Team OpJMD
Operation JMD is a result of team effort – be it the content, the publishing, the marketing, and myriad of other tasks that go towards bringing a book out.
Trivia: Did you know that OP JMD has been crowd funded?
Even the financing, yes. P’raps this is the first book to be crowd-funded in India!
I owe OP JMD to the time and efforts of many people, many friends.
A big Thank you!

Midnight Dreams vs JMD
Now for the millions of readers, bots and search engines who’re gonna come across this post, here’s a trivia.
Do you know that the book ‘Operation Jai Mata Di‘ was earlier titled ‘Operation Midnight Dreams’?
You do not. So well, let me tell you.
The title ‘Operation Midnight Dreams’ is in sync with the theme of the book. And ‘Operation Jai Mata Di’ is in sync with the operation/mission name that forms the core of the book.

The Powerful Decrees
At the fall of a hat
The powerful decrees
Aye you of a lesser soul
Thou may dance

And jiggle to my follies
Thou may do what you must
But thou shalt never live

The battle of the Spirits
There’s this thing in your mind
A spiral
A whirl so tenacious
It breaks you up
And pulls you down
Ahoy,
The spirits from hell are upon you
And only your spirit can save you.

Sab chalta hai – 2
I’ll not be far from the truth when I say that the Sab Chalta Hai attitude has made deep inroads into our day-to-day lives. It has become a part of our culture, it has become a definition even – of our impaled society. It subtly gnaws at us and dampens our individual and collective spirits. We let it.
We know it. We know it isn’t right. We know that something needs to be done. Yet we don’t care. Life moves on. Sab chalta hai, right?

Heart vs Mind, and The Shame that is a Wilful Country
A strong title, eh? Read through.
So well, I was late for this meeting at an uptown hotel tower at Goregaon East. I had been on time, but the uptown tower had run out of parking space. So I had to drive my wheels out of the complex and scout for a parking space. By the time I found one, I was pretty late. Excuses galore. Bottom line: late.
As I was striding towards my destination, a small boy accosted me. He had a sparkle in his eyes as he spoke to me:
‘Sir, shoes polish karwalo’

At the barber’s
Waiting at the barber shop is kinda cool. There’s nothing specific to do. You have a license to be at your disheveled best. You are. Everyone is!
Each one out there is trying to figure out something worthwhile to do while waiting to be trimmed. We got to be doing something worthwhile, all the while, you see. There are stacks of film magazines, news papers and stuff which are not really interesting. To be worthwhile however, there’s this mandatory flipping thru as many magazines one can get on...
