Some days I am too stressed to write, but I think that is fear. I just write. Research, write a short, write a conversation. Just write. Take a bath, take a walk. Take a shower. Just write. (less)

When left alone, I identify projects, invent ideas, and execute. I do not take to micro-managing at all and such an environment tends to stifle me. I become restless and ornery.

I love waking up at 7:00, seeing my children off to school, then brewing my coffee and sitting down to work while still in my pajamas. I love being able to schedule my appointments and attend school events without worry about a work schedule. The hardest part is learning to leave work alone because my "office" is my bedroom.(less)

All Over New York

Hot enough for you?

It’s 90+ here in New York and I feel like this is the first day in two weeks I’ve been able to just sit.

I was in New York City last weekend for the ballet. I finally, FINALLY, saw Swan Lake performed by the American Ballet Theater at Lincoln Center. It’s the first time I’ve seen the entire story and was just…so moved by it. We left New York on the 50th anniversary of the S...

Kallan, the elven witch and queen of Lorlenalin, has no idea that she is the last Drui or that her powers can destroy the gods. As the Fae gods hunt the Drui, Kallan is hidden, her memory taken, and her powers suppressed. But her skills soon exceed the powers of those who hide her. When Kallan’s strength emerges, the gods close in and Kallan’s father is killed. Kallan’s enemy, King Rune, is framed and the gods launch a witch-hunt that lands Kallan and Rune in the middle of Midgard. Now Kallan must align herself with the one man she has sworn to kill and trek the ancient lands of Midgard back to Alfheim if she is to survive the hunt. While battling their prejudices and each other across ancient Scandinavia, Rune and Kallan begin to uncover the truth of Kallan’s past buried beneath a web of lies and the Shadow that haunts them.

“She was the keeper of my smile and my laugh. She who housed my hopes, my dreams, my spirit. She was the center of my being, the bane of my existence, she was my be-all and end-all.”

Broken by Angela B. Chrysler
“I clicked on the message and slipped back into Ireland where I lay smiling in Raven’s arms. Together we watched the fire from the piles of blankets, clothes, and pillows scattered about on the cottage floor.
I felt him kiss the top of head and I tightened my hold on him.
“You know none of this is real, right?” he whispered. “It’s just a fantasy.”
I buried my face in his chest and felt him breathe beneath me.
“I know that,” I said. “But if I can’t have you, then I’ll settle for Ireland. Besides I’ve had a bad day today and I need this. I want to cry.”
...
“But you...” I looked into his eyes. “You walked in and sat down beside me and it feels so right. I can't live without you. I love what we have, where we are... And if ever there is a chance for more, I would take it in a moment’s breath. I love this. Whatever it is, I love it. I need it so much in my life. I need you. I need exactly what we are like this.

“I smiled to hide the hell I lived. I smiled to hide the darkness. On the surface, I smiled and grinned and laughed. I had mastered my emotions. What emotions I feel, I allow. No one suspected my wars.”
Angela B. Chrysler, Broken

“Books. More books than I had ever seen in my life. I gasped and crawled to my knees. I couldn’t breathe. Books galore. Music books, philosophy books. Math books. Geometry. Opera scores, logic. I sobbed and cradled the books. I hugged them to my naked chest and I cried. I smelled them and touched their spines. I remember how violently my fingers shook. I buried my nose in their pages and wept. Never had I ever held so many books in my life. And they were mine. All my very own. The orgasm still riddled my body. It had barely begun to fade. One orgasm ended, but the euphoria was just beginning.”
