A Deleted Scene from Agony and Hope!

I have another Agony and Hope scene for you! Yay! I believe I mentioned on social media that I had rewritten the end of the story because it was too long between the engagement to the wedding then the end. When I did so, we lost a bit on the back end. I tried to move a bit around, so a few lines may be familiar from the argument later in the book between Darcy and the earl. In the earlier version, Darcy and Elizabeth were wed at Pemberley before returning to London to tell the Gardiners of t...

A Good Memory is Unpardonable Launch Party
Every once in a while, a story just clicks for me. The plot pops into my head seemingly from nowhere, the writing flows with little effort, and I giggle half the time I’m writing it.
A Good Memory is Unpardonable is one of those books. This is the second time I have written over 70% of a certain book on my phone because I just couldn’t stop when I got started. Who needs a quiet space and a real keyboard, right? I wish I could do that all the time!
This book is not only special to me because of h...

“Fitzwilliam Darcy in His Own Words” is Now in Audio!
ATTENTION AUDIOPHILES! I’m so excited to tell you the news: Fitzwilliam Darcy in His Own Words is now available in your favorite format! And the best news is that it’s in the actual voice so many of you have come to recognize as the personification of Mr. Darcy: the voice of the incomparable Harry Frost!
I think Fitzwilliam Darcy in His Own Words is especially suited to audio, too. Since the entire story is told from Darcy’s perspective, as if he were speaking just to you!
Here’s a couple of Har...

Good morning!
Thanks for joining me today for a second excerpt from TWISTS OF FATE, due for release in less than a month – but read at your peril, for there be spoilers!
Still, I hope you won’t mind a few teensy-weensy ones.
If you missed the first excerpt, you can find it here.
Sooo, with the gleeful assistance of Mr Wickham and his silly helper, the gossip is spreading far and wide.
Mr Darcy gets winds of it (or course he does ), so his plan to return to London...

Faults of Understanding Paperback Release & Giveaway!
Hi, friends! Yes, I know. You thought the celebrations for this book ended weeks ago… but in honor of the fact that the paperback edition has finally released, I thought I’d treat you to one more excerpt and giveaway.
So far, all the scenes I shared pre-publication were from early in the book, but since this month’s blog theme is “Blossoming Love,” I’m going to fast forward a bit, to give you a little taste of what lies ahead for our favorite couple.
As you may remember, Darcy and Elizabeth’s ...

Blossoming Love: The Rosarian (Excerpts from Mrs. Darcy’s Dilemma)
While ruminating on our theme for June, Blossoming Love, and having written a piece on the subject already (“I have always been indifferent to flowers,” June 3), I was reminded of roses, and the fact that in my first Austenesque novel, I wrote a character who was actually a Rosarian. He was a minor character, but a sweet one, Dr. Clarke, the clergyman at Pemberley who married Kitty Bennet. So I thought I’d revisit my Rosarian with some small snippets of excerpts about him and his roses.
Mrs. Da...

‘Twists of Fate’ ~ Excerpt and Giveaway
Good morning!
Well, I’m finally getting somewhere with my next book, and I was wondering if you’d like to hear a little more about the story.
If you’ve seen my earlier posts, you already know the premise:
What if Mr Collins were to shock Elizabeth with his base conduct at the time of his proposal, thus sending her dashing out of her house, and into the arms of Mr Darcy?
What if that encounter was witnessed, and impropriety was assumed?
Evil rumours, an early marriage, a dreadful misunderstand...

It’s release day!! If you’ve preordered Agony and Hope, I hope it’s already downloaded to your Kindle. If not, then hurry on over to Amazon and grab your Kindle or paperback. I’ve been flattered by the response to the previews as well as the impatience for the release day to come. The inital reviews have all been more than I could’ve imagined and I hope everyone enjoys it just as much as the ARC readers.
Some of the early reactions:
“Wow! Well done. I highly recommend this for something real...
Blossoming Love: The Recovery of Fitzwilliam Darcy bonus scene
Hi everyone,
When I was editing The Recovery of Fitzwilliam Darcy, I wrote several scenes to show more of Elizabeth and Darcy (‘William Lucas’) when they were younger. This one did not make it into the book, and when the monthly theme of ‘blossoming love’ was chosen, I immediately thought about it. It takes place before Chapter 1 at a time when Elizabeth and Darcy are teenagers—fourteen and eighteen years old. Enjoy!
Elizabeth and William sat on a wooden bench under the old oak tree in the Benn...
