Dance to Your Own Drum!
Hello my beautiful souls!
Today, something happened. It was deep, profound, joyful and amazing!
Let me tell you about it. Yesterday, I was on a Zoom call in a class given by Jara Geipel, a friend and money mindset coach. It was awesome. And at the end, we spoke about feeling ashamed of admitting (often even to ourselves) our desires and aspirations, i.e. I want a happy lifestyle for myself alone, not only for my children. Like there is something bad about you if you say you want money to finance your own ideal lifestyle, rather than only you want your children to have security, opportunities and happy experiences. - Or you with your children. But being a "proper mum" meant you had to sacrifice and always put your children first.
Something similar came up as well in our Sunday Tarot class by Sinead Fine where we went deeper into the archetype of the Hanged Man card, complete with visualisation, where my personal experience was to change my perspective completely on an issue I was inquiring about. It was quite graphic for me, too. A bit like "a wink with a fence pole," as we say in German, meaning, it's right-in-your-face obvious.
This morning, when I recorded Tirza's Tarot Tuesday, Meretseger came up as Goddess of the week and she brings the message of being authentic, standing in your own power, recharging in solitude and going forth into the world shining your light, regardless who likes it or not. It's about taking off the weight of social conditioning and adverse life experiences that often make us believe that we have to be, act, look, behave a certain way in order to be accepted, loved and respected, when in actuality this belief is very disempowering.
Last but not least, I had a session with astrologer and hypnotist Marce Hilferty in the early afternoon and forgiving yourself, as well as (again!) owning our needs and desires unashamedly is healthy and doesn't make you a bad person or egomaniac.
So yeah, talk about driving the message home! And it's been a general message in my reading, too, Tarot cards and all. What I love about having an open intuition now and being in that energy is that I can spot those synchronicities blindfolded from a mile away. And I love how much it builds trust in the universe (God/dess, Spirit, Creator, whatever you want to call it) and, by default therefore, yourself. It's just such a great, empowering feeling, when you're sure you didn't just make that up because it came in so many ways from so many different sources.

Talking about dancing to your own drum can be taken figuratively, as Meretseger teaches us, or literally, picking up your own hand-held frame drum and dancing with it or being in a circle where someone else does the drumming and you the dancing.
It's an amazingly fun and healthy way to not only get into shape, but also into an ecstatic consciousness that enables you to have psychic experiences of some sort. In indigenous cultures, this is practiced regularly, and dancing to the drum is part of many shamanic rituals the world over. It is also a practice that has is very popular among the new age and esoteric/occult communities, part of women's circles, Wiccan or Pagan rituals, etc.
A drum represents the heartbeat of Mother Earth, the Great Mother who gives life to all of the worldly creation, or the heartbeat of your birth mother, the first thing we hear as an infant, which also explains why it is so soothing for babies to be held lying on the mother's chest, or another caregiver, if the mother isn't available at the time (or it's simply daddy's or granny's turn, etc.). Kangarooing babies in this manner that have been born prematurely can mean the difference between death and survival. It's that powerful!
Of course, you can play a recorded drumming, but all women - and men - I've heard of or read about who have their own hand-held drum, say that beating it yourself, especially with your hand, rather than a stick, has a different energy still. It's more powerful. I'm not a regular drummer myself, but having done so occasionally, even if I can't keep a steady rhythm as well as a more seasoned player, definitely feels empowering and enchanting. It takes you into a different state of mind, whether you are sitting down or dancing with it.
And because of the power of that heartbeat, the rhythm you beat yourself, becoming one with the Divine Feminine, the All-Feminine, the feminine creative principle, is one of the many reasons I find - for myself and my clients - working with Goddess archetypes so enriching and empowering. It holds its own special quality that is unique, deep and soul-fulfilling.

Cold Food for Hot Days!
Summer Heat doesn't agree with steaming hot and heavy food, so what to eat?
Salads are definitely a great choice. The green leafy variety, that is. You can make a vinaigrette, (vegan) yoghurt or some other dressing, add fresh herbs from the store or home-grown, and top it with things like cucumber, cherry tomatoes, spring onions, grated carrots and other cool, fresh produce that you like. When you serve it with fresh, crusty bread like (baguette or ciabatta) and a little dish of olive oil to dunk it in if you like that, or for a more filling meal, add some honey-glazed goat's cheese on top, it becomes even more delicious. Some pieces of fruit in the mix, especially when you add a honey-mustard dressing, go really well with that, too.
Then, the children's favourite, ice cream! An easy and cost-efficient way is to buy your own molds and add fresh or 100% pure bought juice. This is quick to make, it just takes a few hours to freeze, so best leave it overnight. If you want to do things at a more advanced level, you can always free different juices in layers, so you'll end up with a striped popsicle.
Cold soup. A cool soup to refresh you in hot times is another favourite when you want something light and not sweet. If you make a basic vegetable broth and add whichever veggies you love, then let the whole thing cool down in the fridge before serving, it's a great way to have a winter-warmer turned summer-cooler.

I thought I'd lost it forever!
Hello my beautiful souls!
As you may or may not know, I run two businesses, being a Goddess Facilitator, Tarot reader and past life regression guide, and I'm also a romance author. Coming out of burnout has been a long road of recovery and one of the challenges I was facing was the lack of inspiration for creative writing. Instead of getting better, however, it got worse.
In the end, I couldn't write at all anymore and it's been over a year since I was able to finish a story at all. I wasn't even able to do the editing of works that I'd previously written and my editor Dana from Dana's Edits sent back to me. Bless her heart, she never complained or put any pressure on me.
Of course, I am big on self-development and I've been studying and meditating and lately also had hypnosis sessions. A lot of things improved. I have more energy, can focus a lot longer and get more things done in a shorter period of time. Many things I found very challenging for a long time which are things that people usually just do without even thinking about, I can now do a lot more easily. A sense of normalcy has entered my life these past few months and I am so deeply grateful for it!
But my writing seemed lost forever and, honestly, it scared the shit out of me. I really feared it wasn't going to come back. I'd sat down to do the editing at least, but even that had made me hit a mental brick wall and I JUST COULDN'T!!! I found it easier to do my accounts - and that's really saying something, trust me.
So on Friday, I took part in a group RTT Hypnosis session by Jara Geipel, today is the full moon in Aquarius, I do my daily self-hypnosis that Marce Hilferty has given me, I work with Tarot, Goddess archetypes and power animals.
And it's finally worked! I started writing on Saturday and yesterday, I finished the first draft of a 20K word story! You cannot believe how I partied, dancing through the livingroom and posting it on social media. I wanted to share my joy with the world! So here is the picture of proof! And if you experience a challenge in your life and feel scared that it'll never be right again, look at this picture from someone who used to write twelve stories a year and then couldn't write anymore for over a year!

What I love about doing readings is that you can track certain patterns over time. For example, last week, the cards were all very earthy, and this trend has continued, but the air element influence of yesterday's Aquarius full moon has definitely entered the picture as well.
There is progress and and progression. And when I watch other creators' content, Tarot readers, astrologers, whatever it may be, I can see that a lot of the themes are the same or similar in nature. It amazes me all over again each time. Spotting synchronicities is just amazing and so much fun. It also trains the brain to pick up on these things, which in turn enables you to make better life choices on a day-to-day or longer-term basis. That's what's so exciting about it.
If the energies are more leaning towards emotions and spiritual, inner work, you may not want to start a building project right then. Or vice versa. This week, we also continue the theme of collaboration, of partnership. And I felt called to pull an additional oracle card as well. It is beautiful to witness how these three elements in the reading work together and complement each other. But let me stop talking now and see for yourself:

BFFs 4eva!
Having a best friend who always has your back, who will listen and not judge, give you courage and lighten your heart when you're feeling down and afraid, is something no money can buy. I am blessed to have three such women in my life who are absolutely powerful Goddesses and I wouldn't know what to do without them.
We celebrate each other's wins, share joy and happiness, but also worries and gloomy thoughts. We can be ourselves with each other and don't have to pretend or hide anything. There is no comparisonitis either because we understand that we're all uniquely different and we all brings different things to the table - good and bad - no judgement!
To say I'm grateful and feel blessed to have such friends in my life is an understatement if ever there was one. And because I know how precious it is to have friends like that, I started The BFF Diaries series. These books are about women who are all connected through friendship, but each can be read as a standalone. They are about mature women who find love with somewhat younger hot guys that will do anything for the women they love.
Izzy's Law - The first book in The BFF Diaries series. Izzy is half-Italian, half-Irish, half-Mafia, half-cop. That's the legacy from both sides of her family. And she is a nurturing fire-cracker who loves family and cooking for everyone. She has a grown son with a girlfriend whose brother is about to be released from prison. Sexy Bad Boys!
Being subscribed to my newsletter or reading this blog, I think it is safe to assume that you love sexy bad boys. Just like me! I love bikers, military special forces, MMA fighters, rockstars, especially when it's a reverse harem... You get the idea.
So let me tell you about a few of my books that have all those morally grey hot heroes in them.

Unfortunately, it's not all sunshine because there are some really bad guys who want Ava dead. Of course, her men will do everything in their power to not let that happen.
The Hopping Hippos - A rockstar romance that starts in London, continues in Atlanta and then goes on tour. (A second part as free download is in the making!) What happens when you have an emptynester mum looking for a job in IT? You make her the personal assistant, a.k.a. glorified babysitter of a rockband whose members are totally out of control.
Fromance (Short Edition) - a free download that is also part of the Hot Freebies promotions below - together with plenty of hot reads by other amazing authors! Charlie is so excited to have made it to college in Hawaii. On her first day, she meets Waltz and Train, two best friends. Are You Making Time for Romance?
We all lead busy lives, single, with a partner, being a parent or not, we tend to forget to romance ourselves. Yup, that's a thing, even when you have a loving, romantic partner. Romancing yourself is making yourself feel good, pleasuring yourself, giving yourself joy and the feeling of being sexy. And that is first and foremost an inside job. But it also means taking action.
As a single woman, I like to dress especially nicely some days, use certain lotions on my skin, take time to pleasure myself and flirt in front of the mirror. Yes, you can totally flirt with yourself. Pretend you're the female lead in your favourite romance novel, for example. Take sexy selfies, cook food and set the table with candles, decorate the plate, like you'd get in a posh restaurant, etc.
You can also do magic spells for self-love and pleasure if that's your jam. Dance around the house naked and bask in the moonlight, soaking in that beautiful, powerful feminine energy, run a feather over your skin, bathe in rose petals and don't be too stingy to buy yourself that new pleasure toy!

Did You Know...?
I love history, especially the more ancient one and sometimes I just read up on random topics to do with that. One of my exploits was going down the rabbit hole on the month of August because I knew it was named after a Roman emperor and I wanted to find out a little more.
There are some cool historical things you may not know about the month of August (last full summer month in the Northern and last full winter month in the Southern hemisphere. So I thought, I'd share them here with you here. (If you're not a random nerd like me, you can just scroll further down for more free books, of course.)

In the original ten-month Roman calendar, the month went by the name of Sextilis, meaning “the sixth month” in Latin. It wasn’t until around 700BC that August was rudely shoved back in the order of months when January and February were added to the beginning of the year by King Numa Pompilius.
August has also changed its number of days multiple times. In the ten-month Roman calendar, the months all had either 30 or 31 days, totaling 304 days in the year. Not only did Pompilius add January and February to the calendar, but he also reduced the number of days in August down to 29. It wasn’t until Julius Caesar introduced the Julian calendar that it was left with 31 days, and it’s stayed the same ever since.
In 8 BC, the month was named Augustus, in honor of the first Roman Emperor, Augustus Caesar. Augustus (born Gaius Octavius) was the adopted son of Julius Caesar and ruled from 27 BCE until his death in 14 CE. He was born on the 23rd of September, 63 BCE, but he was named Augustus in honor of the month of August.
Back in the days of the Anglo-Saxons, the month was called Weod Monath. Its translation of “weed month” is quite literal – in this month weeds and other plants grow the fastest in the northern hemisphere. (Incidentally, the German word for month is Monat, so it's pretty obvious that it stems from the same root word.)
On the 1st of August, Lammas day is celebrated as the first day of harvest in the UK. Traditionally it was the day in which harvested wheat would be baked into bread and given to the church. The bread was used as the Communion bread for a special mass to celebrate the beginning of the harvest. This tradition ended when Henry VIII broke away from the Catholic Church.
On the 6th of August, 1762, the first-ever sandwich was created, at least with such a name. It was named after the Earl of Sandwich when he requested a dish involving meat between two pieces of bread. As the story goes, he requested it as he was in the middle of a gambling game and didn’t want to interrupt it.
The Perseid Meteor Shower is one of the most popular meteor showers. It usually peaks around August 11th to 13th and can be visible from most parts of the world and draws many stargazers and astronomy enthusiasts.
August was a fateful month for the ancient Roman city of Pompeii. On the 24th of August 79AD, Mount Vesuvius erupted near the city. The mountain spewed out great clouds of ash, smoke, and pumice, which rained down on Pompeii’s citizens. Unfortunately for Pompeii, that wasn’t the end of it either – next came molten lava, which buried the remaining residents 7 feet (2.1 m) deep!
In many cultures, August is known as the month of the Honey Moon. This is because it is the time of year when honey is harvested from beehives. And if you are the superstitious type, plan your honeymoon to fall on this month as well.
An old Irish legend tells that a witch could turn herself into a cat eight times, but on the ninth time (August 17), she couldn’t regain her human form. This bit of folklore also gives us the saying, “A cat has nine lives.” Because August is a yowly time for cats, this may have prompted the speculation about witches on the prowl in the first place.

Summer Sun - Vacation Fun!
Did you know, I used to study tourism management in London, UK in my 20s, graduating in two degrees in the field. The idea was to travel around the world and advise destination management and governments on how to best develop their tourism industry to make it sustainable long-term. When I finished, I received a lucrative offer from a travel company, but shortly after graduation, I became pregnant with my son Tajun, so instead of jet-setting around the world, I moved back to Germany to be closer to my family and became a (mostly) stay-at-home mum.
That doesn't mean my passion for travel has diminished. I've been to 22 countries so far and I'd love to visit even more. I also love to set my romance novels in different locations, although I must say, most of them are set in the USA (I've been there twice and can't wait to go again).
For example, my free download FROMANCE (SHORT EDITION), which is part of the book promotions I am running at the moment, is set in Hawaii, as is my novel HER BADASS BIKERS. But I also have other states and other countries, like Germany, India and Spain. Sometimes, my MCs travel as well and I'd love to include more countries in the future that way, for example Italy and Sweden. There are a few books in planning already and I'm sure I'll write something else spontaneously, too. I guess that's gonna be a surprise then, for me as well as you! Haha!
