The Hopping Hippos: Part 2 is Coming on my Birthday! (And It's FREE!)

My new why choose romance novel, The Hopping Hippos (Part 2) is coming for free!

Hello beautiful friends,

I am so happy to be able to inform you that I have finally got a slot with my editor and am in the process of finalising edits, so I can bring THE HOPPING HIPPOS: PART 2 to you for free.

It'll be a FREE download for all newsletter subscribers! I will send out the link to the download page on my birthday, November 3rd. I can't wait to share this follow-on to THE HOPPING HIPPOS: HAPPINESS COMES IN LEAPS!!!

Please note, that this is a continuation of the story, so Part 2 is NOT a standalone! I know many of you have already read the first book, so you may want to freshen up on it here:

Characters

Janis - single mum and emptynester. Her twin daughters are at college while she is job hunting and is hired to be the personal assistant (glorified babysitter) of The Hopping Hippos, the world's most infamous rock band.

Riot - The Hippos have lost their keyboardist, Ricky James, to a drug overdose (off-page). He survived and is now in rehab, but won't return to the band anymore. There is an audition in London for a new band member and Riot is the last one auditioning. He gets the hots for Janis right away.

Shane - Badboy lead singer and rhythm guitarist of the Hippos who always needs to be centre of attention and is a bit of a diva. Janis has him on his hands and knees only minutes after her arrival at the band house in Atlanta. Shane was born on the same day as Tyler, and the two grew up as best friends and took guitar lessons together as kids. One day, they took classmate Reece along who then discovered his love for bass guitar. Shane's hobby is drawing.

Tyler - Lead guitarist of the Hippos and writes a lot of lyrics to songs. He loves words and spends hours writing when time allows, although lately, the entire band has been on a downwards spiral in free fall - sex, drugs and rock'n'roll style.

Reece - Bass guitarist of the Hippos and the quietest one of them all. He is tired of being high and having meaningless sex all the time but isn't quite sure how to withdraw from it all - until Janis comes along and whips them all into shape.

Wiggs - drummer of the Hippos, has severe ADHD and sees auras when he's off the meds and drugs. He liked to jump around wildly at parties as a teen, was disdainfully called a hopping hippo by a girl once, and that’s the epic story of how the band got their name. Even though he is mostly into women, he has a burning hot attraction with Riot, making the atmosphere between them scorching hot.

Blurb for The Hopping Hippos, Part 2

Janis Ratliff and her rockstars The Hopping Hippos are continuing their world tour, but the stress wears them down and the relationship suffers as a consequence. When a mentally disturbed groupie posts an intimate video and shots are being fired after a concert, things are spiralling out of control.

Read The Hopping Hippos (Happiness Comes in Leaps - this is the first part and can be read as a standalone) here:

A Message from Stag!

Hello my beautiful souls!

As I've already given you an excerpt from my new article in last week's blog, I will keep this part short and sweet. The article was finally finished on Friday morning and I am so happy to to present you with the link to the full article.

Before I do, a word of warning. He has given a message and even though it is meant as merely a neutral explanation, some people may feel triggered by it because it also relates to current affairs and a lot of people have very strong emotions attached to them (no judgement, obviously, just to let you know), so some of you may feel stronger emotions than usual when reading one of my articles.

Bearing that in mind, I wish you much joy in reading, and hopefully inspiration and and opening of the heart (one of the deer's powerful medicine).

What the Stag is Happening?

Hello my beautiful souls!

First of all, apologies for being late with my weekly spiritual blog. I was hoping to be able to finish my article that I am currently writing for this week. However, things keep happening. Like my youngest asking me to help her with learning for her pedagogy written test, my middle one needing accommodation in London with one of my trusted friends (?!) because she wants to go to a Lauren Hill concert and her friend bailed out on her last minute, and now she doesn't have the money to pay for decent accommodation on her own.

So I'm sending messages, posting on Facebook and promising free sessions to put up my daughter and keep her safe, my aunt (who lives on the top floor in our house) asking a million questions about everything we've done or haven't done while she was on holiday with my cousin...

The list goes on. And I got interrupted so often that I lost my mojo, so there is no way, I can finish the article tonight, but I don't want to leave the newsletter any longer.

As this is all about power animals, you may want to read up on your favourite animal, or your own one if you know it here!

What I can do, is give you a preview excerpt, exclusive to you. Because the last time a power animal approached me in this way, it was here to stay. And that was Wolf in 2012. Yes, 12 years ago. There have been others, of course, because animals often come for a time to assist you in a specific task or challenge in your life, a phase of development, and then leave again or retreat into the background until, maybe, they are needed again.

You might not know if a new power or spirit animal is there for a time or here to stay, but I can tell the difference by now, as I am personally working intensely with animal spirits, even though I mostly write about Goddesses. So this animal is here for long-term, and he is majestic, proud, in the best sense, serene, powerful, a leader, and wise.

He came bit by bit, increasing my awareness as he appeared in social media posts, YouTube videos, conversations, then dreams and visions. Up to the point when I knew I wasn't making things up, he was calling my attention, while I was going (and still am) through some profound inner changes.

Can you guess yet which animal I'm talking about?

Deer: Stag with large antlers

Yes, I have been stalked by a Stag for some time now! A few weeks, in fact. His presence is felt, but he isn't a bully or in-your-face attention grabbing. Instead, he stands there, in the forest, among the trees, silent, confident in the knowledge that his energy and presence is enough to draw my attention eventually.

He doesn't demand action like yesterday. Instead, he waits calmly for me to acknowledge him, make time and connect. A lesson in patience in itself. But as I became more and more aware of his presence first and the energy he exudes, I began to understand how perfectly aligned it all was with what is going on in my life and within me, the shifts I feel are happening, the change in responses, the way I am no longer triggered by people and things I'd have gone ape-shit mental over a few years ago.

And also, Stag is the perfect companion to navigate the great upheavals on the world stage. The political shifts, the wars, the killings and suffering. He is the calm amidst the storm. And I feel this inside me. It is not apathy. Far from it. There is a deep caring. But it isn't all-consuming, desperate and outraged. The best way I can describe it is loving compassion.

Granted, I don't sit in the middle of hitting missiles or any other horrific events happening in other countries. I am comfortable in my own home in a peaceful part of the world. However, I feel like I understand things on a deeper level and I don't have to go psycho to show I care and do not agree with any form of violence.

It is 2:30 am and I might be rambling, but I am trying to give verbal form to a serenity, an inner peace and an intuitive deeper knowing of myself that you may understand. And exactly this feeling is Deer energy. I don't have a "10-steps to" guide to give you. On the one hand, this is a deeply personal experience, on the other, it is of global concern and needs to be shared with the world. And it can't be rushed.

So I will take my time writing and share with you when it is finished instead. For now, find an excerpt below...

Deer: Doe & Fawn

The deer family contains 43 species, from reindeer to the Chinese water deer. However, the deer I am talking about here is the one commonly known in mid-European woods nowadays. In Germany, the roe deer is the most common, followed by the red deer. Both species look very much alike and for the purpose of this article, can be used interchangeably. The most common deer in North America (think Bambi), the white-tailed deer, have great similarities, too, and are also included, as well as any deer that are very similar to these.

Lately, I have encountered Stag more and more often, which is why I am writing about deer now. It actually all started with me connecting more to my own ancestors, mostly of the land I live on. I’ve asked them to protect the property and my apartment, as well as my family and we get on great.

As I write this, I am only a month shy of turning 53, and it has taken this long for me to feel at home in Germany. I’ve always felt I belonged more in the UK, my spiritual home, where I lived a decade in my 20s, Spain and Ireland are also contestants. Those are the countries I’ve always felt most at home in. But these last couple of years, including going through menopause has seen some profound shifts inside myself, and Stag obviously thought it was time for me to work with him.

Similar to when Wolf came to me in 2012, Stag started gently by me seeing images on social media, hearing people talk about hunting and then neighbours who moved left a few things behind, among others, a grey candle stick in stag form. It is absolutely not my style, but it now lives in my living room and waits for me to connect more closely with my new spirit animal who came to teach me and share his wisdom with me. As 2024 seems to have time speeding up, as many have remarked, I didn’t really find the time at first, but then, the gentle nudges increased, and I heeded the call.

My first impressions were a profound feeling of peace and power. Stag is not to be trifled with, but he is not excitable, even if that is a bit different in nature when it comes to territory and the ladies of the tribe, of course. However, as it is only him and me in our encounters on the spiritual plane, there is no need to fight. And his strong presence soothes and strengthens me.

I hope you've enjoyed the beginning of my article and look forward to reading it in full when it is finished. As always, I'll keep you posted!

October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month!

Hello beautiful friends,

As fans of romance, we dream of men who treat their women like queens. We love to read epic love stories that show us what REAL love is like in a healthy relationship (even with morally grey characters).

But for many women and children - and a few men - the reality of their intimate relationships looks very different. Domestic violence is real and the repercussions for survivors (and many do not!) are often horrific. PTSD, anxiety, panic attacks, repeating the cycles, having to flee from home to an unknown future or isolating themselves, suffering the abuse in silence, too ashamed and scared to admit what is really going on behind closed doors.

DV can range from mental and emotional abuse, such as making someone feel inadequate and not worthy of love and respect over gaslighting to sexual abuse, serious bodily harm and even death. Unfortunately, it doesn't happen just to others. A high percentage of women and children have experienced cruelty from the people, partners and (step-)fathers who were supposed to protect them, who were supposed to be their greatest cheerleaders and the ones to love them in a way that they felt emotionally and physically safe, seen, respected and taken care of.

In honour of the many victims of domestic violence, my amazing author friend, Eliza Anne, has a special message for you:

"October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month. In order to spread awareness and help survivors, I will once again be donating all of my royalties from The Echoist to a local Domestic Violence shelter. This includes all paperback sales, Ebook sales, and Kindle Unlimited page reads. Last year we were able to donate $520 and my goal this year is to surpass that. This is something so close to my heart and I hope together we can bring more support to those in need."

And here is the blurb:

If we knew what lies in the truth of our dreams, how much pain would be brought to life?

Tatum Campbell has never been afraid of the monsters lurking in the dark. They’re supposed to be the fictitious ones after all. From a far too young age she faced the harsh reality that true monsters live amongst us. Hers just happened to call himself her father. In an effort to heal from her past, Tatum seeks help through a therapist, where she begins to discover that perhaps her monster didn’t stay in the past after all.Her dreams have become better than her reality as she yearns for a relationship where she feels safe. Her behavior towards her husband is changing as much as he has and she finds herself in a spiral she never even imagined while fighting the echoes of her demons.Addison Foster, her best friend, is determined to make sure Tatum never fights alone. But by the time the secrets lying dormant in her subconscious are revealed, will Tatum be the only one hoping to survive?

The Baby-Delivery Service

Hello my beautiful souls!

Today, I'd like to tell you about the stork as a baby carrying and delivering service. Why would I talk about this here, you may ask? Well, because we can trace the origins of the myth back to Ancient Greece and further to Egypt. And guess what? Yes, a Goddess had a hand - excuse me, beak! - in it all!

Nowadays, we are so used to the story of the stork delivering babies that we don't even think twice when we see it on infant's clothes, cards and other places. We don't question where this story comes from. Why would we?

It is just a cute little tradition that doesn't mean anything, really. It was a convenient way for adults to tell children a fib in times when sexuality wasn't discussed when they asked where babies came from. Also, storks nest close to human habitation, often building their nests on chimneys because it is warm there, so to see what a devoted mother the white stork is, was easy.

But even though the baby-stork has become very widespread and popular following the publication of Christian Andersen's short story The Storks, the mythological origins go way back, disappearing in the mists of history and time...

In Greek/Roman mythology, Hera (Juno) had to endure her husband Zeus' (Jupiter's) continued infidelity and turned a rival, the mortal pygmy queen Gerena, into a stork and commanded her to fly away. Gerena didn't want to leave her newborn baby behind (which was likely fathered by Zeus), so she wrapped him in a blanket and carried him away in her beak while chased by her own people. It has now come to light that it is more likely that Gerena was turned into a crane, rather than a stork.

In Ancient Egypt, the human soul, the ba, was represented by a stork in hieroglyphic writing. Also, the Bennu bird, the ancestor of the phoenix as we know it today who was often depicted as a stork, or heron, which looks very similar and is therefore easily confused when interpreting artefacts, flew over the waters of Nun (the primordial waters of creation) and let out a cry after landing on a rock, determining what was to be included in creation. There was a type of heron, now extinct, coming from the Arabian peninsula that seems most likely to be the inspiration for the Bennu bird.

In Norse mythology, it is wrongly believed that storks mate for life, so they are also a symbol of conjugal fidelity and monogamy.

Many storks would be seen flying North around the time of the summer solstice, when many babies were born, thus making the connection between storks and babies being delivered.

In Catholic belief, the pelican, a mother feeding her babies from her beak, holds deeply symbolic meaning and could be yet another incident of mistaken identity over the centuries and millennia.

However, the belief that storks bring babies originated several centuries ago in Germany, in the Alsace, located around the Germany/France border region. Storks are migratory birds. They fly south in the autumn and return nine months later in the spring, then nest and care for their young with loving parental devotion.

The regional Goddess Holda, which was later, as is often the case in patriarchy, turned into a figure in Grim's fairytales, is the Goddess of Death and Birth. Her realm is that of the in-between where she welcomes the souls of the deceased and brings them back to life in new bodies as babies. These souls fall to earth with the rain and collect in bodies of water, awaiting their rebirth.

Holda had messengers that would guide elves in their silver boats to collect the souls with golden threads and then delivered to expectant mothers. In Germanic tradition, Holda was honoured on December 24th, on the winter solstice, thus symbolising the light returning after the darkness, as the days started to lengthen again. The Catholic church then turned this celebration into Christmas and in Western German tradition, the person bringing the presents is the Christkind, usually depicted as an infant or toddler, but this is not Baby Jesus.

In Germanic mythology, Holda travels in her magical chariot across the sky, adorned in white and red garments, on top of which is a cape made of goose feathers, in the starry sky of the night of the 24th of December, bestowing joy and gifts upon the land. Known also as the White Lady, Holda’s association with the winter season, characterized by its blanket of snow, added to her mystique as a figure of reverence and celebration.

In the fairytale, she was called Frau Holle, (Mistress Holle), which is known as Mother Hulda in the English-speaking world, and would shake bedding filled with goose downs out the window which made it snow on earth.

She is the Egyptian Goddess of of joy, motherhood and the performing arts.

My Goddess Journey

Hello my beautiful souls!

This week, I have been prompted to revisit my past. Several things happened that led me to travel back on memory lane, reviewing my journey with and to the Divine Feminine.

I started on my journey when I re-read a book, many years ago, called Circle of Isis by Ellen Cannon Reed that I had originally bought in London in the 90s, when I used to live in the UK's capital where I started on my spiritual journey (in earnest). I re-read the book during a car journey with my two older children, the youngest wasn't born yet, my mum and dad and my aunt. I had my first vision of a Goddess then, Tefnut, most of which I don't recall because she pulled me into my subconscious, so I was physically asleep.

What remains with me is the feeling of unconditional love that surprised so much because I had never experienced this from anyone but my maternal grandmother. And she didn't know about most things in my teenage years and young adulthood (she died a year before my first child was born), so I wasn't convinced that someone could love me like that if they knew everything about me. And Tefnut did. And she loved me anyway.

This incident started a journey into the feminine mysteries, my own healing around the witch's, the mother's, the sister's wound... You name it, I had it. And it manifested through toxic friendships with women who were anything but real friends. I was taken advantage of, made to feel less-than, not good enough, I was talked badly about behind my back, my secrets I'd shared in confidence, in privacy, were spread to other people in a negative way, and so forth.

I am happy to say that my journey of healing remedied that and I now have female friends and acquaintances in my life that are of a totally different character. They support, cheer you on, keep your confidence, have healthy boundaries (as do I now) and share in your joys, celebrating your wins with you, rather than feeling threatened by them.

This journey of awareness, healing and self-empowerment happened in stages. It happened with the support of many beautiful souls, but also with the ever-increasing number of Goddesses that came to me, taught me, loved me unconditionally and shared their wisdom with me. And then, they nudged me to share it with the world.

Egyptian Lion Goddess Tefnut

As these Goddesses presented themselves to me, I did research on them, read books, articles online, academic papers, etc. When I started my website, I thought it would be good to have a blog presenting these Goddesses among other things, so I wrote short articles about them, but then turned them into permanent pages on my website, some Gods and Power Animals found their way there as well, later Tarot and other categories were added.

Thus, my Divine Library was created with the aim of providing mythological background (or biological in case of the Power Animals) and spiritual information in one container.

When I did an Usui Reiki Master refresher course in 2017, Goddesses showed up in my healing sessions to support me in my work, then, bit by bit, whenever they felt I was ready for it, shared new, powerful symbols with me to create a new modality which I call Goddess Reiki.

The imposter syndrome hit hard, my personal life was in shambles and the general overwhelm led me to spiralling into severe burnout in 2019. But even and especially then, the Goddesses never left my side, soothed me when I was distraught, wrecked with guilt about "failing as a mother" as I thought I was then, and helped me to embark on a journey of self-discovery, compassion and patience. I learned to set firm boundaries to protect and honour myself, to stop overly self-sacrificing, people-pleasing and taking myself and my own needs seriously and making them a priority.

I remember many months of mainly lying in bed, unable to keep mental focus, drifting in and out of different dimensions and thinking to myself, you've survived worse, you'll get through this, just be patient, this, too, shall pass. And then Wadjet was there, an Egyptian cobra Goddess who is definitely not the loving coddling type that I was convinced I needed. Frankly, I was desperate for a kind word and a warm hug. But Wadjet told me, she wouldn't be there if I didn't need her, so I should trust.

I didn't trust, but I didn't have the strength to put up an argument, let alone a fight. And that "weakness" turned out to be my salvation. Being unable to put up barriers, blocks and filters, I was open to be filled with anything. And Wadjet led me on a spirit journey and, power player that she is, protected me from all negative psychic influences during this process. Sometimes my Power Animals Cobra or Jaguar were there, too, sometimes other Goddesses came to join and share their love and wisdom. And I received my cuddles from my Power Animal Wolf. It's the nicest feeling to visit with him and feel his thick fur under my fingers as I caress him.

Egyptian Cobra Goddess Wadjet

Coming out of burnout was a long, slow process that required as much patience as discipline in self-care. But it was worth it. I learned and grew so much that I can now honestly say, "Thank fuck, it's over!" But also, "Thank fuck, it happened!"

Because yeah, I needed it. Sometimes change only comes and is embraced when the pain gets so bad that we can no longer ignore it. In an ideal scenario, it's best, of course, to work on yourself deeply and consistently enough to avoid such dramatic events in the first place. But as a Scorpio Sun with Leo ascendant and Taurus moon, it won't surprise you to learn that I am damn stubborn and hold on to things long past their sell-by date. I had also been afraid to face my "demons", thinking that I might have just such a breakdown that would render me incapable of caring properly for my children.

Well, guess what happened. My psyche wasn't on my ego-timeline. It forced the issue. So yeah, don't expect your own subconscious, the universe or whatever, work on your plans, your timelines. Nib that issue in the bud, before it becomes dramatic. It's never as bad as it seems when you face it, rather than ignore, avoid and run from it. I learned it the hard way.

The good new is, there is a softer version. A kinder, more loving and gentler one, yet infinitely more powerful. And that is to discover, embrace and embody your own feminine power through working with Goddesses, their divine energies and the power of their archetypes. And with all my experience, knowledge, and wisdom gained through my own journey, I am ready and able to support you in your own journey in becoming your own Goddess, your own powerful feminine divine being, using and combining various modalities and enlisting the support of powerful feminine Goddess archetypes to do so.

Supermoon, Tarot & Empaths

Hello my beautiful souls!

September is an exciting month where the lunar influence is concerned! Today/tomorrow, depending on where in the world you are, is not only a full moon, it is a Supermoon and we have a lunar eclipse, too!

"Welcome to the eclipse season," some astrologers write.

So what does Supermoon mean? It means it appears bigger than usual because, on its elliptic course around the earth, it happens to be closer than usual this time. Exciting! I hope you have a clear sky, it's well worth some nightly moon gazing.

And what does lunar eclipse mean? Duh! you might think, but trust me, I still have to pause and think about who is in whose shadow and who is blocked out from view by whom. I'm sure I'm not the only one. So to make sure, let me explain.

A lunar eclipse occurs when the moon enters the shadow of the earth, meaning, the sun is on the other side of the earth, casting the shadow and the moon moves into said shadow and is, thus, hidden from view. At least partially in some cases. So whatever planet is in the eclipse name is the one disappearing, not the one blocking. It's so easy to mix that up when you're not an astrologer, isn't it? So lunar eclipse is the moon going poof! Gone!

And the same would apply to the sun on a solar eclipse:

Full Moon in Pisces

Pisces is the sign of sensitivity, intuition, emotions and empathy. Evolved Pisces is creative and a powerful psychic and healer. I've read somewhere in an article years ago that some karmic astrologers worked out that Jesus was born a Piscean and man, did he have next level healing skills!

If you look at the other end of the spectrum, you'll get spacey and if emotions are not regulated, even alcohol or drug abuse, self-pity, etc. Those are the extremes. Most people are somewhere in the middle of that.

My son's partner is born in Pisces and she is extremely creative and when I tested her psychic skills by explaining how to "read" a Tarot card without knowing its meaning (she had no idea at the time), she described the Fool card in vivid detail and when I told her, she was spot-on, she was so happy! You should have seen her glow.

Anyway, so this is where the moon is at right now and it's a powerful one. It heightens our emotional sensitivity and intuitive skills. Take care you don't zone out at inappropriate times and stay grounded. Other than that, take time to go within. The hidden moon invites us to dive deep into our own psyche and explore our shadows - and that also means the golden ones! Those are the special talents you have you hide from the world for fear of negative reactions.

But just as the moon steps out of the earth's shadow again, so too do we come up for air after diving deep. And who says diving deep can't be fun? Dream work, journalling, rituals, meditations with Goddesses like Hanwi or Sedna are especially powerful at this time, or you might want to go on a shamanic journey and meet the archetype of the High Priestess from the Tarot's Major Arcana - Jungian style.

Whatever you do, be gentle with yourself and don't let your heightened sensitivity overwhelm you. Be loving, but set firm boundaries for yourself and others. If you have the opportunity to spend time in or near water, all the better. Let yourself float. If that's not possible physically, do it metaphorically. Pisces is limitless. Experience that grandeur and all-encompassing love of your own heart, turn it inwards for healing, creativity and intuition, then send it out to the world, the universe, all realms and dimensions.

How does that feel to you? Being a Scorpio myself, I love to lie down and listen to the sounds of the ocean. There are lots of tracks to choose from, with or without binaural frequencies. Just do a search on Spotify, YouTube, or whichever platform you prefer.

Feel the power of the water seep into you, filling you, swirling through your entire being to cleanse, purify and consecrate. You can also make an altar and place special Tarot or oracle cards on it, and some moon water as a special offering.

Another great thing to do is to paint or craft or something else creative. Get into the zone, where you lose all sense of space and time and just be an artist expressing your soul. Be bold, be free, be open and let yourself be surprised at what comes up.

If you are into magick and witchcraft, this is a good time to practice scrying with a bowl of water as well. As you can see, possibilities are endless! And because the full moon is in Pisces, I am sure you will come up with your own ideas of creative-intuitive rituals and activities. Just stay open and enjoy the journey!

And if you'd like some assistance in your connection with the divine feminine, gaining clarity and exploring your own heartspace, let me know and I'll be happy to be of service and assist you with a Tarot or Goddess Empowerment reading, a heartspace guided healing meditation or some past life regression.

The Hopping Hippos Part 2 is coming and it will be FREE!

Hello beautiful friends,

In my last spicy romance blog post I talked about having regained my creative mojo after having struggled with not being able to write for over a year. As I said, it's back now and the first things I want to do is to get y'all some hot new freebies because you've been so loyal and patient with me.

The Hopping Hippos Part 2 is now in the second round of editing. It may take a bit because my editor Dana is super busy these days because she is in such hot demand (Yes, she is THAT good! No hype, just real quality and skills!) and I missed my original slot - last year! And yes, it was really that bad with my writer's block! But I'm only human and shit happens, right? Luckily, I'm back in the saddle now, so as soon as I've got the green light, I'll be publishing and you can download it for free.

Please note that it's a continuation of the original book THE HOPPING HIPPOS, so I hope you've all read that already?

Blurbs

The Hopping Hippos: Happiness Comes in Leaps

Janis Ratliff has tried everything to find a job. She even tries for a position in the IT department of a record label. But Furmy, the manager of The Hopping Hippos, a world-famous rock band, has different ideas. He makes her the band's personal assistant and Janis delivers, whipping the young men into shape. What Furmy doesn't know is that Janis has two problems. The first is, she is in love with the sexy rockstars. The second is, they hate her. But Janis needs the job, so she keeps going until one day, drummer Wiggs sees colours…

Trigger Warnings: This is a rockstar reverse harem romance which contains adult themes like explicit sexual content, including MM action and is therefore intended for a mature audience. There is mention of drug abuse and talking about overdosing (which doesn't happen in the story but is referred to), mental health issues and (initial) bullying of the new guy, Riot, by the old band members, although the matter is resolved fairly quickly.

The Hopping Hippos: Part 2

Janis and her men, the infamous rockstar band The Hopping Hippos, are caught on camera, their secret is out and drama ensues. No one knows who posted the video on social media that is now going around the world for everyone to see - including Janis' twin daughters and the band's families. But while they try to contain the damage and turn it into something positive, someone eaten by envy seeks to harm them and Janis, quite literally, gets caught in the crossfire. (Same trigger warnings apply.)

You can get The Hopping Hippos here:

Warming Up Your Mojo on Grey Days

Have you noticed that in the Northern hemisphere, the days get shorter again? Autumn had a field day today in our city of Bergisch Gladbach, just outside of Cologne, Germany. It's been grey and rainy all day. I get affected by this lack of sunlight quite easily, so for me, rather than feeling depressed, I let down the blinds and switch on the warm, bright overhead lights.

Are you sensitive to lack of sunlight, too?

Funny enough, I love the night. No sun at all is okay. Bright sunlight is okay. Grey, misty weather, however, has a really negative effect on my mood. Luckily, there are ways to combat that. For me, my inside lighting helps and I am thinking of buying a sunlight lamp. My mother's friend is badly affected and she swears by it. She says 30 minutes a day in front of that lamp has given her a new lease on life.

Do you have any experience with those lamps? I'd love to hear from you! (Reply to: tirzathesmilinggoddess@gmail.com)

Another thing you can do is to light candles. They have such a beautiful warm glow as well.

Another Great resource are crystals to help you ground and boost your mood. Clear Quartz is a great healer and amplifier, so will conduct other crystal's energies and strengthen them.

Black Tourmaline and Bloodstone are great for protection, grounding, combating negative thoughts and feelings of moodiness or depression. Black Tourmaline is a natural shield against negative energies and Bloodstone lends you extra courage to face any challenges.

Then we have the sunny crystals that have a yellow or orange colour, just as the glow of the sun. You can try various ones to see which suits you best. Some examples are Citrine (also good for abundance and wealth creation), Sunstone (cleanses your aura and chakras, and is good for strength, knowledge, leadership, abundance), Yellow Jasper (passion, Power, creativity, strength, courage, self-discipline), Peach Agate (universal love, emotional healing, creativity) or Banded Agate (stamina, grounding, love).

If you need an extra dose of love, Rose Quartz, Rhodochrosite or Rhodonite are good for that, and Malachite is great for heart healing, but mustn't touch the skin because it's toxic, so it's best worn in a necklace above your clothes or in your pocket. Wash your hands after handling it.

Goddesses to Warm You Up

There are quite a few fiery Goddesses that are guaranteed to warm you up. If you have a favourite tradition/mythology, you might want to choose one from that pantheon. Here are some suggestions:

Shinto (Japanese) - Amaterasu

Norse & Other Scandinavian - Freya, Beiwe

Ancient Egyptian - Sekhmet, Bastet, Tefnut, Hathor

Inuit (Alaska) - Akycha

Cherokee (Native American) - Ulenanhui

Arabian - Shams/Shamsun, Allat

Buddhist - Marici

Chinese - Doumu, Xihe

Filipino - Launsina

Hindu - Tapati

Mesopotamian - Serida

Turkic - Gun Ana

Vietnamese - Than Mat Troi

Baltic - Saule

Germanic - Sol/Sunna/Sunne

Greek - Eos

Roman - Aurora

Arabian Goddess Allat

To warm up with a Goddess, you may or may not create an altar for her, either (semi-)permanent or temporary, decorate it and place some offerings. Then meditate and invite her into your heart space. You may want to keep your favourite crystal(s) close or hold it in your hand, burn a candle and use some incense or essential oil diffuser (Pink Grapefruit or Lemon are great to lift your mood and give you added energy, Orange will give you that warm, loving glow that feels like sunshine in your heart).

Choose a lovely setting in your heartspace, inside, looking out of the door or window or outside, with nature basked in lush sunlight. What does your heartspace look like then? Is there nature like lots of plants, a wood, a lake, the sea or even the desert? I'd love for you to hit the reply button and share with me.

Norse Goddess Freya

Ask the Goddess to infuse your body, mind and emotions with warm sunlight, taking away negative, dark and heavy energy, sluggishness, depressive thoughts, etc. Then listen to her wisdom. Take your time, as much as you need and jot down everything afterwards in your journal over a steaming cup of tea (dried orange peel, orange flower, lemon, ginger, chilli or a mix thereof).

Sometimes, staring into the candle flame can take you back to jog your memory or bring additional insights. Take care to ground yourself afterwards by snacking on something with high protein, like nuts or dried, flavoured chickpeas, or indulge in a bite of chocolate. We all need some food for the soul on occasion, so no judging!

When I got eaten by a shark...

In 1997 I went on holiday to South Africa. One of the many places I visited was the aquarium in Capetown. They have this massive tank with sharks and other fish that goes over two stories. You can stand at the bottom in front of it and look up, or stand on a gallery on the upper level and look down to where people stand and have a good overview of the tank's front.

When I walked to the tunnel that slopes downwards around the tank and brings you out at the bottom again, part of it is open to the tank overhead and you can see the fish swimming above you. As it happened, a shark swam right on top of me as I looked up and suddenly, I was overcome with such sheer panic that I'm sure I broke the Olympic sprint record. I took off down that tunnel so fast until I came out at the bottom, that it surprised myself.

I've never felt particularly comfortable around sharks, usually on screen in documentaries, in movies or in pictures. But seeing one from beneath live like this was a first. I saw the teeth, so crooked and sharp, those small eyes that looked so evil to me and had never felt such terror in my life.

Most people are scared of sharks and they probably would not go swimming with them, especially the bigger ones. But the feeling of abject terror is a totally other level. I was never a terrified person. Afraid, yes, but up to that point in my life, I had never felt such panic either. And there is also a difference between having a mental health crisis type panic attack and being literally terrified into one.

Fast forward a few years to the early 2000s when I'd become an Usui Reiki master, and I remembered that part of my training was sending healing Reiki to past lives and karmic ties that negatively impact a person. Of course, I had to try this on myself first. I went into a deep meditation, letting the energies flow and asked why I was so terrified of sharks.

Then I had a vision. I found myself swimming in the ocean, no land inside, clinging to some broken pieces of wood. Instinctively, I knew I was a shipwrecked sailor, a small, wiry man, very thin, but used to hard work. The little flesh I had on me was all muscles. And then, right in front of me, a huge shark came up out of the water, jaws open, coming right at me, and then all went black.

In that moment, I knew, it had killed me by biting down on me, probably halving my body. But in the vision, I wasn't afraid, much less terrified, merely an observer not only to the outer experience, but observing the emotion of abject terror the sailor experienced in that moment.

I understood that the shark was merely hungry and merely looking for food and that I'd probably appeared to him, floating on the surface as I did, clinging to that driftwood, like its natural prey, a seal or similar animal. There was no evil, devilish intent. A shark isn't a monster, out to maim humanity whenever given the chance.

But that one moment of terror, probably no longer than a split second, that sailor experienced when the shark came up out of the water right in front of him and then devouring him, was something I subconsciously carried with me into this life and caused the reaction I had when I saw the mouth so clearly from standing below it.

I sent healing energies to the sailor-me and my present self after I came out of the vision. For good measure, I sent Reiki to the shark of the past and the shark I physically encountered in Capetown, too. Since then, I can look at sharks in pictures or on camera and not feel so terrified. I wouldn't go swimming with them, but I can see them as animals as opposed to evil, demonic monsters. I can walk underneath one swimming overhead in a tank as I did in Capetown without feeling abject terror and panic. I can read up on them and find it interesting to find out more, rather than avoiding it because it makes me so uncomfortable.

Exploring past lives can have many reasons. You can be merely curious what comes up, you might have an issue you can't find the root cause of in your current life and want to explore whether there is a karmic connection from a past life, or you may want to find out if there is a connection to another person in past lives and what quality those past relationships had.

Being led in such a regression session can be hugely beneficial, whatever your intent is. Things might come up that give you answers to another issue, too. You can go through scenes from various past lives or explore one or two more fully, depending on what you want to experience or find out about.

If you are curious to find out more and want to book a guided past life regression session with me where I guide you gently and safely in a meditative state through your past life experiences and watch a happy client's testimonial video, click here:
