Graphic novels – and other highly visual formats of storytelling – are important tools for developing readers of all ages. Authors who create in this genre discuss their work and process. The panel includes: Jenni & Matt Holm, Andy Griffiths, Jarrett Krosoczka, John Rocco, and Raina Telgemeier and will be moderated by Eva Volin.

Lacey Loves to Read!
Hey Washington State folks --
I am thrilled to be involved in Lacey Loves to Read:
Throughout the month of February, the community is invited to read works by award winning author Jennifer L. Holm, and attend a special “Meet the Author” reception at the Lacey Community Center on Thursday, February 28, from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. The evening includes refreshments, great door prizes, and a book signing with the author.

Got graphic novels?
Looking to build your classroom library or maybe even your home bookshelf with some great graphic novels for kids?
The brilliant folks from ALSC (Association for Library Service to Children, a division of the ALA) have published a terrific CORE COLLECTION LIST OF GRAPHIC NOVELS.
The list includes a lot of favorites from around our house, including Benny & Penny, Johnny Boo, Lunch Lady, Drama, and Cardboard.
Check it out! It's always fun to fall into a great graphic novel!
