Doomed...

Strange how in places where the ground is not heaped with ill-planned cityscapes, flood waters soak seamlessly into the earth to replenish subterranean water tables, while those places that deny such age-old natural flows end up carrying the water like stagnant pools, looking neglected in more ways than one.

To paraphrase a famous saying, those who don’t learn from geography are doomed to suffer it.

Climate-Unconscious...

Climate Change harms cities that stubbornly believe they can limitlessly industrialize with no regard for eco-harmony.

More intense cyclones form from the heat such industry gradually builds up and lets loose. Those cyclones then return to balance the irreverently tipped scales.

To natural forces as ancient as these, we are but ants shuffling along a tiny tree limb within the endless flow of time.

The damage these cyclones cause in stubbornly blind cities seeking to climb the economic ladder ends up causing greater economic harm in what can best be termed cosmic irony.

Fires & Floods...

You don’t need a scientist to tell you that most so-called developed cities are not at all ready for Climate Change. Some are burning while others are drowning.

When the continued use of fossil fuels gets more protection than the lives of innocent people, you know something’s not right with the world.

The same people who say phasing out fossil fuels will repress the economy don’t seem to be seeing what fires and floods are doing to it instead.

Artificial Intelligence...

Generative A.I. will be replaced by General A.I., which in turn will lead to Evolutionary A.I., soon after which there will come Sentient A.I.

And that’s when things will get truly interesting. Because the only way up from there is divinity.

Mad Minds...

A mad mind speaks strange truths. But none can tell whether the mind finds the words or if the words find the mind.

Not-So-Obvious...

Even the simplest thing can be made to sound better.

Case in point: Say why you deleted a chat message but in a classy, non-obvious, and intriguing way...

“I just sent something, and then thought about it again, and deleted it.”
