I think my love for books started when I was a teenager on summer vacations reading Mary Higgins Clark novels. As I grew older that turned into reading romance novels. Now, that’s turned into me writing three romance novels and another on the way in the series.
In college I actually majored in Geography and concentrated in Travel & Tourism. I still love to travel constantly, but now find myself working in the world of Finance during the day and writing romance novels at night.
I was born and raised just north of Boston and currently live with my husband and cat. When I’m not running a mile a minute with work and books you can find me at a local wine tasting or out with friends at the pub doing shots of Patron. I have a weak spot for candy, Ghirardelli chocolate to be exact. I am addicted to the three “C”s. Coffee, Cheese and Carbs. I grew up with an Italian family and giving those up will never be an option.
I typically have a dirty mind and zero filter between my head and my mouth. If you are around me…good luck. I’m obsessed with hockey, Oregon football, beaches, Supernatural, Friends and stupid comedy movies. I’ve been called a “tall drink of water” due to my height and love for platform heels. Chances are you will not miss me if we are ever in the same room. Just look for the chick laughing hysterically, wearing heels and holding a glass of wine in her hand. That will be me.

What inspired you to write your first book?
My first Ravyn Rayne book was inspired by Without A Trace, X-Files, and Fringe. I used to watch a lot of FBI crime dramas and I would write tons of fan fiction. I wanted a book that delve into their relationships a bit more than just on the surface. I love the sexual tension those shows brought but I wanted it to get resolved with steamy sex scenes!
When did you first consider yourself a writer?
Probably when I was in high school. I spent a lot of time reading books and writing poetry. I didn’t really get into writing fiction until I was in college. I’d been reading a ton of fan fiction (and novels) and wanted a crack at it. Once I started, I couldn’t stop writing.
What books have influenced your life most?
The Fault In Our Stars, The Handmaid’s Tale, The Hunger Games, Number the Stars
If you had to choose, which writer would you consider a mentor?
It would definitely be Alta Hensley.
Are there any new authors that have grasped your interest?
I’m not sure how “new” they are, but they are certainly new to me! I’ve been reading and loving the romance novels by: Elsa Black, Bryony Kildare, Alta Hensley, and Victoria Winters. Next on my list to tackle are Maggie Ryan and Renee Rose.
Is there anything you find particularly challenging in your writing?
Sometimes finding the right placement for a romantic sex scene can be challenging. Especially if there’s a kidnapping involved or the woman is married. You have to make it believable while still retaining your reader and rewarding them for staying with the story.
Did you learn anything from writing your book and what was it?
Yes! I always do research, no matter the book. With The Emerald Virgin, I learned a lot about futuristic technology. However, most of that research ended up being useful for later on in the series.
Do you have any advice for other writers?
Write as often and as much as you can. Don’t be afraid to let others read it.
Do you have anything specific that you want to say to your readers?
I know you have so many choices of books to read, so thank you for choosing one of my novels! I love hearing from each and every one of my readers. Don’t be a stranger.

As the steam filled the chamber and she began to move, Ravarian gave a final salute. The lad laughed and way her away. When her vehicle crested the rise on its way back to the city, his face took on a serious expression and he returned to the hut. On his desk was the dash-key and, without wasting a minute, he tapped out his report and hit “send”.
She was ready when the uninvited visitors came. Her mind was at peace. As she opened her door to them, she had the random thought that the police reports and newspapers would report her death as a victim of a brutal home invasion burglary. Ravarian was shoved into her living room as one of the men tore her pictures and books from the walls. The other set a bad down that clunked with ominous metallic sounds and approached her with the gait of a predator. She knew that the next few hours would be unpleasant for her and frustrating for her guests. No one would hear her screams. They wouldn’t learn what they wanted to know, only enough of a story so they wouldn’t go after her loved ones. This particular chapter of the Sunstone would close for now, but she was confident that the little fossils, there would be another day just as she know she wouldn’t live to see the next sunrise.

The Gem Apocalypse series has quite a bit to do with eye color, what color eyes do you have?
Mine are green. I guess you could say authors always find ways to pull elements of themselves or real life into their stories.
Speaking of real life elements, do you use any true stories in your fiction?
Fiction is that for a reason. My life wouldn’t make a great book (at least not a romance novel). With that being said, Dating Wars (Federal Agent Chronicles Book 2) does delve a little into some real dating horror stories that I’ve experienced. A few are true, some are fictitious. I’ll let you be the judge.
First dystopian novel you read and fell in love with?
In college I read The Handmaid’s Tale for a Sociology class. I loved the novel and quite honestly it was probably the first book I ever read for school that I went back to read other works by that author. At the time I read it, I thought it more science fiction (and it is). I had no idea there was a category called Dystopian fiction.
Will we get to see more of the other brothers, especially those that have a little less book time?
I would love to do that! The plan is to do a spin-off series featuring Aaron and maybe some time with Henry too, along with more of the courtesans.
