Rebirth and Rejuvenation: a Second Chance for Hope
Spring is my favorite season! It’s all about new life – baby animals (I saw a fawn just yesterday) and green growing things. The birds return from their winter latitudes and start to sing. And flowers begin blooming everywhere. It means I’ve made it through another winter, and I feel hopeful and rejuvenated.
When I was thinking about this theme – Rebirth and Rejuvenation – I decided to try working some of that springtime magic on one of my books: Leap of Hope: Chance at an Austen Kind of Life. B...

Sneak Peek: Allow Me to Tell You
I’m currently revising a section from the ending of my novel, and as I was reading it one last time, it brought tears to my eyes. I must admit, I do like the journey D&E go through in this novel. I think they find out a lot about themselves as well as each other.
Are you ready for the third excerpt from the first chapter? I hope you enjoy it!!!
If you haven’t been following along so far, you can read the first excerpt here and the second one here.

Sneak Peek: Allow Me to Tell You
Hello everyone,
I would have like to put up some pictures of blossoms from my area in Surrey, but alas, spring has sent us a mixed bag of snow and cold winds, so there’s no chance of it. But at least this section of the WIP has a spring setting — and a proposal.
This excerpt from Allow Me to Tell You is a continuation of the short piece I posted last week here. I hope you enjoy it.

Hello everyone,

Plot Fluffles & Part 1 of How Elizabeth Survived the Playoffs
Hello everyone!
I thought I’d do something a little different today and talk about plot bunnies. I won’t be giving away any hints about what I’m working on now—but rest assured, I have several things in the work—but rather share some of the fun I have with plot bunnies. So far, my problem isn’t an absence of plot bunnies. Instead, it can be the fluffle bouncing around in my head that creates an issue.
Fluffle is a cute word. I looked up what a group of rabbits in called, hoping for something mor...

The Luxury of Paper

Today, paper is quite literally something that grows on trees. It is abundant, disposable, and cheap, quite the opposite of the situation during Jane Austen’s day when paper was something of a luxury good

This, and the cost of postage, explains why letters of Austen’s era were cross-written, sometimes three different times. A writer would write a page full, turn the page 90 degrees and write again, and t...

Youthful Fancies-The Adventures of the Gardiner Girls.
Happy Tuesday, dear Janeites! As we conclude the month of February, we reflect back on the joys of youth. Oh, to be young again; when one’s greatest concern was if mom had packed a Twinkie or Ding Dong in your lunch. When things were always much more dramatic in your mind than in reality. (I mean how many times were you really almost swallowed by quick sand?)
As I thought about the joys of youth, I immediately thought of two characters in my most recent holiday novella, “Comfort and Joy,” Em...

When They Were Young in the Crescent City

Greetings everyone. Jack Caldwell here.
Sorry I’ve been gone for a while. I’m working on three projects at once, and we just got over Carnival Season and Mardi Gras.
The theme for this month is When They Were Young. There is only one book I’ve written in which my characters could be considered young: BOURBON STREET NIGHTS – Volume One of CRESCENT CITY, my Pride & Prejudice/Sense & Sensibility/Emma crossover set in New Orleans.
Now, you’...
