The Beginning of Women Read Scripture
Last year I was facing emptiness. I'd been working at a group home for disabled children which had filled every extra second, but decided to stay home so I could spend more time being an involved grandma. Still, I felt I needed something more.
As my grandchildren began school, I was praying about what to focus on and I felt a whisper that I should consider turning to the scriptures. I played with starting a new manuscript called "The Bridge," reviewing the historical information between the Old and New Testament and was beginning research when out of the blue, my sister, Marianna called and asked me to do a podcast with her called "Women Read Scripture."
Though I had to drive over four hours to the studio each time we filmed, I agreed, and we began discussing the New Testament with some great women. It's been a real treat and allowed me to connect with some old friends. I'm grateful for the opportunity.
But, it's been busier than I ever imaged. That association led to writing our latest book, "Women Read Scripture: 365 Daily Devotionals to the Book of Mormon" with my sister and daughter. It's been wonderful.Women Read Scripture: 365 Daily Devotionals from the Book of Mormon
