What if they made a movie of your life?

After a lifetime of asking questions to thousands of other people - to understand their truth and share it with the world - it's always interesting to be on the receiving end of a Q & A. How would YOU answer the questions posed to me in a recent interview? Here's a link: bit.ly/2xB2mO8

Celebrating fathers - mine and yours

Long before there was the Internet & 24-hr cable, there was Dad. After Ralph & Louise made me their son at age 3, I always had lots of love & the latest news from around the world. Dad subscribed to 3 daily papers, a weekly news mag, & Life. Every night we watched Cronkite or Huntley-Brinkley. You wouldn't know Dad graduated from 8th grade & then left home to make it on his own. He was always the best-informed guy around, and he made sure I was, too. He is one of the true-life heroes of 'Letter from Alabama,' the inspiring story of 2 orphaned & abandoned children saved by grace, love, & a startling letter. I was a missing child, and then I was found

65 years ago on May 23, 1952, a boy's life changed forever when a 6'4" truck driver made the 700-mile drive to Mobile AL to find a 3-year-old who had been the subject of a missing-child search for 6 months. When he had me safely in his care, we boarded a Gulf Mobile & Ohio train and sped off to a new life in a new family in a new place. This event is the turning point in my life and 'Letter from Alabama,' the inspiring true story of a child orphaned and abandoned, then saved by grace, love, and a startling letter. Thank you, guardians of the word & bearers of the light

Starting April 9, ‘Letter from Alabama’ joins in celebrating National Library Week. The theme is ‘Libraries Transform,' and that's certainly what happened to this boy. The branch library in my hometown was within walking / biking distance of my house. There I found the words that opened up the world to me. After the 2015 publication of my memoir of uncommon grace, a family’s love, and a startling letter – I gave copies to libraries in towns where the events in the book occurred. Thank you to librarians who share the world. For more about Library Week: http://bit.ly/1gUe48B
