wilde, Tolkien-
E: Anyone from this century?
S: (pause) J.K. Rowling?
C: (clears throat)
E: Casey’s totally my favorite.
S: Wolfe’s alright.
C: So much love. Alright, how’s this one? Is there a song you associate with each other or your relationship?
S: “Witchcraft” comes to mind.
C: Frank Sinatra. Nice.
E: “I Do (Cherish You)” by Mark Wills.
C: What is a trait you most deplore in others?
S: Laziness.
E: Disloyalty or bigotry.
S: Those too.
C: If you were a superhero-
E: Shawn would be Captain America and I’d be Hawkeye.
S: I have nothing to say to that.
C: I was going to ask about powers, but that works too.
C: Alright, guys, one more question. And this one’s important now. What’s your Hogwart’s House?
E: (laughs)
S: You’re a Gryffindor.
E: I think you would be too.
S: Nope, Ravenclaw.
E: Really?
S: I took the quiz.
E: Of course you did.
S: Bastian would be a Hufflepuff.
E: Matty’s totally a ‘Puff.
S: Agreed. And my sister’s a Slytherin. No doubt.
E: (laughs) Does that make Davies a Slytherin too?
S: You have to ask?
E: What’s that say when I’m surrounded by ‘Puffs and you’ve got the Slytherins?
S: That I win.
E: Psh. Whatever.
Well, thank you for hanging out with me, guys. It’s been a lot of fun.
Be sure to check out the follow-up interview!

Interview with Shawn & Ethan of “One Bullet” – Part 1
The blog that was supposed to host part 1 of this interview series, never posted, so I’m going to post it myself here. Enjoy!
Hi, everyone! Casey Wolfe here, and I’m excited to be talking with Ethan Brant and Shawn Greyson today, the men featured in my new novel, One Bullet.
Casey: Thanks for stopping by, guys. Are you ready for some questions?
Ethan: Fire away.
Shawn: Sure?
C: We’ll start with an easy one. What are your astrological signs?
S: Taurus.
E: Pisces.
C: What is your idea of perfect happiness?
S: Fresh brewed tea, a new book, out on the back porch… with Ethan.
E: He’s a romantic.
C: What about you, Ethan?
E: (grins) They have to read the book.
C: Well played.
C: Next question. Ethan, what is your greatest fear?
E: Before or after the accident?
C: We’ll go with before.
E: I don’t like swimming in the ocean.
S: What?
E: I, like, don’t want to go out too deep. I’m afraid of drowning.
S: You never told me that.
E: (shrugs) Had a recurring nightmare as a kid of drowning in completely black water. So, I don’t like not seeing the bottom.
C: Shawn, what is your greatest extravagance?
E: His kitchen.
S: You love my damn kitchen. It feeds you. Unlike the hovel you call a kitchen.
E: He has me there.
C: Ethan, what quality do you most like in a man?
E: Hmm, probably sense of humor? That’s a big thing for me. Someone willing to be a little adventurous.
S: Read, suicidal.
E: No one told you that you had to come skydiving.
S: I still say I was tricked.
C: Shawn, what do you consider the most overrated virtue?
S: Chastity.
E: (laughs)
C: Moving on… Ethan, what words or phrases do you most overuse?
S: He says “dude” way too much when he’s around his brother.
E: No, I don’t.
S: Yes, you do.
E: Dude.
C: I’m taking Shawn’s side.
E: Dude!
C: Alright, you can both answer this one. What do you consider your greatest achievement?
S: Thus far? Making detective.
E: Oh, so this one time when Keller, Micah, and I were rock-climbing-
S: I don’t know that I want to be present for any story that set-up involves.
C: Shawn, we know you love jazz. How do you feel about the Rat Pack?
S: Do you really need to ask that?
C: Do you have a favorite song of theirs? Or a movie they did together?
S: I really like Ocean’s Eleven, but Robin and the Seven Hoods was more fun. It has that classic gangster feel and there are some really great numbers.
C: Final question. Which Divergent faction would you be?
E: I’d probably be Divergent, actually. But if I had to pick one of them… Probably, Dauntless?
S: Only because the physicality.
E: True. I don’t think cowardice is the biggest problem with society. If we were going off of that end of it, then I’d probably be Amity, maybe Erudite. I told you I was Divergent.
S: I’d be Erudite, I think. While I obviously like being in law enforcement, Dauntless is too extreme for me.
E: Or you can just come be Divergent with me. (grins)
S: (sighs) Or I’d go be Divergent with Ethan.
Stay tuned for part two of the interview!

Author Interview – Hearts on Fire
Thanks to Hearts on Fire for having me!
First off, can you tell us a little bit about yourself?
Well, I was born and raised in NE Ohio, and I wouldn’t want to live anywhere else. I am a full-time writer. I was lucky enough to marry the love of my life and am the proud parent to three furbabies.
How did you get into writing MM?
Representation matters. When I was growing up, I believe I read all of two books with gay characters in a romantic context (not that I recall many openly gay side characters either). To that end, you would think I’d try to stick with a more young adult audience, but I guess I just find myself writing about the people more my own age. My characters have grown up with me. Given that I don’t write erotica, however, I don’t think my writing would be inappropriate for teens or new adults. In fact I’d love for them to read my work as much as an adult audience. There may be something there that speaks to them or helps them, you never know.
What do you do when you are not writing?
Think about writing. No, really. I’m pretty much always thinking back to writing. “Oh, that’s what I can do for that scene!” “Oh, there’s a new plot idea.” “Oh no, another novel idea.” That last one happens a lot.
But in all seriousness, I enjoy gaming, reading, dancing around my kitchen, being a general nerd… I love history and anything to do with space, so I spend a lot of time doing reading on any number of things. I’m also actively involved in the realm of fandom and enjoy interacting with other fans and creating content for various shows and movies.

“One Bullet” Playlists
I often listen to music when I write, and that means I end up with playlists for all my books. In this case, I created both a playlist for the story plot, but also a sampling of music from Ethan’s therapy playlist.

Author Interview – The Pen & Muse
Thanks to The Pen & Muse for hosting me!
Where are you from? Tell us a little about yourself!
I am from a small town in Northeast Ohio. Basically it’s cows and corn. Not that I would have it any other way.
I’m married with three wonderful furbabies – two Australian Cattle Dogs, and a cat that I found my senior year of high school. I love film and studied it in college – along with writing, theatre, and history – with the intention of breaking into both directing and writing. Hollywood may...
