Amazon continues its take-over of the world
Have you seen the prices for the new generation/releases of Kindles? Everyone who didn't get an eReader as a gift last Christmas will be getting one this year. The $79.00 base model is absolutely perfect for cheapskates like me (too bad I already took the plunge), and the cost for the touch screens is very moderate. This is going to be interesting.

Excitedly warming up the library card...
...at the news that my local libary will soon start loaning ebooks online via my Kindle. This will make a huge difference to my reading as I confess that I still don't purchase ebooks from Amazon or use my Kindle to its fullest potential. I tend to use it more as a convenient zipdrive I can read my existing ebooks or converted documents off of. But, the ability to borrow the latest releases without waiting for them to hit the used book store or physically visiting the library? The chance to read them, and NOT have to sell them back because I'm trying not to need another bookshelf in my house? SWEET!!!

Barbeque Heaven
Had a wonderful barbeque dinner last night, complete with spicy hot green beans and sweet cornbread. As we sat there licking our fingers, belly stuffed and more than satisfied, I thought about my favorite BBQ stand in San Antonio, Texas - the Bun N Barrel. I couldn't resist looking online and sure enough, they've a wonderful website, including a photo album I could reminisce over.
I lived right down the street and once a week, after an especially hard day at work, I would get off the bus and grab dinner.
