James Ray - The Secret, Creating What You Desire and Deserve ...or Not?
I like the book and CDs known as "The Secret" http://www.amazon.com/Secret-Soundtra... as the Bible itself says "as a man believes in his heart, so he is" (Proverbs 23:7). The law of attraction is nothing new to people of faith.
Yet honestly I never really knew, nor heard of James Ray until after the infamous sweat lodge scandal broke and people started dying around him.
Former employee Melinda Martin had some bad things to say about Ray on ABC news, but I still would like to give the guy the benefit of the doubt until I learn a bit more.
Ray's attorney on Larry King seemed sincere and straightfoward ...even to the extent of telling Larry attendees pay $9,000 to attend Ray's seminars.
But as James Ray's videos on his media page (at his website reveal) he often says "You have to be 3 for 3" aligning your:
1. Thoughts
2. Feelings
3. Actions
...to get what you desire and deserve in life.
Since the secret essentially teaches you attract what you are ...and the energy you give off... how then should we see a guy like James Ray when he is arrested?
Here are a few options and ways to look at James Ray as he passes through some personal hardship for his spiritual teachings concerning what he deems to be the secret.
a. Maybe James Ray is being falsely persecuted and the allegations are completely inaccurate?
b. Maybe James Ray is not fully congruent and is a bit less than 3 for 3, which is to say perhaps his thoughts and feelings are / were in the right place concerning the tragic sweat lodge incident, but his actions were a bit irresponsible leading to the deaths of three followers / participants in his seminar?
c. Maybe James Ray's motives (which some would say are purely financially at $9,000 to attend a seminar) are now being exposed with the death of three seminar participants who he seemingly neglected accordingly to former employee Melinda Martin?
d. Maybe James Ray is entirely innocent and has no moral or legal obligation to those who participate / attend his seminars as no motivational speaker or spiritual teacher can be fully responsbile for consenting adults attending his or her event(s)... nor can a speaker / teacher fully ensure or prevent the way an audience or individual may hear or act upon a message... even to the extent of taking it (or part of the message) out of context and acting upon it inappropriately or excessively due to hearing with an imbalanced ear or unschooled zealous heart.
Since I don't know James Ray, but like the message of the The Secret - perhaps those who know James Ray, or who have worked for James Ray can comment further and give their side of the story and share some experiences to further enlighten us all.
Imprisonment most likely is not what James Ray desires, but is it what he deserves?

I can assure you as a former fitness trainer, life coach and licensed minister there is nothing spiritual about dehydrating, vomiting and dying prematurely.
Faithful followers of Jesus Christ - the greatest spiritual teacher of all time - were never put through such rigors, nor should they be.
To pay $9,000 to be subjected to and endure such foolishness is spiritual blasphemy and hypocrisy as former James Ray employee Melinda Martin uncovers the workings at the sweat lodge and the internal issues with employees that "spiritual warrior" James Ray had going on within his organization.
It's sad to see people hungry for true spirituality being made merchandise of because the message potentially (if Christ centered) could be pure and empowering. Undoubtedly the Bible says, God is a "warrior" (Exodus 15:3) ...so there is a degree of truth to this message as even the apostle Paul embraced the message of being a spiritual warrior (see 2Corinthians 10:3-6, Ephesians 6:10-17).
However the false spiritual teacher always points people to himself. John the Baptist wisely said, "I must decrease, be He [Christ:] must increase" (John 3:30).
The way up in God is to go down and humble yourself rather than exalt yourself. Truly we can do nothing against the truth, because time always eventually brings the truth to bear - whether to confirm a "spiritual warrior" or break him of his erroneous ways and teachings.
Salvation is still forever found in Christ Jesus alone, without which there can be no genuine and enduring personal total transformation, inner liberation or spiritual maturation.
I pray James Ray, his sweat lodge participants and former followers will awaken to that reality.
On Christ Jesus the solid rock I stand, all other ground is sinking sand.
Let us remember never to put our eyes on ourselves or man. Lift up your eyes to heaven where our help comes from!
Forgiveness, grace and truth is for whosoever will embrace the crucified and resurrected Christ - in Christ he or she can immediately experience newnesss of life!

Thank God when I recently drove from Orlando to Marco Island and back (eight hours in total) in a Toyota Prius hybrid I had no problems. I must admit it was a bit awkward at first, but very economical and environmentally efficient costing no more than one tank of gas - about $30 in total for the eight hours of driving.
Unfortunately (or fortunately for the safety of drivers) Toyota plans to recall about 300,000 Prius hybrids worldwide over a brake problem and will notify the U.S. and Japanese governments Tuesday, a news report said, as a top executive will testify before U.S. lawmakers over recall woes that have tarnished its reputation for quality and safety.

McDonalds in China: McDonalds in China - The Worst Thing for China
Sadly McDonalds is going full force into and across China.

...McDonalds is one of the main reasons America is one of the most obese / fattest nations on earth.
Because McDonalds has sway over the way beef is produced in a nation wherein they do business, McDonalds being such a huge buyer of beef (economically they have the power to influece the way cattle ranchers feed and raise their cows).
Since the American business model wants: bigger, fatter, faster, cheaper ...it leads to poor quality of beef, along with harmful hormones and corn feed cattle (something the Creator never intended).
When you take cows off grass and put them on corn, cows get more diseases ...which in turn goes into the beef we eat. Many American beef processing plants now put ammonia and other chemical soups together to treat the beef in before sending it to market as a way of trying to prevent meat contamination and diseases.
Yet the chemicals and additives themselves also lead to disease, immune deficiencies and cause havoc to the human body (sometimes causing various forms of cancer in the intestines and tumors).
What is worst of all for China, a nation with heavy air pollution already, is McDonalds way of doing business will lead China to feed cows corn and other forms of feed other than grass, which in turn will increase the animal feces / manuer which will have to be dumped somewhere.
In America cows and chickens feces / manuer is being dumped into our rivers and waterways, polluting and contaminating the water supply (causing more diseases and parasitic infections). Hence China can expect the same with McDonalds doing business across their country and taking over the beef industry (or at least influencing China's beef processing heavily).
China - beware of McDonalds and learn from America's failings before you fall head first in similar fashion.
Make McDonalds serve healthy beef, stop frying food in grease and be honest about the ingredients and food additives they put within their quick meals.
Be wise China and regulate the way McDonalds does business in your backyard.
The American way is not always the best way!

World Travel and Shots: International Travel, Shots and Medication to Prevent Disease
It's always good to get as few shots as possible (still turn my head to this day whenever they inject me :o)
When going to India and Thailand years ago they were giving Larium for typhoid at the time (something a CDC doctor in California told me was killing military soldiers and causing them to go into hallucinations). Thankfully I avoided the pill and took a milder form (as they told me the pill was good for 2 years and the shot only 1 year - usually it seems to work the reverse).
So I took the pill, went to Thailand and still got typhoid through some bad lobster. I had a wicked fever and chills for a week and my urine was like coca-cola before I got an antibiotic which knocked it out of me and restored me to good health happily within days.
So my experience is the CDC pills and shots don't always work and the mercury in these shots is equally deadly for the human body.

Florida Kite Surfer Killed by Sharks off Stuart Beach: Florida Surfer Warning, Shark Migration
As a surfer myself shark attacks always get my attention. Yet never have I heard of a death as a result of a shark attack in Florida. That is until I heard the horrible news this week of kite surfer Stephen Howard Schafer who apparently was attacked by several sharks, causing serious wounds by which he died.
The lifeguard who paddled out to Schafer and brought him in on his board had to be feeling a bit freaky for himself after such a brutal devouring. Surely the lifeguard himself was thinking if he'd be dessert after the 38 y/o kite sufer was consumed for dinner.
I've heard it said by fishermen and helicopters who have flown over Volusia County beaches in Florida (arguably where the most shark attacks happen in the world) that the waters are infested with sharks.
Florida governmental heads should really do something about it to preserve life, assure tourists and safeguard families.
Nets worked for the olympics in Sydney, Australia. The Chinese will happily hunt shark for sharkfin soup - why not us?
Multiple shark bite wounds is no laughing matter, nor to be taken lightly when a kite surfer shows up unconscious when rescued. Paramedics tried resuscitate Schafer on the beach before he was rushed to the hospital, where he subsequently died.
Being gobbled up by sharks would be enough to give me a heart attack. A surfer can punch one shark in the eyes and nose, but several in the midst of a feeding frenzy is a bit much.
Hence I always pray before paddling out to surf Florida's shark infested waters.

Whenever I earn a significant amount of money, I always earnestly take a portion to invest in myself.
